Can RH let me insert a custom/personal icon for my published HTML Help project?

Just wondering if there's a setting inside of RH8 for setting
the icon in the browser URL bar?
(for example, there's a little red and white icon with barely visible "Adobe" in the browser address bar above...or facebook has the blue square with the white f in it). What if I have a fave icon; how do I associate it with my help project (rather than the blue e ...)

The only thing backed up from InDesign is the limited number of settings in the Sync Settings preferences, and only if you choose that option. No design files are backed up.
If you choose to use the File Sync files feature of the Creative Cloud desktop app, you can choose to copy files for yourself or to share, but that it's turned off by default.

dianneb, great question and thanks for the help Weth. The good news is if you're on More Everything the mobile hotspot would be apart of your plan just as Weth mentioned. What you just want to keep in mind is that the usage from the tablet while connected to the hotspot would take from your current plan allowance. Hope this helps!

If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).

Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.

In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

Since purchasing my Mac Pro with retina display, I can no longer change the preferences on MP Navigator for Canon MX870. I can change them on my old Mac Pro with Lion, but not the new one. I can scan but I can't save it to a folder on my hard drive. I can only let it default to a back up date folder. Tried all sorts of things to change the preferences and folders, nothing worked. Ideas?

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

Retaining Custom made Icons For Automator Apps

Hello, I've noticed that when I give a custom made icon to an Automator app, it will display it on my Mac but when I send it to someone, it's original icon is displayed. Is there any way to have it display the custom made icon even when I send it to someone else?

I suspect you are using the old trick from the Classic OS of just transferring the icons between the Info windows.
I think there is a way to retain that icon but it is quite involved. I haven't tried this so just guessing at this point.
The normal icon for the Automator app is stored in the package that is created when you save the completed workflow. You can get access to the package by using the Show Package Contents contextual menu item in the Finder.
Inside the package you will find a number of files and folders. Within the Resources folder you will find two files related to the icons for the package, one for the Applet and one for documents.
The Applet icon file is the one that you need to work on and change to retain your modified icon. There is a little utility called Icon Composer that is an Apple product available on my machine in the Open with dropdown contextual menu. This might have been installed with the Developer tools though.
Within Icon Composer you can replace the icons within the Applet file and they should stick upon transfer to another machine. Here is the description within the help files of Icon Composer.
"You need to give IconComposer at least one image to generate an icon (.icns) file. However, you should provide four different versions of the icon. IconComposer optimizes each version for rendering at the resolutions of 128x128 pixels, 48x48 pixels, 32x32 pixels, and 16x16 pixels.
If you give IconComposer only one image, it should be optimized to look best at 128x128 pixels. This ensures it looks goods when displayed at the maximum resolution of 128x128 pixels, and looks acceptable when scaled down to the smaller resolutions.
If you supply different sizes of the icon to IconComposer, you should also provide 1-bit image masks for the three smaller resolutions. An image mask defines what parts of the icon are clickable. Assuming the color black is used to compose the image mask, any areas that are colored black in the mask define which parts of the icon can receive mouse clicks.
IconComposer can create icons from the following image formats: GIF, JPEG, PDF, PICT, PNG, TIFF, and any of the QuickTime-supported image formats. To create the actual icon file, drag the icon images to the corresponding image wells in IconComposer. Then choose Save from the File menu, which prompts you to name the icon file and choose a location for it."
So as you can see it could be quite involved.
It might be easier to develop a method to automate what you are currently doing and provide the people with a blank file that has the other icon to transfer.

Here's how to use your own custom Webclip icons for the sites you visit.

