Can Samsung ATIV 32 bit OS, 1.80GHz, Windows 8 be networked for Remote access using Tier Medical software

I was able to successfully download and connect to my employer's Tier Software.  I  tried to run the TIER training module and received an error message with a code number and problem with Tier.exe.  When I contacted our system
administrator as directed by this error message I was told that my screen was not big enough because it was a tablet and the screen is 10.1 inches. New Hires are required to have a computer or a laptop that runs The Tier Medical software purchased at
our expense.  There is no Full -time computer administrator.  I would like to encourage the employer to consider a consultation with a Tier consultant or computer consultant and what the approximate cost would be.  This could resolve my problem
and at least 2 other health service professionals the expense of buying a new computer.  Please advise me about some alternative solutions if there are any.

  • Guest OS Windows 7 for remote access

We are setting up 4 VM's with Windows 7 OS for staff access on a Dell PowerEdge R320.
We had all of the VM's working as specified above but had to re-install Server 2012 Standard because the factory tech setup the Raid 5 to only give the server OS 40 GB of space.
Installed Windows Server 2012 Standard with the following Roles and Features:
    File and Storage Services
    Hyper-V
Network Policy and Access Services - Network Policy Server - Health Registration Authority
Web Server (IIS) - Web Server (Defaults)
    Management Tools (Default)
We will be joining this server to a Domain Controller on another server.
This server will need to have mapped drives to a third party software database and storage file installed in it for business management.
For setup purposes the NIC1 has been disabled to reserve it for iDRAC.
The NIC2 is set to a static IP address for RDP and DOES have internet access.
An External virtual switch has been installed in Hyper-V on the NIC2 named "Virtual Switch NIC 2" All of the guset VM's have the Virtual Switch "Virtual Switch NIC 2" installed (without VLAN ID and Bandwidth Management checked).
The guest OS does show the network adpater as a device and is also set to a static IP for RDP. The networking and sharing window shows "No Internet Access" and cannot repair or resolve the issue. The Guest OS also does not see the Host files shared
or the Host in Network. It displays as an unidentified network.
Please advise and thank you in advance for your assistance.

NIC 2 should not have anything on it except for Hyper-V Extensible Virtual Switch.  Anything else and you do not have a virtual switch on that NIC.  By default, when you create an External Virtual Switch, Hyper-V will automatically remove all the
other protocols and settings and enable the Hyper-V Extensible Virtual Switch.  It looks like you went in and made manual changes which broke everything.
Delete your virtual switch and recreate it. When you recreate it, click the box to Allow management operating system to share this network adapter.  Then configure your IP information on the vEthernet that is created, not NIC2.  DO NOT MAKE ANY
CHANGES TO THE PROPERTIES OF NIC2.
"In the Hyper-V manager - Network Tab - it shows the IP address for the Guest OS as:
    169.254.181.237"
I don't know what you are talking about here.  Hyper-V Manager does not have a 'Network Tab'.  Hyper-V does not perform any networking functions for the VMs.  You need to configure the network within the VMs themselves.  If you do not
have DHCP configured for your environment (not a Hyper-V function), your VMs will come up with a 169.254.0.0/16 address.  That's an APIPA address and is a standard.
One last thing, you might want to read this blog in order to better understand how networking works within Hyper-V -
    How
does basic networking work in Hyper-V?  It's written for 2008, but it's a primer and it is still valid for 2012.

  • Can I set up a wireless printer as a network printer and not use Airport?

I have a HP Photosmart Plus wireless printer set up in my network for use by several iPods, iPads, and iPhones.   I have an iMac running 10.6.8 that I want to set it up on, but to use it as a regular network printer, not using Airport.  Is this possible?  I haven't been able to hit on the right combination of settings.  I have a Samsung laser printer that works this way, and an Epson that is attached to an Airport Express, but all I get on the HP is garbage.  It will work when I set it up using the HP install disk, but I have to use Airport and I don't always get a good signal where the iMac is located.  I would prefer to use  the wired connection to my router and access the HP's IP address, like a wired network printer.     Any suggestions?

I'm using a Canon printer here which is networked via my Airport Express.  My printer cannot be Wi fi enabled simultaneousely with an ethernet cable connection. It is either or.  I realise that this doesn't fully answer your question, but I just wanted to give you a clue.  You'd need to consult your owners manual, or HP to get a definitive answer.
If you want to use the HP printer printer only with the wired ethernet connection to your router, that should be no problem as long as it is ethernet capable.
After setting it up for wired ethernet capability, you will need through the sequence of powering your router down, and resetting you Lan network so the router and printer can pick up their respective IP assignments.

