Can RME Fireface ownsers list there problems here?

RME claims that there software bundle which ships with the FF800 unit "TotalMix" is bug free., i seem to disagree here.
My reasons for this is that anytime you make a selection the function you chose would not respond instantly and it is hard to tell if you selected SPDIF outs or not on channels.,
--> RME Claims i should read the manual here while the latency is a fact and no where does the manual mention this unit behaved like this and if so i would not of even bothered.
Speaking of SPDIF, it is another issue itself, Sync issues that is.
Also the "TotalMix" is supposed to allow one to route things internally, yet any selections made in the matrix has no effect on the unit at all.
The worse and most serious bug with the unit is the fact that whenever a device is changed on the firewire bus of your computer, the interface sends a high pitch noize to your monitors risking blowing them out!, i read all kinds of users experiencing this on PC's as well,
--> RME says i should seek another computer and drop my brand new iMac for them., or Spend 500€ on some interface to prevent there device from blowing my monitors.
Can other Fireface users confirm any of these issues with there systems.

I'm not trying to start anything, so keep that in mind during this correspondence please.
I read the thread you started on RME's forum and the other you started on logicprohelp's forum and you implied (at least that's how I read it) that you haven't read the Fireface manual. Nothing wrong with that at all. That's how I learn the best too. But this may be a case where you need to read the manual to understand the process that RME has in place.
For example (I don't have a fireface, so I'll use Logic), when I first started out with Logic, it took me forever to create a new unused track. I went to the track menu in the Arrange Window and selected "create." No dialog, just a duplicate of the already highlighted track. Then I tried "create with next" and it gave me a track that I already had used (I wanted to create a track in the middle of all the other tracks... little did I know that it would bring up the next track in sequential order).
I'm not trying to belittle your experience or anything, I'm just saying that the language used might not be the clearest in the application itself, just like the above mentioned situation with Logic. The manual and a couple of well placed questions on this forum led me in the right direction and now I understand what I need to do and why things are labeled the way they are. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I understand it.

Usually, there's no need for that. Most people only configure services
that aren't already configured the way they should be after an OOBE
install...

OK ..... Did you sign into your new ID in Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your old ID and sign out and then sign in with the new ID.

In my Itunes account, I can not see my list of songs in my files, nor can I look for individual songs in the Itunes store. Basically, anywhere there are list, I can not see them. What can I do to fix this problem?

I am having trouble with my Itunes account on Windows XP . I can not see any list in my music files. The songs are there but I have to click on each song to see what it is. Also, in the itunes store, I can not see any pull down list or use my search bar. This happened when Itunes updated it's look. I can pull it up on my phone and see all of my purchased music. Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro. If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook. Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad. Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9 firewire audio problem on RME Fireface 800, MOTU 828 Mk II and Apogee Duet on late 2013 iMac i7

I just got the late 2013 iMac 3.5GHz Intel Core i7 and all my firewire based audio interfaces do not work properly although I upgraded to the latest drivers. iTunes or Youtube can play for a short and then there are unbrearable digital noises.
Apogee Duet is slightly better that can play for a few minutes. Then it may have short pause or digital noises. I need to reset the "Sample Rate" to other values to get it work again.
MOTU 828 mk II and RME Fireface 800 are having the most serious problems. Alternating the sample rate can sometimes help but often I need to reboot the iMac to get it work again. However, it works for only 1-2 minutes before the digital noises.
These are the software/drivers I installed:
- Apogee Maestro 2 version 2.8.8
- MOTU Universal Audio Installer for Mac OS X version 1.6.58373 (8/20/2013)
- RME version 3.19, firmware 2.77
I connect the fireware through Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire convertor.
These drivers are supposed to work with 10.9 but they don't. Anyone can help or share experience?

I've read in other forums that there are two issues that is causing this problem of chopping audio and freezing interfaces. One has to do with USB 2.0 /USB 3.0 issues in OS. The other seems to be an issue with the Fusion drive.
The fix for the fusion drive issue that has been shared online is to either:
Option #1. Don't use the fusion drive and create an external boot drive clone (either SSD or standard HD) and use as your primary drive (completely surpassing the internal fusion drive).
Option #2. Split the internal fusion drive. From there you can use them as two separate logical drives. Load your OS on one of the drives (SSD or HD). http://www.macworld.com/article/2015664/how-to-split-up-a-fusion-drive.html
Before, you do any of the above, make sure that you backup your current system setup.
I just received my imac (2013) with 3TB fusion and I plan on trying option #1. I bought a 3TB external USB drive which I plan to clone after I have the machine running. Once I clone the internal drive, I will test how the machine runs from both the internal fusion and the external to prove if this addresses the audio clipping/stopping problem. Hopefully, Apple will find a fix for this.
It is really a dissapointment that a brand new $2500+ machine and software was not tested to perform something that my 2008 MacBookPro and my home built Window XT machine (circa 2003) did without issue. I wished that I would have checked the forums about these issues before I purchased the machine.

