Can scan and copy, can't print

Hello, I bought this printer about one month ago. At the time i installed it, did some printing, did a scan and take some copy's. Yesterday i need to print some documents and nothing happens. What have i tried: remove and reinstall the printer via usbremove and reinstall the printer via networkdownload and updated all driverschange usb portchange usb cablerun Print and Scan Doctor for Windowsremoved windows update kb3079904 (since it's font related)  I still can do scans, so the connection to the printer is not the problem, i still can print when setup (reinstall , via web page or Print and Scan Doctor), i still can print via ipad and or android devices. I can't print via office applications, acrobat, any web browser I also notice that on the 22-07-2015 i had installed an optional update from HP related with BIDI (?!?!?) but can't find a way to uninstall to test if this is the culprit  What can i do more so that i can print again? PS: when print is submitted, if it's only one page, nothing happens, nothing is added to the printer queue, if more them one page is send to the printer i get an error saying that "an error has occured please try again later".  

Thanks for getting back to me , I have done a little bit more research and I found some more things you can try. Have you made sure your computer has all of it's windows updates? How can I tell if my computer is up to date? What you can try is to install and use an HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) in Windows 7. (Document link provided below) IMPORTANT: Leave the original printer in devices and printers so scanning and the HP software isn't affected. Just set the new PCL or Postscript printer as the default and ignore the original copy. Here is the link for the Microsoft Windows 7 Downloads;  expand the  Driver - Universal Print Driver (4) - and you can try either of these;HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit) Here is the document link on how to  Install an HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) using a USB connection to enable print-only function in Windows 7.  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Thanks,

    I also don't do Wirelss printing so I can't actaully help either.

  • Epson Artisan 810 issues - can scan and communicate but not print!

    I just purchased a new Macbook Pro (13") - my first ever Mac - and am trying to get it to print with my Epson Artisan 810. Like many others I am having problems but none of the posted solutions work for me.
    I installed it fresh initially with the drivers from the Epson website, I selected the Bonjour option, I was even able to download whatever update was out there through the Software Update feature, but still the same issue. The printer scans w/o a problem, it can tell me the ink levels and access the maintenance page w/o problems, but cannot print.
    Whenever I print SOME message must make it to the printer because as soon as I hit print the printer starts making noise as if it is going to load paper and print, but then almost immediately it cancels the print. The printer log ALWAYS give the same error no matter what document or program I try to print from:
    Error: /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpll.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpll failed
    I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer over and over and I keep getting this same error and immediate print job cancellation. What the heck is the problem here?

    John, I deleted the printer and deleted those folders and reinstalled the printer using the printer menu. When I tried the apple software update it said my software was up to date and didn't offer an option to get updated print drivers. I tried printing again and the same thing happened.

    I am trying to print from the Macbook to the Artisan entirely over a wireless network. The Macbook has not been plugged directly into the printer or to the router at any point in this. I did try what you suggested, resetting the printing system, and as earlier it did not offer any software updates when I looked for one. I tried printing again and the same result.
    I dug around some more directories and found some more files with the epson name in there and deleted those and then attempted to reinstall using the printer setup page, and then again tried a software update and again it didn't find any new drivers, and of course the same printing error occurred again.
    It sure appears that the MacOS is holding onto drivers somewhere that I cannot discover because when I reinstall the printer it takes it all of 3-4 seconds to install, and when I try to do the software update it is not finding any new drivers anywhere.
    Syd, I agree that there seems to be something specifically corrupted about the printer driver itself, however, but is there another way to remove drivers?
    Should I try uninstalling everything and attempting a USB installation to see if prints that way?

    In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
    That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
    Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
    Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
    While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

    I am using win 2000 server
    jdk 1.4.1.01
    java plug in 1.4.1.01
    I can open the java console.....
    if i select the text and press right clic ....i don't obtain any menus.....
    if i give clic in the title bar (of my java console) i obtain a menu wiht the following obtions:
    Mover
    Tama�o
    Minimizar
    Maximizar
    Cerrar Alt+F4
    And ctrol+c doesn't working.....
    Select the text and press enter...and in the text editor press control+v...and i dont obtain nothing.....:(

    If you just want to redeem the card then you shouldn't need to scan it in nor contact Support : redeeming a card.
    If you are having a problem with the code and need to contact Support about it then if you have a computer or a mobile phone with a camera on it then you can take a picture with that - or you can use a digial camera and import it to your computer so that you can attach it.

     ist it possible to use MP240 multifunction Device only for scan and copy without cartridges to be inside? how can i turn the error and warning messages and use only scanner ?

    Hello M4n0u,
    Both ink cartridges will need to be in the printer in order for the printer to scan, copy, or print, even if the ink cartridges are low or out of ink.  If both ink cartridges are installed, you can press and hold down the STOP/RESET button on the unit for at least 5 seconds, then release it to disable the ink level detection function of the printer and be able to scan until you are able to replace the ink cartridges.  Hope this helps!