  • How to open multi-windows to operate a remote compute using socket

    hi, please help me.
I want to develop a program, it can open multi-windows to operate the remote comput at one time just like NetTerm. It use socket to setup connection with remote computer.
Now I am using a Thread class to setup socket connection with computer, and use Thread's static varible to control all kinds of action of socket. But it can work only when openning one window, because all the thread instances share the same static variable.
How to do it? Not using Thread? Then the frame will be frozen.
    All adivse are welcomed.Thank you.

Maybe I don't say it clearly. The program need to show the output of the socket in the JTextArea and transfer the user input to the input of the socket to control the remote computer.

  • Windows 2012 routing and remote access service with same subnet

I have internal server IP range -192.168.1.0/24
Windows routing and remote access service  with vpn client IP -192.168.11../22
client side IP subnet is -192.168.1.0/24
So we wan routing \ NATING between  192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.11.0/22 so if vpn user try to ping 192.168.11.5 it should internally forward all request to 192.168.1.5

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that VPN client and internal network has the same IP range -192.168.1.0/24. And you want to transfer internal network from IP address 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.11.0/22.
Agree with Charles David’s point of view. The easiest way to fix routing confusion would be to either change the VPN subnet or the VPN client subnet.
Or, if you configure Windows Server(RRAS) as VPN server, you may enable NAT to transfer internal IP address:
    1. Open RRAS, add NAT.
    2. New interface to NAT and configure it as public interface.
    3. Open Address Pool tab, add IP address range 192.168.11.0/22.
    4. Click Reservations, add reserved IP(192.168.11.0/22) and corresponding internal IP(192.168.1.0/24) one by one.
This would be a lot of workload. Besides, you may use 3rd party devices to transfer subnet IP addresses.

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2 never finishes searching for updates and use 100% of CPU.

Hi everyone, I am having issues updating a clean Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2, so any help with be appreciated cause I've already tried all my cards for the past 5 days in this particular issue without success.
All I did so far is installing Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 2, open IE to update, it keeps searching for updates and never stop, after 20mn to 30mn the process svchost.exe start using 100% of my CPU.
I already tried the following scenarios:
1-  Install IE8, install the update KB927891 and the Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I already had this one installed). Reboot and run windows update trough IE8 and the problem did not solved.
2- Install those 2 software "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run" and "MicrosoftFixit50777", open IE to update, it still hangs and continues eating my CPU. This is the output of "MicrosoftFixit".
Windows Update error 0x8007000D(2014-01-06-T-06_06_34A) --> Not Fixed
Cryptographic service components are not registered (This service is actually running successfully) --> Not Fixed
3- I found the following script that would register some DLL, deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" and forcing windows update to solve the problem and nothing happened either.

Herein is the root cause of your issue. A topic that's been discussed in several blogs, forums, and even in the media since September regards a known issue with attempting to patch IE6 RTM via Windows Update.
Aside from that particular issue... browsing the Internet with an unpatched instance of IE6, especially from a Windows Server system, is also asking for a world of hurt.
    Might I suggest the following:
Download the IE8 for Windows Server 2003 installer to a thumb drive.
Download the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Server 2003 to a thumb drive.
Reinstall Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Upgrade to IE8 from the thumb drive installer and apply the
    Cumulative Security Update.
Now your machine is capable of safely browsing to Windows Update to install the rest of the updates (well, maybe, there's also all those other Security Updates from the past seven years that your machine still has vulnerabilites for -- even those seven
years of updates are going to take a Very Long Time to scan for, download, and install).
Why don't you have a WSUS server? -- noting, wryly, that you've posted in the *WSUS* forum.

  • Can i format a partition of a windows formatted HD for OS Extended?

things have gotten a little complicated over here but i think i finally have my windows 7 and windows xp installations on my mac pro.
the windows 7 is on my first hard drive in bay 1 "under" Lion via Boot Camp. from everything i have been able to gather we have formatted the second HD in bay 2 as a FAT32 or NTFS and actually installed windows XP right on a 300 GB partition on this drive. i know this sounds a little goofy but my understanding is that we have avoided installing Leopard (or whatever) on this second drive by going straight to the windows installation on this drive.
    here is my question.
i just went to backup the data in my Lion OS that is on my drive in bay 1 on the remaining 700 GB in the second partition on the HD in bay 2. however, i cannot do this because this HD is formatted for windows.
does anyone happen to know if i can just format this second /partition/ as a OSX Extended and use this leftover part of the drive as my internal backup of my Lion OS? i mean, i used to use this second HD as a daily internal backup of my Lion OS and i would like to use this space for this if at all possible.
TIA and advance apologies for anything unclear on that.