This method is pretty much 95% taken from this URL: http://allinthehead.com/retro/319/how-to-set-an-apple-touch-icon-for-any-site , so credit where credit is due. The instructions are a bit hard to understand though, so I'll try to make it easier for everyone.
Fortunately, this works for both Macs and PCs.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Requirements:
- iPhone on 1.1.3 and any version of iTunes that can sync to iPhone
- Adobe Photoshop or any other image editing program that can crop, alter image size, and save .png image files. (Recommended 24-bit .pngs as they are higher quality)
- Apple Safari ( http://www.apple.com/safari/, and yes, you need it.)
- A website or ftp where you can upload images and directly link to them, like Google Pages.
Warning:
- This requires you to sync your Safari bookmarks to your iPhone. You will probably lose all of your iPhone's bookmarks if you don't already sync your Safari bookmarks with your iPhone. Only proceed if you do not mind losing your iPhone's current bookmarks and do not mind re-entering them after the bookmark sync. NOTE: The bookmark sync DOES NOT get rid of your current Webclips though, so don't worry about those.
Easy Steps:
1) First, make sure that you are following these instructions in the Apple Safari web browser.
2) Find an image you wish to make into a Webclip icon. (ex: I prefer to use movies.yahoo.com to look at movie showtimes, so I found an image of a movie reel from Google Image Search and decided to use that.)
3) Open the image with your preferred image editor and crop your desired image into a perfect square. Resize that picture down to 57x57 pixels. Save as a 24-bit .png file. Upload the icon to your webpage or ftp. (ex: I ended up with this icon of a movie reel: http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/appleicon01.png )
4) Select and copy the javascript code in this .txt file: http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/webclipcode.txt
5) Go to Bookmarks and select "Add Bookmark..."
6) Type in "Webclip Icon URL"
7) Go to Bookmarks again and select "Show all Bookmarks."
8) Right-click your new "Webclip Icon URL" bookmark and select "Edit Address"
9) Paste your clipboard's contents into the field.
10) Plug your iPhone into the computer if it's not connected already.
11) In iTunes, select your iPhone from the right column. Select the Info tab. Scroll down to "Web Browser" and check "Sync bookmarks with: Safari" (obviously, make sure Safari is selected from the dropdown menu).
12) Once your iPhone is synced, use your iPhone to navigate to your intended website target to make into a Webclip. Remember that Webclips save where you zoom in as well! (ex: For me, it was movies.yahoo.com and then entering in my zip code.)
13) Once you've loaded your target website, open up the bookmarks in iPhone's Safari, select Bookmarks Bar, then select Webclip Icon URL.
14) Type in the address of your uploaded icon. (ex: In my case, it is http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/appleicon01.png)
15) iPhone's Safari will seem like it didn't do anything. However, add that webpage now to your home screen as a Webclip. Magic.
Additional note:
It is easiest to make a bunch of icons at first and to upload them. However, once that "Webclip Icon URL" bookmark is in your iPhone, there is no need to go back and do any of the computer Safari steps again

Your display obviously is not like mine as mine does not dosplay the port associated with the ip address
whatever, the STB's start at 192.168.1.100 and icement by 1 for each
the port addr's will be 63145 alo incrementing by 1
there is 1 entry for each in my pf list
however each ip addr also has a port entry starting at 35000 also incrementing by 1 for each ip addr
For some unknow reason these are duplicated e.g I appear to have 11 entries exaactly the same for each stb and as the fios services rules have no action switc there is nowhere to delete the extraneous garbage.