  • HP Photosmart 5525 problem with scanning and copying

    Hello Everyone,
    I bought a new HP Photosmart 5525 few months ago and it was working fine with everything but suddenly it stopped scanning and copying. while copying it doesnt do anything and while scanning  it gives the error message
    " Scanner communicatioon cannot be established. Ensure your product is  powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly"
    i tried everything but i couldn't fix it. i would really appriciate any sort of help.

    I read about the issue you're having with copying and scanning from your Photosmart 5525 unit, and wanted to reach out to you.
    I would personally think that there could be a "Scanner failure" with your printer, and would like you to check out a post from my colleague @RnRMusicMan below and follow the guide he suggested to someone else with the same issue. If the copies still do not work when done troubleshooting, call technical support directly to discuss your printer replacement options with HP.

  • Scanning and Copying result in all black and lines. (with link to the scanned picture)

    Whatever I try to scan and copy, even blank, the result is the same all black and full of lines.

    The printer hasn't been used in a while, I just used it recently and the ink even dried out. Bought ink and printer's working fine.

  • Things that Pages can do and Word can't

    It seems to me that a fair number of posts are from people who expect Pages to do everything Word does. But Office has been around for a long time and is considerably more expensive. It would be nice if Peggy and a couple other experts could point out a few things that Pages does more easily that Word, or perhaps that Pages can do and Word can't. In other words, what are the advantages of using Pages over Word, other than complete independence from Microsoft?

    I'm neither Peggy nor an expert, but I've been using Pages since January 2005 -- which qualifies me as both an early adopter and a maschist. So I thought I'd weigh in.
    To me, the real beauty of Pages lies in how easy it is to put anything you want on the page, and move it to wherever you need it to be. That was true for Pages 1.0 and it's even more so today.
    I'm a novelist, so it's very important to me to find a word processor I'm comfortable with. I tried Word and was turned off by its bloat and complexity. I took Nisus Writer Express for a spin and was shocked by how it ruined my documents. I tried Mariner Write and found it to be compact, reliable, and mostly old-fashioned.
    When Pages 1.0 was released, I figured for $40, it was worth a go. Without reading a manual, I had set up a complete novel-writing template (with fonts, styles, page views, etc.) in 15 minutes that I still use. I think font-rendering is superb -- Pages documents just look better on the screen.
    I've even shown my completely non-technical wife how to use Pages, and she whips out gorgeous-looking documents on a regular basis for her work.
    I also appreciate the fact that it gives you a choice of how to use it: the inspector palette is there for those whose brains work that way. Most of the same tasks can be accomplished by using the format bar and the ruler. Or there's the menus.
    It's not perfect. It's slow on some people's systems, although not on my G4 iBook or my Intel iMac. Some folks are exasperated by its limp mail-merge capabilities. Other folks are infuriated that it doesn't offer an auto-save feature. And there's a variety of other wishes and things people grumble about. But, all in all, I think there's huge satisfaction with Pages -- not just because it isn't Word, but because it delivers the goods in its own right.
    Many, many people are doing very serious, meaningful, and professional work with Pages. Amazing when you consider that it's one of three applications in a suite that costs 79 bucks.

    This printer has the feature to copy from the printer itself.
    For scanning you have to use the software from the computer.
    I have provided a document for how to scan with and without HP software.
    Just select your operating system from the list. Scan.

  • HP AiO Remote will not recognize scan and copy function of HP Envy 120 printer

    Good morning! HP AiO Remote App is installed on my iPad4 and in the same WiFi network with my HP Envy 120 printer. The printer is recognized by the app and marked with a green led. When I tap on scan or copy in the app menu, it tells me that these functions were available in the app only for printers which provide these features. But HP Envy 120 has both scanner and copier. And last time it worked. Some idea what could have happened here? Thanks. UJ

    Hi UJKarl, welcome to the HP Forums. You should be able to scan from the HP AIO Remote App on your Envy 120 printer. You probably just need to power cycle the printer, iPad and router to regain proper function.
    Turn off your printer with the power button. Power down the iPad by holding the sleep button down until you get the option to 'slide to power off'. Then disconnect the power cord to your router and count to about 10, and then plug it back in. Once the router comes back online, turn the printer on. When the printer comes back online (blue wi-fi light stops blinking), then power the iPad back up. Try again, and it should work.

  • HP Scan and Capture Can't change the location that scanned documents go to

    I just upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I scanned a word document using HP Scan and Capture and the default location to save files is now "This PC".  I can see the folders under "This PC" and can save the document to one of the folders, but I can no longer browse to anything else.  If I click on This PC, I have the option to go to OneDrive, This PC or Network.  
    If I click on Network - I can type in \\mycomputer but it just let's me select a folder.  I'm trying to get to an external hard drive and I've tried typing \\external drive,  \\f, \\f:, \\f:\
    Anyone have any suggestions? I've gone to the preference section of HP Scan and Capture and when I select that I want to change the default location where I save the files, it puts me back to the This PC area.

    I see you are running into issues with your scans save location.  I would like to try and assist.
    I would recommend creating a new destination folder, and manually type out the full file path.