This is made incredibly complex by Mac OS X use of extensible GUID Partition Map including an EFI partition and (possibly a Recovery_HD partition as well) Vs. Windows insistence that:
    1) GUID Partition Map does not exist, and that
    2) MBR Partition Map is the only one in existence, and that
    3) no drive will EVER need more than four partitions total.
When you use BootCamp to put the Windows partition on a GUID drive (such as the Boot Drive) it adds an additional MBR partition Map to the existing GUID partition map. This allows Windows to boot off the same drive (Windows just reads the MBR partition Map it wants to see and ignores the GUID partition Map). This works UNTIL you use any Windows Utilities to modify partitions, after which Mac OS X becomes unreachable and will not boot properly again until you rebuild them both.
When you use Windows Utilities directly to partition a drive, it becomes a Window-only drive. To have Mac OS X use it as a Boot drive requires GUID partition Map and an EFI partition. Mac OS X needs to get in first, create the GUID Partition map, and then have BootCamp add and correctly maintain the MBR partition Map as well as the GUID partition Map.
Since Linux piggybacks on the Windows booting techniques to get Installed, there are some utilities from the Linux Open Source world, such as REFIt  (has EFI in the middle of its name) that are designed to manipulate both maps in concert. They may be worth consideration.

  • How can I open multiple "non-merged" firefox windows? With IE, I would use the "-nomerge" option. Is there something similar for Firefox?

I use a website in my daily work activities that I need to have multiple sessions of the website open at any given time. Natively, I cannot have multiple sessions open in a single browser (separated tabs or separate windows) without one session taking over the other. Internet Explorer has a command line option (-nomerge) that will allow me to accomplish what I need. The target line of the IE shortcut properties would look like this:
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nomerge
Is there a similar solution for Firefox?
    I am running Windows 7, IE11 and Firefox 26

  • How can I configure my IP Camera for remote access

    Hi All,
    I hope you can help.
I bought one of these http://www.wansview.com/Products/NCB-541W29654.html which seems to be a pretty common camera, made by I think Foscam (as the link on the site for setup links you to http://foscam.us/blog/foscamipcameras/guide-to-setting-up-your-foscam-fi8908w-wi relessly/
I got my camera set up all okay, and it is connected now wirelessly, however I'm having a huge problem getting it to connect so I can view it over the web ie access it from anotehr browser and see what is going on.
The remote instructions advise me to set up port forwarding, so I open my Airport Utility and log in to my Airport Extreme and I was following these instructions https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3415.
My airport extreme is version 7.6.1, and I'm using an iMac with Mountain Lion 10.8. And this is where I start having problems.
1: The apple support doc advises me to use 'manual mode' which I don't seem to have.
However I go to "Network" and from there I can see my router mode - set to 'Off (Bridge Mode)'. When I chnage this to DHCP only, it gives me an IP range 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.200 and as my camera is set to 10.0.0.58 this allows me to to reserve a "DHCP" for that camera.
2: When I then set update, I get a message saying "sahring a range of IP addresses using on DCHP requires manual config of my wan IP, get the static from the ISP and then manually configure through the range' - which doesn't seem right.
3: I change it to DCHP & NAT, but then the DCHP range has chnaged to 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200 which is then out the range of my camera. It does though open the 'port settings' function, thus allowing me to enter my public and private ports, but it won't take the camera IP that is set at 10.0.0.58, andf I can't enter 10.0.0. as this locked to 10.0.1
4: If though I save it, when my Airport re-boots, I get a "double-nat' error, whihc I have no idea what that is.
Any ideas please? My Airport is connected to a Thomson modem router supplied by my ISP (Big Pond in Australia)
Really appreciate your help and support here, many thanks!

By port forwarding.. called port mapping in airports.

  • Can 2 Macs connect with ethernet cable to share DVD for remote install?

Can I simply connect a Mac Mini Server and MacBook together with an ethernet cable?
I want to reinstall Mac OS X Server on the DVDless Mac Mini. There is no separate AirPort device.
So do I just connect the two machines with an ethernet cable, start the remote install program on the MacBook, then restart the Mac Mini with the Option key pressed?
    Thanks.

According to page 57 of the Getting Started 10.6 server manual, you can use a Mac with a DVD drive operating in target disk mode for this. I see no mention of using Ethernet so I assume it is not supported. Even if it was, it would be extremely slow compared to using FireWire target disk mode.

  • Can I print a contact sheet that includes the caption for each photo using Photoshop Elements 13 for Mac. I previously used Photoshop Elements 6 for the PC and could do this.

I just switched to a Mac and installed Photoshop Elements 13. I previously worked with many years with Photoshop Elements 6 on a PC where I used the contact sheet function -- with each's photo's caption included -- to print print a collection of 400+ member photos for a club I belong to. This worked beautifully. I assumed I'd still have this ability with my new software, but can't figure out how to do it. Help.

Try using psd.  Some rerports indicate some confustion between the apps with TIFF.  See:

I cannot confirm, nor test, since I use PS CS5, and not Elements.