Generate Extract Structure for FI-SL Tables (Transaction BW01)
1. Use F4 help to choose the required totals table.
2. Flag whether you want extract structures to be generated for totals records and/or line items.
3. Choose Execute.
4. Result: You have generated the extract structure(s).
The extract structures contain the name of the totals table:
¡ Totals record extract structure: T in the totals table is replaced by B
¡ Line item extract structure: T in the totals table is replaced by W
Table group GLFUNC:
§ Totals table: GLFUNCT
§ Totals table extract structure; GLFUNCB
§ Line item extract structure: GLFUNCW
Assign DataSource to a Ledger (Transaction BW03)
1. After starting the transaction, you see a list of all selectable ledgers for which you can generate or maintain DataSources for totals records and/or line items.
If a required ledger does not appear, you might not have generated an extract structure for the corresponding table. In this case, execute transaction BW01.
The list contains the following information (columns from left to right)
· Ledger
· Description of the ledger
· Table (totals table corresponding to the ledger)
· Totals record DataSource
· Delta-compatibility of the totals record DataSource (from Release 4.70)
· Status of the totals record DataSource
· Line item DataSource
· Status of the line item DataSource
The status display in the column to the right of the field shows the current status of each DataSource.
2. Choose a DataSource by placing the cursor in the corresponding row for the ledger and column for the totals records or line items and carrying out a double-click.
Depending on your choice, the system now displays either the Totals record DataSource or Assign Line Item DataSource dialog box.
3. Enter the corresponding data.
When you create a new DataSource, the system proposes a name according to the following naming convention:
¡ Total record DataSources: 3FI_SL_xx_TT
¡ Line item DataSources: 3FI_SL_xx_SI (xx stands for the ledger in question)
You can change the proposed name (though the 3 at the beginning cannot be changed). However, you are strongly advised to retain the naming convention from the proposal.
For the totals record DataSource, the option Activate Delta Updating is only displayed from Release SAP R/3 470. Delta updating is mandatory for line item DataSources. To display these, the flag Activate Delta Updating has to be activated in the dialog box.
4. Choose Continue.
The DataSource: Edit Customer Version screen appears. Here, you can exclude individual fields in the ledger from selection or transfer to the BW.
5. Configure the DataSource and save your settings.
6. Result: You have generated and can now use a DataSource for data extraction for your FI-SL ledger.

Custom calculation script for a lease (please help)

I have so little experience with this it isn't funny. I prior to now have never used javascript. But Im trying to get my lease form to auto calculate a tenants pro-rate that would be due if they moved in on the middle of the month for example.
I created the below script and im sure there is a few things or more than a few things wrong with it...can anyone give me some pointers.

How can I display separate hd and sd movie icons for same movie?

I downloaded (bought, not rented) an HD movie. I saw the HD file download and SD file download; both are in the itunes music library. However, only an HD/SD icon displays in itunes. No matter what I try I can't get the SD version to display as a separate icon. And therefore, I can't transfer it to my ipad. Only the HD version transfers. Thoughts/ideas definitely welcome.

Got an answer from itunes support. Took 2 tries, but here it is. If you download an HD movie from the itunes store, itunes downloads both the HD and SD version (if it is an HD/SD offering). However, in Itunes, only an HD-SD icon will display. When you sync your IPAD, the HD version will sync -- unless -- 1) you connect your IPAD to your computer and let it sync; 2) within itunes, select the IPAD as source; 3) select Summary tab and 'Prefer Standard Definition videos.' Voila the icon available to the IPAD switches to Standard. Select apply. Now, only the standard version syncs -- usually saving 2GB of space.

Create a custom alert message for my publishing site

I have enabled outgoing email to enable sending alerts from SharePoint to users. But I want to have a simpler alert email. Where I do not need to include the item content within the email . so I am trying to achieve the following:-
Remove the item content from the alert email and just include a link to the item such as a link to a wiki page, announcement item ,etc.
Currently the link will include the servername in it such as
http://servernameSP01/sharepoint/Page1 . But we have defined a DNS name so that out SharePoint is accessible using a more user friendly such as
http://ourcompany.intra. So is there a way to include this instead of the server name in the email links?

For the first question, my understanding is that you want to add a link to the email alert. As there is no OOTB feature to achieve it, I suggest you custom
the alert template to achieve it.
The email alert template is in the folder below.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\XML
Before editing the xml, remember to copy the xml file to another location. You can edit the format tag of the xml and add your custom link to the format
tag.
Save the xml and update the list alert template to the new one.

For the second question, my understanding is you want to replace the server name link with a DNS link. It could be achieved using alternate access mappings.
