Can send but not recieve mail

For some reason the emails that are sent to me are not coming through. Sending works just fine but i can't recieve any.
I called my service provider to check all my settings...he said i had a couple of emails that really large and that was probably the problem....he deleted them but still nothing.
Any suggestions?

yeah, i should have mentioned that..sorry. IT's POP, but it looks like deleting the large emails by my ISP worked....except all the pending emails that he said existed have not come through.

Can send but not get mail....

This is strange - my mailserver has imap/ssl/password. Before 3.0 upgrade all worked fine (hm... except a couple of days when I just got my Iphone where actualle the very same problem showed up, but suddenly started to work).
So, I can connect to server and send mail. But I can't connect to server to read/fetch mail (connection failed message).
I've exact same configuration on my macbook - working like a charm. Tested to remove account on Iphone and recreate, resync, you name it. Still not possible to read, only send.
Why???

Anyone with any ideas are welcome....
Now I dropped all mail accounts on the phone and resynched with iTunes to recreate all mail accounts. Still - one of the accounts will not work. Possible to send but not read mail. And it is working on the mac.

I have tried to push mail though, switched phone off and logged off on my desktop. But I can send but not receive.

Is this IMAP or POP account?
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.

I can send but not recieve my e-mails from gmail.

I am able to send messages from my outlook/Thunderbird account through my gmail account, but not receive them. Once in a while I can, but not for the last 3 days. I can go to gmail through google and get them, though. It's not the way I have done it for the past forever years. Please help

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.
Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

From mac mail, I can send but not receive mail. Also, on the same mac, I can run mail through Entourage and no issues with sending or receiving

All my folders are there - all contacts...
but keep getting the error, connection to the server has failed.
But like i said, can send mail, sync contacts...surf web...

Have you tried sending yourself an email to see if that one comes in? Have you logged into your email account on a computer to check your email just to make sure that everything is OK there? Have you checked the incoming server settings to make sure that your username and password are correct?

I have tried everything in the above link before posting. I now have two Ipad mini's doing the exact same thing (different email's) and one Ipad with another email set up exactly the same that works fine. All email go to the same account and although the mini's say they cannot connect the emails still successfully send. They just cannot recieve email's.

Everything was fine then I kept getting a message saying incorrect user name or password and could not recieve email.

Have you tried to remove and then re enter your account info? Sometimes things get messed up and the only way to fix it is to just start over.

Hi there.
So I have this weird problem, I can sent faxes, no problems here, but I there is a problem with the incoming faxes.
When I recieve a fax, the regular routine happens, apparently everything is ok from the sender side but I got no faxes on the Fax folder in my home folder (and no email either, even if I checked this option).
If I refer to the fax menu item, I can see the call, the reception and all the regular process, but no activity on the "internal modem" window.
I got a quicksilver G4, with the builtin apple v.90 modem.
I never had this problem before.

Can send but not receive mail

I have a macbook with OS 10.5.8 and Mail 3.6
I have an imac with OS 10.4.11 and Mail 2.1.3
Both have been working fine with my mac.com / me.com account for a long time but Mail and the MacBook has suddenly stopped receiving messages - although it can still receive them. I've compared the settings on the two computers and they still look identical.
Any suggestions as to what to try next?

Let's check whether the rules could have a bearing on this:
1. Quit Mail.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/.
3a. If running Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), locate MessageSorting.plist and move it to the Desktop. If there is a file called MessageSorting.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too.
3b. If running Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), locate MessageRules.plist and move it to the Desktop. If there is a file called MessageRules.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too. You may also see the old MessageSorting.plist files there; they are no longer used by Mail 2.x, so just move them to the Trash if you see them.
4. Open Mail. As a result of removing the rules file, the junk filter will be disabled now. You may want to either tell Mail to go offline immediately after opening it, or shut down the Internet connection before opening Mail, to prevent it from downloading anything until the junk mail filter has been enabled again.
5. Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk filtering, and configure it however you wish.
6. Go online again if you went offline in step 4.
If the problem persists after doing this, then you know the rules have no bearing on it, and you may move the files on the Desktop back to the ~/Library/Mail/ folder, overwriting any files Mail may have created anew there (quit Mail first).
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder.

Installed Thunderbird on second machine(Surface Pro 3 128) using exact settings, can send but not recieve

No error messages, looks as if it is receiving but nothing. Setup exactly like windows 7 machine. Auto settings do and did not work on other machine but the settings my ISP provided do. Have emulated these on the Surface Pro. No recieve

I just started to have the same issue. I have multiple PC's all running outlook 2013 and one of them just stopped receiving mail.
The others work fine, and yeah I check that it is set to receive mail in the options, along with many other typical tasks like dissabling the av.
This is on WIN 7 pro.
I have uninstalled office. Deleted my ost and pst. Reinstalled office and re-created my mail account. Same issue. There must be some other setting in my profile or registry that is persisting
I am about to go back to Office 2010, I have already gone back to Win 7 after a terrible experience with 8.1 and its media centre licence issue and lack of driver support (which worked under WIN 8!!).

What is the account type? Exchange, IMAP or POP3? Is it working fine to receive emails on Webmail(OWA)? It is preferred if you could provide any error code/message.
The first thing that should be checked up is if the account has been setup properly, you may need to contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider) to get the information you need to setup the account.
If you press Send/Receive All Folders button, can you get new messages? Please go to
SEND/RECEIVE tab -> Send/Receive Groups ->
Define Send/Receive Groups -> For All Accounts, under
Setting for group "All Accounts", set Schedule an automatic send/receive every "X" minutes, we can set
X as you need.
Please create a new profile to test if the issue persists:
