Can solaris kernal paramter dynamically be configured?

Hi,
I want one regarding SUN Solaris OS.
As in UNIX we can change kernel parameter dynamically for the current instance using echo command, can we change kernel parameter dynamically SUN Solaris?
For example as we can set kernel parameter in UNIX using following command without restarting the server
echo 2147483648 > shmmax
Does it possible in SUN Solaris also?

Hi,
As you both correctly understood and suggested, the content of the r/w rule file can be changed or a file can be copied before opening the file. How do I change other value for XMLEncoding and XML Display Encoding ?
DTD:
Template:
Read/write rules:
XML Export Encoding:
XML Display Encoding:
Is there an API availabe in FDK that sets the values for these parameters?KSC5601-1992EUC-KR$STRUCTDIR\xml\gfs-str\rules.fm$STRUCTDIR\xml\gfs-str\uk_simple_template.fm$STRUCTDIR\xml\gfs-str\SingleSrc.DTD

  • Dynamic filename configuration via custom EJB

    Hi Experts,
We are doing a poc on whether we can do the dynamic filename configuration,i.e. set the file name dynamically in a custom EJB deployed on the server and called in the sender comm. channel of any J2EE based adapter.
The requirement is for some interfaces, there is no mapping requirement other then setting the filename dynamically, which maybe based on a certain value of the input file or a specific portion of string in the payload.
The custom EJB takes the namespace and attribute as input parameters along with other string manupulation parameters to determine the receiver file name. That is if we are using sender JMS adapter, we can have namespace = http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS and attribute as DCJMSMessageProperty1. The bean would read the value and perform the manipulation based on certain other input parameters and set the file.
There is one particular bean : AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean but it does not allow us to manipulate the filename.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • SOAP Receiver : Dynamic URL configuration vs. TAuthKey capability

    Hello all,
I plan to use dynamic URL configuration of web service URL in SOAP Receiver CC. I got an idea, which is more or less described on SDN already. But one thing bothers me a lot.
In my scenario we talk about 10 and more WebServices' URLs to be called dynamically. The WS call will include also authorization username:passwd and it is expectable, that each WS will have different uname:passwd definition to be authorized with.
I made a capability analysis of SOAP Receiver CC - tab Advanced - Authetication keys and there are prepared only 10 possibilities to define password for authentication key (which I'll handle to CC via TAuthKey parameter).
In the help page http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/29/5bd93f130f9215e10000000a155106/frameset.htm there is a note regarding authentication key:
If authentication is required for the receiver system, you can enter a password with confirmation for each key value. This means that you do not need to write passwords in the enhanced message header.
So in other words there should be a way, how to send to CC even the password with other adapter-specific message attributes. (or maybe I miss the meaning of this comment, like the other way is to develope own module for CC and process additional attribs from enhanced message header)
Does anyone have some experience with handling the authentication data in "enhanced message header" ?
Thanx for you info in advance.
    Regards
    Tom

    Hi all,
I got an idea that the solution could be to use "Enhanced receiver determination" and use a set of Services-CommChannels with special naming convention. With this (little bit complicated) scenarion I'll get a possibility to define more then one SOAP Receiver CC => I'll get more than 10 options to store the logon password.
    What do you think ?
    Points for ideas guaranteed.

  • How to change destination table dynamically in configuration file in ssis?

    hello,
i have a package i am having one data flow task.in data flow task i have one source and one destination.source and destination are different.i have created xml configuration file by configuring source and destination connection
    strings.
now i want to change destination in the same server to different database with out opening the package.i want to directly change in the config file.we can change it by modifying configured value proerty and intial catalogue value.but if the table is not
existed in the changed database.how we can create it dynamically.

    HI jiri Neoral,
thanks for reply,as you said above process by this we can do change only databasename.if in my destination database, the table which i used in package is not existed, can we create it dynamically
using config file.later changing table name is possible?
For that you need to have a step in SSIS package prior to data flow task to check if table exists and if not create it
You can use  execute sql task with query like below
    IF OBJECT_ID('TableName') IS NULL
    CREATE TABLE TableName

  • Can Solaris 8 be installed on 2nd HD?

I have 1 IDE HD and 2 SCSI HDs. The installer (interactive
mode) always points to my Master IDE Drive to make fdisk Solaris partition. Is anyone installed Solaris 8 to the other drive?

This is not simple, I think. I tried it a few times without success. Then I tried this (my system has 2 IDE HDs): I unconnected my master HD and connected my slave HD as master. Then I installed Solaris. After this I connected the HDs like before. Then I booted with the Solaris boot diskette. After configuring devices you can choose "boot tasks". After changing the default boot path it was possible to boot from the 2nd HD. Unfortunately you can only boot with the diskette. I tried to use LiLo Bootmanager to boot from the solaris boot partition on the 2nd HD but without success. Perhaps it is possible to copy this partition to master HD and change boot options permanently but I didn't try this.
(Sorry, when I wrote this I realized I have to improve my English:)

  • Fresh install of solaris 10 x86 hangs after 'Configuring devices'

    Hi All,
I just received a new SuperMicro server with an LSI MegaRAID SAS 9261-8i controller. While trying to install Solaris 10 it hangs after "Configuring devices". I checked the LSI page and Solaris 10 is supported according to them. Any ideas how to proceed?
Fairly new to Solaris on x86 hardware.
The system has a Xeon X5690 processor in an Intel Workstation Board S5520SC motherboard. The motherboard documents claim that not disabling usb 2.0 can hang an install. I have disabled the usb 2.0 in the bios but the system still hangs. Booting it with the -kd and -kv options don't give much information.
Any help is appreciated. I might be returning these machines if I can't get this worked out.
    Cheers,
    Steve

See if you can add the verbose option "-v" to the kernel boot options. I think you can get to the GRUB menu off the Solaris 10 install disk. That should tell you what device is causing the hang, or at least the last device that worked.
Also, can you try Solaris 11 and see if it gets past that point? A few years ago I has a similar issue with Solaris 10 on a Dell server. Solaris 11/OpenSolaris worked fine, though. IIRC I could work around the issue if I disabled the 2nd CPU - Solaris 10 had a problem bringing up the 2nd CPU on that Dell's CPU/MB config.

