Can RSS feeds show whole webpage instead of summaries?

I have a feed on craigslist.com, but Mail is only showing summaries of newly posted items in my feed. To be able to see photos, I need Mail to show me the full webpage. I know some other feed readers like Mozilla Thunderbird have this option. Can this be changed in Mail?

Hey thanks for your answer, but thats not what i meant.
The feeds i use are not full text feeds. There are only short summarys of the whole articles. If you want to read the whole article, you have to click on a link, your webbrowser opens an you can read the rest on the website itself. In thunderbird there is an options that shows the website in the program, so you dont have to click and open the webbrowser to read the full article.
Thats what i want with mail if possible.

    Did you try to right-click a feed and select "Reload Live Bookmark"?
    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • If I buy Lion in the app store, can I ''reset'' my whole macbook (instead of doing this with the cd that comes with the macbook)?

    If I buy Lion in the app store, can I ''reset'' my whole macbook (instead of doing this with the cd that comes with the macbook)?
    With ''reset'' I mean, repair because it is from 2007 and so slow. So that all the data and programmes are gone and I can start over with Lion!?

    You have a choice. You can start by erasing the drive and reinstalling Snow Leopard prior to purchasing and downloading the Lion installer. Or you can purchase and download the installer, save the Lion installer, create a bootable Lion USB flash drive installer, boot from the Lion installer, erase the hard drive, and install Lion. I would suggest the second choice:
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button or quit the installer. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
    Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
    Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
    Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.
    To install Lion from scratch:
    Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
    If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
    Boot From Lion USB Flash Drive:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears. Select the icon for the USB flash drive then click on the arrow button below the icon.
    Erase the hard drive:
    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
    Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.

  • Can RSS feeds be synced via Firefox Sync? Currently I can see my RSS links but the feeds appear to be all empty.

    I set up Firefox sync on my phone and a few desktops. I have several RSS feeds included which sync perfectly on the desktop version of Firefox, but on my phone the feeds don't load (even though I can see the containing link).
    otherwise, Firefox Mobile is great - I like it enough that I switched to Android from an iPhone!

    Hi,
    Thanks for using Firefox for Android! I have heard of an issue with live bookmarks that sounds similar to the one you are having. The forum thread about that is over here: https://support.mozilla.org/el/questions/930847 Maybe it is helpful to you? Let me know if the problem you are having is different and I'll get a separate bug filed or ask the engineering / quality team to investigate it.

  • Horizontal RSS feed- is it possible to create an RSS feed (showing both pictures and text), that scrolls from left to right rather than top to bottom?

    I am trying to create an RSS feed that will scroll from left to right rather than top to bottom as is standard in iWeb.  Ideally, I would like to show both images and text. I am actually using iWeb '09.  I am not opposed to writing html code if necessary.
    Thank you for your help!

    Probleme solved without having to change anything in the flash.
    The solution was to add a small part in the CSS in HTML
    html {
    overflow-x: hidden;
    overflow-y: auto;
    Solve probleme. All browser. VERY usefull to know !

  • RSS feeds show up as new, even after being read

    Hi, I'm new to RSS Feeds so I have a few questions. First off, every two weeks or so my RSS Feeds all show up as new, even though I have read them. I have my preferences set as "remove articles after one year." Does this have anything to do with them showing up as un-read?
    Also, do having RSS Feeds take up space on my hard drive? Do I need to remove articles sooner than every year? Will it slow down my safari/hard drive?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Blake:
    The feeds do take up space, but you would have to do some research to determine how much. I have mine set to delete after a day, so I have no frame of reference. My RSS feeds are all news sources, so the news is, to me, stale after a day.
    The 'showing up as new' is a new problem to me. Mine do not do that, although there was an initial problem in that area when the browser was released.

  • RSS Feed showing on all records!

    Hi...
    I wanted to have RSS Feed on one particular record in this case an opportunity record, lets say opp_x.
    However, if I create other opportunities RSS Feed also appears. Is there a way to limit RSS Feed to individual record?
    Many Thanks

    This may be possible with dynamic layouts.(if you can group your opportunities by type)

  • RSS Feeds on a webpage

    Hi DW people am trana have feeds from many different sources included on pages in the website that I am working on.
    What I want to achieve: I am looking to have one row with three columns that display the feed headlines in a 220px by 220px div container (you know all those headlines with pics). So am also trana make each container display like 5 headlines each from one source(usually feeds providers have more than one headline sometimes up to 20)
    So far I have created an XSLT Fragment and I have an XML data source binded to it. The thing is when it is displayed in the browser I have no control over it ie it just lists out all the feeds in several rows from the top of the page to the bottom. Then when I tried giving it some style to make it align in a row they just overlap one on top of the other.
    When I tried including the Fragment on my dynamic page DW automatically created MM_XSLTransform.class.php file and attached it to my page. I dont want to bore anyone but I have issues with this particular MM_XSLTransform.class.php file. I have tried including some functions of my own in it so as to give it more capabilty but really its a very long story...
    I have also experimented with Spry but then without the XSL style it just gives the raw data as output in the browser. When I tried having the XSL style along with the Spry it gives several errors at the start of the page like so:
    ( ! ) Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\parseXMLs\includes\MM_XSLTransform\MM_XSLTransform.class.php on line 208
    ( ! ) Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\parseXMLs\includes\MM_XSLTransform\MM_XSLTransform.class.php on line 215
    at the bottom list out the feeds!!!!
    The error appears on several lines (listing them all out here wont make sense).
    Am using DW CS4 on a windows 7 OS..
    Pls DW people I need some help with this one.. Speedy and valid response appreciated