Use Au Lab with Rme fireface 800 problems

i have a eq configuration for my speakers so i would like use it on my master output with Au Lab
the problem is when i open the output configuration, The levels doesn't work. I put output 1-2 and nothing happens.
I have a special configuration because i have an external processor:
Signal goes out from the streaming out 3-4 (on the center side) and gets the output 3-4( down side).
Then the signal goes to In3-4 (up side)to catch the processor and goes out to the output (1-2).
What i have to do??

visiting the forum of RME I found that a possible solution to overcome this problem is to make a connection between the iMac and the FF800 audio card using a firewire cable (9pin male to 9pin male, std 1394b) between the two firewire ports 800. Anyway I didn't try yet this solution because this cable std is not easy to find out (here in Italy). I ordered it 15 days ago but I didn't receive it yet. I have still to complain about Apple attitude on this issue. I didn't receive any answer/suggestion from their side. Furthermore, once again they erased this issue from the issues global list. In fact my last message was dated 30 April, but I didn't find it in the list on this date. Only once I performed the login I found again my questions and was able to answer to you.

RME Fireface 800 in 64 bit Problem

Using information helpfully provided by Kappy and The Hatter on this forum (see topic https://discussions.apple.com/message/27751034?ac_cid=op123456 if interested) I found that I was able to get my Mac Pro (early 2008) 3,1 to boot in 64 bit mode, and that Logic Pro 9 could also be made to open and work in 64 bit mode.
I am currently using OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, but am waiting for 10.8 Mountain Lion to be “delivered” (by email) so that I can use Arturia’s V Collection 4 and their Keylab 61 USB MIDI keyboard controller, both of which require Mountain Lion. V Collection 4 is 64 bit only, which is why I want to use 64 bit.
It all seems to work except my RME Fireface 800 interface, which is not recognised in 64 bit - red light on the FF800 unit and the associated software will not open. The FF800 works fine when I go back to 32 bit on the Mac Pro.
Does anyone here know about the issue with 64 bit and the RME Fireface 800 please? Maybe it just needs updated drivers? I have emailed RME and await their reply but it made sense to ask here as well.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Padding on the bottom only fixes the problem BUT IS NOT the source of the problem, that is the default margins on the paragraph tag. I would forget trying to understand why you need padding and look more towards what causes the issue. If you know what the real source of an issue is then you can generally fix it quite easily. What solution you use to fix it is then something you can decide upon.

There are a few things that are confusing in your question.
As far as I know, you dont have to install Time Machine on this OS as it is already installed for you. You only need to connect a hard drive to your computer via firewire or usb, click on the Time Machine icon, Open Time Machine Preference in the drop down menu and select a disk: your connected hard drive.
You can of course reformat this connected device, partition it into a few volumes to organise data if you so wish.
I find it strange that your mac's hard drive is divided into two volumes... perhaps this was created through bootcamp?
You can access the configuration of your hd through Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities.
Clicking on one of the icons on the right hand panel will bring the details of the contents of your hardDrive and volumes. From there you can decide to erase a partition, reformat etc....
If your hd contains more than one volume, and one of them is empty, you could decide to remove it. Back up all your important data before doing so.

[SkyDrive] Files can't be uploaded because there's a problem with a file or folder.

On Windows 8.1 RTM, the SkyDrive metro client shows a message that "Files can't be uploaded because there's a problem with a file or folder." and lists one particular file. When I installed the PC, I have switched then Access all files offline
option to On.
The file resides in a directory I have deleted from the disk. When attempting to get rid of this "problem" (as there are no hints nor UI available) I have manually checked that the directory does not exists on the disk any more, as well as deleting
the directory from cloud storage using a web browser. However, the message is still there.
Restarting the computer several times nor keeping it idle for a significant amount of time did not help.
How to get rid of that "problem" / how to fix it?

Let’s try to redirect the skydrive folder and sync again to see what’s going on:
1. Open regedit and find following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SkyDrive
2. Change “UserFolder” to another location.
3. Open the SkyDrive Metro app to confirm your files and new directory.
Then check the issue again.