  • WLC DHCP Settings - Under Dynamic Interface configuration

    Hi Guys,
If I have a dynamic interface that is connected to a subnet where the router interfaces have DHCP servers configured under the helper address commands, do I need to configure the DHCP fields under the dynamic interface configuration?
I have helper address configured on the connected routers AND these fields configured with the same DHCP servers.
Just wondering if I can take the IPs out of the WLC configuration?
    Many thx indeed,
    Ken

Ken, the DHCP address under the dynamic interface, is the address the WLC will unicast the DHCP request to when a client tries to use that interface. Under normal operation this address is needed. There is a way to get the WLC to bridge the packet to the wire so that it is a broadcast instead of a unicast packet. CLI command is config dhcp proxy disable.
But I do believe that even if you issue the CLI command, the software wants the DHCP address listed under the dynamic interface.

    Steve

Yes, you can configure multiple dynamic-to-static l2l on ASA. But for multiple connections using ezvpn will be much easier. Following links may help you

  • Solaris Cluster  4.1 Quorum Configuration Best Follows metaset OR ZFS?

Solaris Cluster 4.1 Quorum Configuration Best Follows metaset OR ZFS?

If you want to use a quorum device - in contrast to a quorum server - then you'll need a LUN to configure your quorum device on.
It does not matter whether this LUN will be used later as a zpool or as an SVM metaset.
There is one exception, that should be mentioned in the docs. If the LUN used for the quorum device is later used as a disk for a zpool, and this disk gets a new EFI label, then, I think, the quorum information can get overwritten. So be careful in this specific situation and consult the docs before doing so.

  • Can I install more than one configurator profile

I want to develop 3 or maybe 4 layers of iPad iOS8 restrictions & Passcode rules.
For example ALL iPads will have enforced Passcode rules, but only SOME iPads ill require content filtering & SOME require Control centre in lock mode.
The actual working groups of iPads require a lot more complicated set of config elements - above is only an example.
I'd like to create & install different profiles & INSTALL MORE THAN ONE PROFILE.
I have tested this on a few iPads & it seems to work.
My question is - Is this the recommended way / is there a problem if i install more that one profile ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Kind Regards
    George kennedy.

We install many configuration profiles on each of our devices. We only use one payload per configuration profile so that we can be very granular with our configurations. What I don't know is what would happen if you installed 2 configuration profiles with conflicting restrictions (i.e. one configuration profile allows Messages, and another does not allow Messages). We just make sure we install only one restrictions configuration profile, and then a bunch of other configuration profiles (mail and calendar settings, web clips, WiFi profiles, etc) on each device.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I list all the domains configured for Weblogic Servers?

How can I list all the domains configured for Weblogic Servers?
I saw a note, which says the following:
"WebLogic Server does not support multi-domain interaction using either the Administration Console, the weblogic.Admin utility, or WebLogic Ant tasks. This restriction does not, however, explicitly preclude a user written Java application from accessing multiple domains simultaneously."
In my case, I just want to list all the domains, is that possible by using any scripts?
    Thanks
    AJ

If you use WLS Node Manager and the Config Wizard was used to create the domains, then the list of domains should be in a location like this:
    <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains
Enterprise Manager Grid Control also has support for multi-domain management of WLS in a console.

  • How can I do a dynamic include of a page fragment?

I have a technical support website with a lot of simple html pages. What I want to do is hyperlink from the index page to another page, which would display these html pages as a page fragment, dynamically based on a session bean set by the hyperlink.
I basically want to do this, if it was possible:
    <jsp:directive.include file="#{SessionBean1.pageToDisplay}"/>
Now the FAQ's has a topic "How can I do a dynamic include of a page fragment?", which would seem to answer my question.
But this is all it says, and it makes no sense to me. Could someone please translate? :)
"Using a page fragment file (but using instead of the usual Creator approach) will accomplish a dynamic include."

    Here is 1 solution:
First add this to the jsp:root tag:
    xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"
Then surround the page fragment directive with something like this:
                            <div style="position: absolute; left: 24px; top: 408px">
                                <c:if test="${SessionBean1.count > 0}">
                                    <jsp:directive.include file="testPF.jspf"/>
                                </c:if>
                            </div>

  • Can't read the base station configuration

I just set up my AirPort Express using the Airport Utility, connected to Comcast high-speed Internet service. for some strange reason, the base station still has the "amber light blinking," while I seem to have no trouble with Internet connection (I'm on right now). but when I opened the utility again to set up Airtunes, I get the message, "reading base station configuration" then it fails. clearly, the base station is plugged in, connected to the Ethernet, and the signal's working... so what is going on? can somebody help?

Perhaps you configured your Airport Express into "bridge mode" by disabling its ability to distribute IP addresses. That would explain most of the symptoms you describe.
    I suggest:
    1. do a hard reset of the Airport Express by following the instructions found at:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044
    2. with the Airport Express cabled to the cable modem, pull power to both devices. Wait at least five minutes - longer if you are patient. Then plug power into the modem and wait a minute. Then plug the Airport Express into power and wait for it to restart. Unless your Airport Express gets a solid green status light at this point, you really cannot proceed further - so try this step over again but waiting longer than you did previously before plugging the cable modem back into power.
