  • I can receive emails but cannot send Why?

I am a new user of ipad2 . I have finished setup and can receive emails but cannot send what do I need to change

Go to Settings > Mail, contacts, Calendars > your mail account > and see what it shows for Outgoing Mail Server.  Does it have a name for the SMTP server such as outgoing.isp name.net?  If you tap that outgoing server, go to the page that has Outgoing Mail Server and lists the server name, user name, password...is there a password indicated, does it say Use SSL, and does it give a Port number?

  • User can receive email but cannot send

    Hi,
I'm migrating a domain in an organization to another new domain. Now, we are migrating the workstations to the new domain. Users are not migrated, they are completely new in the new domain.
So, the problem is that we have a workstation in the new domain and the user from new domain logged on on this machine. The user has successfully configured is old exchange account in Outlook (Exchange server is still in the old domain) and can receive email,
    but cannot send.
Can someone help please to find what is wrong?

    Hi Silva,
    Thank you for your question.
Is there NDR when you send email?
Which way outlook connect Exchange 2013?
Where is email which was sent? “sent item” or “Draft”?
Which user mailbox use when you configure profile? New domain user or old domain user?
We could create a trust between new domain and old domain:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779840(WS.10).aspx
We could ping old domain successfully on the new domain.
If we have created mailbox for new domain user on old exchange, we could refer to the following link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998031(v=exchg.150).aspx?f=255&mspperror=-2147217396
In addition, we suggest we migrate user and Exchange to new domain as soon as possible.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

I have a Nokia N96 and i can recieve texts, but i am unable to send ones, i have signal and everything, i got told to make sure that there is a mobile phone looking number on the messaging center, if there is no one, contact my phone provider, but there is a number, and it still will not send texts. Is the mobile number in the messaging center, my actual phone number??
Sorry i asked this on you discussion, but its soo confusing .
The mobile phone looking number is what you call the message center number. Contact your service provider to get the actual one. Then, make sure that you have the same number updated in Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Text messages -> Msg. centre in use.
This is not your "actual phone number".

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • I can receive iMessage but cannot send

I can receive iMessages, but am unable to send.... Help!

    Back again.
Apologies for the delay – it's taken this much time to get a new micro-sim! You were correct that a new sim solved the texting problem - I can now send texts. BUT, the original problem still stands: I go to Settings / FaceTime / Use Apple ID for FaceTime / Enter Apple ID...  I enter my correct password and get:  "FaceTime Activation. The user name or password for (...my email) was incorrect. Try again".
The user name, by default, is my email and my password is the same one used to access this forum, iStore etc. so I know both are correct.
I live in the UAE where FaceTime is banned, but my iPhone 4s is UK specs and has the FaceTime app. I use the same app on my MacBook Pro over broadband and iPad over wifi with no problems. Advice appreciated.

  • Mail can receive messages but cannot send them

I can receive messages in Mail but suddenly I cannot send them.
I just had my hard drive replaced. Runing 10.7.2.
I can send message using my iPad and the same account.

Check all your server setting on that account for the correct username and password, port number and the server address (POP/imap.Mail.XXX.com/net).
This is the only reason mail will not be sent. Incorrect settings on the account.
It may be best to delete the account and recreate it. that way you aren't skipping over the incorrect setting as we humans often do.
Just like I didn't type a capitol T on That in the above sentence. Although I caught that one.

  • Receive mail but cannot send mail. Any ideas?

I have iPad2, email set up to receive and send mail. pop...for receive and smtp... for send. port 110. I can receive but not send. Can anyone help?

Check with your email service and find out which ports can be used with their SMTP and then try that port.

  • Gmail on iPhone4: can receive email but cannot send email

I am using a brand new iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1. I can receive emails from Gmail without any problems, but when trying to send emails I get the error message "the connection to the outgoing server 'smtp.gmail.com' failed. Additional outgoing mail servers can be configured in settings..."
After spending many (!!!) hours on this, I suspect it comes down to one setting in "mail, contacts, calendar", then gmail account information > outgoing mail server > smto.gmail.com; authentication is preset on "MD5 Challenge". This text is grey and cannot be altered. I assume the setting must be "password" instead, but how the *** can I change this?
    Desperate. Please enlighten me!
    Merry Christmas!

I solved my problem.  Thanks razmee209 for your response.

  • Can receive emails but cannot send

    cannot send emails

    Hi mike 1234567,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're not able to send email from your Mac after updating to OS X Yosemite.
I recommend going through the troubleshooting steps in the section of this article called "Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots in the account Status column:"
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
This article contains a variety of steps that can help resolve an issue like the one you're seeing.
    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • I can receive sms but cannot send sms with iphone 4s

I have a new apple iphone 4s. I am able to receive sms but can neither send sms nor go on the internet. I have filled in all the settings given to me by my carrier yet I am not able to connect to cellular network. My carrier gave me a phone number I should enter as my messaging center number. But I am not able to find the place to enter the number on my Iphone. Can someone assist me please?

    Hi!
When mail being sent from iPhone, it will be used the outgoing email server you had setup for the account sending email.
If it works on wifi and not by carrier, it means most likely one of the following:
a: carrier blocking SMTP using any other mail server than the carrier's one
b: your outgoing email server not reachable from external network (an example: 192.168.x.x server, it is a local subnet server, will never be reached from outside)
You can ask your carrier what is the outgoing email server you have to use, and add it to the "other smtp servers" info of your email account. When sending email, iPhone will try servers listed there if main will fail on send.

  • I can receive texts, but cannot send them

When I try to send a text, I have a new looking screen that shows a "subject" line, I can type a text, but the 'send' button is subdued and will not allow me to send a text. This just happened today. Yesterday, I could send texts, but not MMS. According to ATT, everything is OK on my account and I should have full texting ability.
    Any thoughts?

you have to type below the grey line under subject. The send wont show till something is typed below the line.
