Can smart builds include other actions? Or can I copy a build?

I have a smart build with dissolves in and out. A few slides do need bullet builds. So far it seems that I'll just have to build the presentation slide by slide in order to incorporate the different builds. Any suggestions?
Also, a possibly related question: can I copy a build from one slide to another? I hoped that copying/pasting the build details would result in the same action for the new slide, but no luck so far. If I could do this, it would expedite the main question, as I could copy the dissolve in/out from Slide 1, then paste it into, say, all 20 slides, then modifying only slide 14.

Sure, Tulse. Say I have 20 slides. I know I can do a smart build that will let them all dissolve in/out, and I can loop it, to let it run on its own. All good. But a couple of the images need to expose bullet-by-bullet. So far, it seems that once I use a smart build, I can't change any individual slides.
Re: copying a build, I'd hoped that the transitions might transfer from slide to slide, as a spreadsheet changes references ("B2+C2" pasted in subsequent rows below becomes B3+C3, B4+C4, etc. So if I'd copy and paste a particular build (dissolve in/out), subsequent slides would adapt likewise, and then for the two exceptions, I'd just build them separately.
If I have to build 18 separate identical dissolves in/out, and two with bullet-by-bullet, I will. I'd just rather see if I've missed some detail that would expedite it.

Can Smart Folders include "all" or "any" criteria?

Hi there everybody,
A question for you all. When I create a smart folder it uses the criteria I choose and asumes that I want to find files/images, etc. that meet "all" of the criteria (for example Mail Smart mailboxes can be created that meet "any" criteria you choose, thereby broadening your search, instead of "all" criteria that limits your search).
Since Finder's Smart Folders create a search based on "all" criteria, it limits my search, but I want to broaden my search to include other criteria (meets "any" of my chosen criteria, or meets this "or" that criteria). Can I do this with Smart Folders?
Also, can I tell a Smart Folder to grab a Smart Mailbox and include it in my Smart Folder search?
My ultimate goal is to use Tiger to create a project folder with contacts, calendars, emails and files associated together. Then there would be no need to worry about more software, worries of integration with iApps, etc.

No. Smart Folders are very simple by design.
You will need to wait for a new version of the OS to allow that functionality or access the index with another tool to do more advanced boolean searches.

I just remembered I have a couple of screen snaps online to explain how
it's done:
1. place your base image and name it in the inspector
2. from the smart objects palette grab the head action item, the one
with a question mark in its upper, green half - the 2nd one from the
left. Drop that into the pages head section.
3. in the inspector set the action to run OnLoad and select the base
image that you named in the first step and set the other parameters.
This was done in the days of GL6, but not much had changed in GL CS.
Anyway you might also refer to GL's online help. It describes how to set
up all the actions that ship with GL.

How can we copy actions from one project folder to other projects in OSB?
For eg:
I have a service call out action in Project1/proxySer1
I want to copy this to Project2/proxySer2.
Espicially, in our case error handling callout is common to all of our projects and we should be able to copy from one to another.

It was my fault. I was on two different servers, while i was doing this and so didn't work. But copy /past action works as you suggested.
Can I select multiple actions from one stage and paste to different proxy service? I have too many options to copy/paste and hence I have this question.
Is there any other way of copying all selected actions in one stage to another, but not the complete stage itselft?

Can't copy text inside stop message box when recording action

Hi everybody, I'm creating a few PS actions and I wrote a piece of text that I want to show by a "insert stop" rule at the begining of every action.
Problem is this: when I copy the text (from TextEdit) and go to the dialogue box on Photoshop, text simply doesn't paste. If i have to write it on every single action it will be a neverending work!
Am I doing anything wrong!?

I Can't copy the vi after build application

I copy the vi and make it run using vi server, it works great in the development environment. But when i build application,
it seems to can't copy. I know the path of application is different with development environment. the VI is in a internal.llb of exe.
I try many ways of copy the vi, and place a indicator on the path of the copy vi, but every time I find it is "not a path"
Why?

There are all kinds of differences between LV and the run-time engine, but I don't think they should affect copying of VIs (even built ones). I suggest you post your code so we can look at it.
By the way, if you what you want is multiple copies of your VI, all you need to do is rename its extension to vit and call it using VI server. A new copy will be created in memory each time you do this with each copy having its own memory space and FP. Search the example finder for VI templates and you will probably find some examples.
Addition - if you're trying to copy the VI into the exe, that is probably the reason for this as the exe would be write protected when it's running and you can't write into it. You shouldn't change an executable yourself anyway, as I think they're signed and changing them might cause the RTE not to run them.

Today I bought some songs from another website on my computer, but I couldn't find them in the "my music" folders, I signed on to itunes and found them there. If the music is on the same computer, import the songs to your iTunes library by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows). actually, I have once copied dbx to other machine. certainlly, it needs a license. But when I copied
a license file from the directory /opt/SUNWspro/license-dir/ of machine that installed Workshop
to another machine that i want to run dbx. dbx starts correctly. but when i type

If yes, as far as I know that when we copy test plan with test results to other team proejcts. It is default that
there just will not copy the test plan with test results (pass/fail) to other team project in MTM.

Can't copy text from InDesign to other applications

Hi there,
Whenever I try to copy text from InDesign to any other applications, it simply fails. When I get to my text editor, email program, Illustrator or Photoshop, it's like the clipboard is empty.
I'm able to copy shapes and other objects, though. I can also copy entire text boxes, but if I'm copying to Illustrator, for instance, all the lines of text are separated. It's treated as an object and is pretty useless for typical formatting needs.
I'm on Mac OS X Mountain Lion, using InDesign CS5.
Can anyone help?

I tried unchecking "copy PDF", and also quit the only slightly-clipboard related app I use, Quicksilver, but it didn't fix the problem.

I want to copy and paste a simple rectangle.
I drawed a rectangle with the Rectangle Tool.
I marked it with the Move Tool.
If I go to Edit->Copy and then to Copy->Paste
I see still only one rectangle. Could be
one is overlayed by the other but I don't
know how to separate them afterwards.
So I tried to move the first rectangle to another place
before click on Edit->Paste.
I then get a copy of the first rectangle. But the problem is that they
react as they would be one shape and not as two differnt shapes.
I can only move the two rectangles as they would be one shape
and they are also marked as they would be one shape.
And I can only mark them as they would be one rectangle.
But I want two independent rectangles.
How can I in Photoshop CS6 copy and paste rectangles or other shapes so
that the copy is independent of the original shape?

You can have both copies in the same shape layer, but you will not be able to move them as separate objects anymore. To merge them into the same shape layer select both layers in the layers pallete by holding down CTRL and clicking on a PC or holding down Command and clicking on a Mac:
Then click the Panel menu in the layers pallete:
Then choose Merge Shapes from the pop up menu that appears:
And that's it! Now both shapes will be in the same shape layer.
