Can show_window call to create a detached window in FORMS 10g?

Now, I am migrating forms6i to form10g. In Form6i, show_window can create a new window not in the area of the current window. However, in forms10g, I can only create a window in the area of current window, and can not move it out current window.

Create pop-up windows in forms 10g

I have an application in which several formal controls are made before insert/update a record. Some of them are blocking, some others arent.
Actually, at every constraint violation, a message is displayed with an alert. So, the user may got one or more alerts before he succeed in inserting/updating a record. And it may be annoying to click on 'OK' a lot of times!
So, I wish to collect all error message and display them in a window, which is to be displayed in a pop-up way (something like the alerts that appear at the bottom-right corner of our screen when we have new mail).
The issue is that the pop-up window must not disturb the user, i.e it should be displayed and iconized after few seconds, leaving the focus on the main window.
I tried several solutions, but each of them have some issues.
External HTML page: maybe its the easiest solution. But bluring it, the focus doesnt return to the form application.
New window: I can run and iconize it. But, as in the previous case, the main window lost the focus.
New canvas: I put a text item LOG_ERRORS in a new canvas, in the same main window. But when I run it, the main canvas disappear.
does anyone know how to create popup windows in forms 10g (if it is possible)?

You can use a new window and set "Window Style" to "Dialog" then you can show the window without the main-window loosing the focus

How can I call the create method in BO from Application Service

Hello!
When I create a Business Object, CAF generates some methods automatically.
How can I call the create method in the BO from Application Service logic?
When i call the method then the entityManager and the sessionContext is NULL.
How can I initialize this?

If you are using CE 7.11...
1) In the Application Services, add the BO as dependant object in dependencies tab.
2) In the implemention, add the following codes to call create method of the BO:

Can't open new tab in DETACHED window.

I use software that allows me to detach a window for a certain feature. In the last version of Firefox (3.?), I could right click on a link in the detached window and it would open in that detached window. Now with Firefox 4, it opens it in the original window so I have to move it over to the detached window. Or I have to copy the current tab into a new tab, then open the feature I want. Either way it's a pain. Can I fix this?

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

Can u call a BIP Report from within Oracle Forms?

We want to use BIP as a reports solution for a Forms 10g Application. Currently we use oracle Reports. I would be very grateful if anybody can show us how to do the following as I could not find it in any documentation. Of course, I get the feeling that these cannot be done, but I want to double-check.
(1.) How to call a BIP report with a input parameters from within an Oracle 10g Menu? i.e. when the user clicks on the menu item, BIP should be started and it should run the report within the BIP.
-- So we also need a way to pass parameters to the BIP
-- Also BIP has a different username/password also
Is this possible or NOT POSSIBLE( i.e. U have to ask the user to login to BIP and then run the report)?

Calling BO XI Release 2 from Oracle Forms 10g

Hello everybody,
We are going to migrate the Oracle Database and the Oracle forms application to 10g to one of our clients but he wants continue using the BO so he is going to migrate BO v 4.1.6 to XI Release 2.
Because I am not a BO specialist I would like to know
Is it possible to publish the BO report on the WEB?
Can I call the report directly from Oracle Forms 10g (WEB) and pass the parameters?
Can you advice any documents related to this topic?

Your first question leads to a "it depends" answer. If you want to publish static content, then the report can be ran and saved as PDF, then that PDF can be made available as a link in another web server. If you want to publish dynamic content, then "no", but read on because you'll see in answer to #2 and #3 it becomes "yes".
Your second question about calling the report directly from Oracle Forms and pass the parameters is a resounding yes! However, you will need to have an enduring knowledge of a concept called "opendocument" within the Business Intelligence tool as well as an authentication strategy to make it all work.

How can I disable the "create custom shape" window?

When I'm using the custom shape tool in CS6, it will often bring up a new window labeled "create custom shape". It's really disruptive and I'd like to know how I can disable it to prevent it from poping up.

OK I can now get the dialog window to pop up with a single click in a document with my mouse or intuos tablet. I had never seen that popup. Under normal conditions with the mouse I use and my old Intuos 2 now replaced with an Intuos 5 with default sensitivity setting I never saw that popup. Now that I know it exists and how to get it I can pop it up. Try changing your Wacom feel perhaps your getting extra single clicks.

In Forms 6i you probably did use RUN_PRODUCT to call reports. In 9i onwards you should use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT instead.

Hello,
It is not possible. You cannot create blocks or items at runtime. What you can do is to have them created but hidden, then you set them visible as soon as you need them.

I suspect your problem is that the child window hasn't been created by the time you call the function in the parent.Loading the content is an asynchronous processes -- AIR doesn't stop executing your code until the window has finished loading child.html. So, you will need to add an eventlistener to html2 and call the function from there:

Prasad,
there are several possibilities to do that. it essentially depends which version of forms/reports you are using.
use HTTP request (6i + 9i): you construct a regular reports URL and use web.show_document or the database UTL_HTTP to submit it to the server.
use event driven publishing API (9i) : you use this database API (which is shipped with 9i) to invoke the report from PL/SQL
use the reports web services (9i 9.0.4) : this option will be available in the upcoming release where you can submit jobs via a web service.
common to all three methods is that you need to create the scheduling form in forms and then use either method to submit the job. advantages of the latter two would be that you actually get statusinformation back.