    According to the help docs of DW .. It is always good to put the style of the fragment on the dynamic page itself to avoiding giving the servers a hard time.. Incase you asking just how I created the fragment: New->XSLT Fragment-> DW then presents you wt d option of using a local source file or using one from the net.. whichever u choose the schema of the source appears in the Bindings panel...
    Then to add this Fragment on the dynamic page.. U open the page in DW.. click Server Behaviors->click the + then click XSL Transformation...
    Phew.... Thats a lot of info aint it?
    Run my code as it is and see wat happens ... u might have to get ur own source to work wt..
    On the dynamic page when u do as I have explained above DW creates a link to the MM_XSLTransform.class.php file ...
    I hope all of this helps SIR

  • Keynote data labels, can I show category names instead of data values?

    I'd like to recreate the chart below in Keynote. The chart below is an excel line chart with the lines removed. In excel I can opt to show category names instead of values for the data labels. Can I do this in Keynote?

    You can select member name or alias or both in the Dimension property while creating the form.
    It is in the same window as explained earlier, you need to just select both the Member and its Aliase to be displayed on the form.

  • Adding Java Script RSS Feed to Library Item

    Can anybody help me I have been trying to add a java script
    for a rss feed to a library item page. That way a rss feed shows in
    the library page field. I have 3 sites from 1000 to 10000 pages.
    They all use a library item. I want the current news to show in
    this section of the web page. But it doesn's seem to work when I
    call the page up. I can insert the java script to the web page and
    it works correct.
    Can anybody give me some advice I would appriciate it.
    Thanks.

    > They all use a library item
    I think it's a huge mistake. Why would you use a Library item
    on sites this
    large, and commit yourself to uploading every changed file,
    when you could
    use a server-side include instead?
    > Can anybody give me some advice I would appriciate it.
    I would need to see your Library item's markup to advise you.

  • RSS feeds open multiple tabs, doesnt go to feed

    when i want to choose and subscribe to an RSS feed on a webpage, the browser opens several EMPTY tabs and I cant stop it. I am not able to select a RSS feed through a website. i was able to do this before. Not sure if it is an upgrade issue or hardware or?
    Please helP!

    Did you delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder?
    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
    You can check the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
    If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value.

  • Safari 4 slower loading with RSS feeds

    Don't know what happened in Safari 4 (4.0.2), but now it is much slower loading initially because of the way RSS feeds in the bookmarks bar are now being handled. I can not use the browser until all the RSS feeds have been checked. Even when clicking on an RSS item within a particular page such as CNN, the time to open that feed is significantly slower.
    There has always been occasional problems with the bookmark bar for RSS feeds showing there are unread feeds, yet nothing shows unread beside the individual feeds. The problem now happens almost every day. The only solution is to choose the view all RSS feeds and find the unread items.
    I am also noticing that web page loading is also much slower than it was in 3.x. Get tired of that spinning loading at the right of the address entry bar. The beach ball is more interesting because it is in color.
    I have 18 Mbps broadband, so that isn't the problem, as all the slowdowns happened as soon as I started using Safari 4.
    So much for snappier loading

    I don't understand why you're using Safari for your RSS feeds; it's not an ideal solution compared to a dedicated RSS reader like Vienna, NetNewsWire, or Newsfire; I'd use one of those and turn off RSS feeds in Safari's preferences pane.
    But Safari 4 is faster than Safari 3; it isn't for you because of a variety of factors, so let's change them and see if we can't speed things up. Here's what you can do:
    Try changing your Network settings to use OpenDNS
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use the Get Info panel to Lock the folder.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use the Get Info panel to Lock the folder.
    Go to ~/Library/Safari and delete these files:
    Downloads.plist
    History.plist
    LastSession.plist
    TopSites.plist (if you don't want to use Top Sites, Lock that file right after you restart.)
    WebpageIcons.db
    Restart Safari and see if your problem is solved.

    to modified to allow for the RSS feed? Or is there something
    else that I am
    over looking?
    any insight would be greatly appreciated
    thank you
    Kevin

    Hi, I'm also having the same error. I found in some other
    forums that I should do the following (I think its you David who
    suggested it):
    comment the line --> $xml =
    DOMDocument::loadXML($content);
    then add these two lines
    $doc = new DOMDocument();
    $err = $doc->loadXML($content);
    Well, actually when MM_XSLTransform.class.php was created it
    was already updated. But I'm still getting the error.
    I'm still a baby in PHP and I've been trying to figure it out
    for 2 days and nothing is happening.
    Please, please...your response will be highly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Jeng

    Is it possible to add an RSS feed to a blog created using web apps? Can RSS feeds be used for items other than an actual blog?

    No, but you have an RSS feed of your blog anyway and you can set an RSS feed for your web app if you want as well.Business Catalyst Help | Create RSS feeds

  • RSS Feed in Flash: is it possible?

    Can RSS Feeds be inserted into Flash?
    I would like to create an animation whose sole purpose is to scroll a feed (like CNN), and that would change the source feed every 10 minutes.
    Is this possible in Flash?

    But of course RSS Feeds are possible to load in Flash.
    You can load the RSS XML as an XML file and work with it that way.
    A couple of things to mention:
    1. You need to work with a crossdomain poilcy file if you are loading the RSS from a different domain than the SWF (IE - RSS is on feeds.mywebsite.com, and the SWF is on www.mywebsite.com)
    Look up how to work with XML files, and crossdomain policies (if necessary).
