Can SES crawl UCM 11.1.1.3?
Can this actually be set up? I'm asking even though the latest version of UCM has SESCrawlerExport it does not appear to have IDC on port 7777 and there does not seem to be a way to set that up. When deploying from UCM, the IDC port is set to 4444, but you can not use http://localhost:4444/idc/idcplg to configure the server as stated in the documentation (well, it uses 7777 instead, but now that port is not used at all). Instead, UCM now uses http://localhost:16200/cs/idcplg to configure the server. So I attempted to use http://<hostname>:4444/idc/idcplg and http://<hostname>:16200/cs/idcplg to activate the Oracle Content Server crawler and both have failed (BTW, setting up the proxy server to ignore oracle.com and oraclecorp.com appears to cause the crawler activation to generate bad XML). So can I set this up or do I need a new crawler?

I have setup a SES Crawler Export on my UCM, and have a SES crawl this export, and it works fine. However sometimes SES does not crawl the newly created documents in UCM, and the only way I can get this done, is by manually trigger a SES Crawler Export from UCM (take a new snapshot) and then let SES crawl the export again.
When does the UCM trigger the SES Crawler Export? Does it run by a schedule? I have found no configuration/documentation of this, can I change the schedule?

If you think it is SES related, please try to explain your problem more clearly. For example I don't know what "IBR" is. -
File not found exception with SES crawler

I have integrated oracle SES with UCM 11g.
when i shedule the crawler i am getting this exception.

EQG-30236: Crawler plug-in fatal error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /poc11g/idcplg%3FIdcService=SES_CRAWLER_DOWNLOAD_CONTROL&source=SESVzCrawler (No such file or directory)
I am very sure the issue is with feed location.I am not sure how to append complete URL

SES : Crawle multi-languages webSite
Hello,
I want to crawle a multi-language webSite with SES 11g (11.1.2.0.0), the webSite doesn't have a differents page per language, but it's a same page (URL) with the translation labels.
When i change the language in menu I noticed those 3 cookies changed :
LOGIN_NLS=zh-cn;
portal_language=zh-cn;
NLS_LANGUAGE=zh-cn,zhs,CHINA;
How can I crawle the webSite in the 3 languages ?

<translate id="hello.world"/>. That at least is how I make multi language website. -

SES crawling CDB coming with Webcenter Suite (bug 5851494)

I'm preparing a demo and ran into difficulties crawling a 10.1.3.2 CDB store with SES 10.1.8. I've seen a statement in bug 5851494 whereby CDB 10.1.3.2 ist not supported with a 10.1.8 crawling. I thought that would be helpful to address this topic in the OWCS space since Content DB is used from the WebCenter installation. Can anyone please verify the statement of bug 5851494 ?hi detlef,
currently SES 10.1.8 can only crawl CDB using S2S security. CDB 10.1.3.2 uses web services security (WSS).
we are working on a crawler that is able to use WSS to index CDB.
as an alternative you could use CDB 10.2 which provide S2S and can be crawled by SES 10.1.8.

Anybody know what the SearchIndexerEngineName parameter should be set to in the UCM config file when using SES as the search engine?
BillAccording to the documentation, there is a way of using SES with 10g and I am halfway there. You start by installing the OracleTextSearch component and go from there. The steps are in the OracleTextSearch Installation and Administration Guide and are generally as follows...
1) Install the SES crawler
2) Install the OracleTextSearch component
3) Run a couple of database scripts to modify the database
4) Modify the UCM config paramaters to be:
SearchIndexerEngineName=OracleTextSearch
IndexerDatabaseProviderName=SystemDatabase
At this point the text search component is working great. The next step is to connect it to the SES index, which is what I am about to try. The documentation says to...
1) Stop the SES database
2) Start the SES database back end
but this seems too simple and unless some magic occurs in the background I'm not sure what it accomplishes. Plus the doucmentation seems to end abruptly followed by a blank page so I am suspicious. -
How can SES enhance my product?
Hi,
I am using an Oracle Self Service Application. Oracle has provided a lot of search screens that basically pull data out of the database. I then navigate to other screens to perform a lot of actions by acting on any search item. Typical Oracle style huh!
Now my question is how can SES help me enhance my product. What am I gonna use it to search for within the application other than what is already provided?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I think the main points for you are:
a) SES allows you to crawl Self Service sources using a nice template mechanism whereby users can specify their own Self Service credentials to have their repositories searched, without you needing to acquire them.
b) SES exposes a fairly rich web service API that will allow you to integrate it's functionality into your application.

Can't start UCM server after new installation of 11.1.1.8 on Microsoft server 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit EE
Hi All
After new installation of WCC 11.1.1.8 on Microsoft server 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit EE UCM_server1 can’t start. (Please see trace below). WCC 11.1.1.7 run without issues on this environment.
Steps:
1. Installation of jrockit-jdk1.6.0_45-R28.2.7-4.1.0
2. Installation of WLS 10.3.6
3. Installation of WCC 11.1.1.8
4. Schema creation by RCU 11.1.1.8
5. Domain creation by config.cmd with AdminServer, UCM_server1, IBR_server1
6. Run Admin - (success)
7. Run NodeManager (optional) - (success)
8. Run UCM_server1 – failed
Still not works after patching MLR 1 for WCC 11.1.1.8 or upgrade from 11.1.1.7 .
From log files we can saw that problem caused by JniNativeOsUtils.dll file in “<Middleware Home>\Oracle_ECM1\ucm\idc\components\NativeOsUtils\lib\windows-amd64\7.2.1.1”
I replaced JniNativeOsUtils.dll with same file from 11.1.1.7 version and UCM_server1 starts work
I got errors during startup (syNativeOsUtilsNotLoaded and UnsatisfiedLinkError - you can foun them in trace below), but WCC up and works.
I also get error when trying to start SystemProperties or ComponentWithard utility:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\USER_P~1\domains\WCC_DO~1\ucm\cs\bin\SystemProperties.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

Can't crawl publishing portal content
I've got a single service account running my search service app and i can crawl my single site collection / web app which is https://intranet.domain.co.uk and i can run a full crawl but it only picks up the default content and pages in the crawl log.
I've got several word and excel files in the default document library but i can't find those or any other results when i perform a search.
The content source is set to crawl 'sharepoint sites' and doesn't produce any errors after a crawl and reports back 45 or so success items which are the aspx pages i mentioned above. I have also created a crawl rule with the URL to no effect.
Any idea why? The search service account has full read to the web app via user policy in CA and I've given it read access to the content db in SQL.Check the URL for one of the items in the crawl logs, check that it's present.
Confirm that the document is published

when I login in UCM Server by using administrator, clicking manager in the left Navgation, then clicking manage applet

Looks like browser setting required while loading the java applet.
Go to Control Panel--> Java--->Advanced-->Default Java for browsers and based on your browser apply your settings.

Nothing can be crawled from DB... WHY?

I set up a database source with a table in it. However, after being crawler, no data had been crawled according to log.
