Can Solaris Os System use as a server edition

Hai guys i am new to solaris system, and my company selected solaris system as our server edition....
Can any one enplane me the solaris OS system could we use as a server edition ?

You could run a Mac Pro using OS X Server. This would allow you to provided services to your small office network, and still use the Mac Pro as your desktop machine.
However, depending on what you are actually intending to use the server for, you may be better off with an older Mac to use for your server. Simple AFP and Windows file services are easily handled by just about any Mac, with the older Quicksilvers through the G5's being good choices for use as servers.
Having a dedicated server, instead of one sharing use as a desktop, means a more stable server for everyone else to use. It also will allow for a more consistent backup and archiving, then a dual role machine will usually be used for.
However, if you do not have the funds to repurpose an older machine, or buy a new machine for your server, then sharing a desktop with a small office group is indeed doable.
As for running Autocad and the server os at the same time, the answer is probably no. The reason is the bootcamp based Windows XP is a one or the other proposition, you are either running WIndows XP or OS X but not both.
On the other hand, if you use virtualization software, such as Parallel you can run both OS X and XP at the same time, however, current released versions of Parallel have limited graphic acceleration and 3D support. Newer beta versions of Parallel are starting to include better graphics support, including 3D. So the question is if AutoCad will run reasonably well under Parallel or not. I think the answer will depend on how you use AutoCad. If you use it mostly for 2D drawings, then it will probably run fine. If you use 3D rendering, you may need, at least for the time being, need to use Bootcamp to run Windows XP natively and get full graphics support.

No, the 4.1 release is available at no cost to you. The serial # doe snot have to be entered.
in Lr just go >Help > Update this will take you directly to the download page.
Save the download in a location of your choice and then install it. Or, if you wish you can install directly from the webpage.

Can Endpoint 2012 be used on Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have never used this product before. I just need to protect one Microsoft Window Server running 2008 R2 Enterprise. I don't need to install the infrastructure or manager. Is this possible?

JSP creating XML, on Solaris 2.6 using Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0

Hi,
I have a jsp file which generates a dynamic xml document. Data is
obtained from Oracle using jdbc and the OracleXSU utils : xmlparser.jar
and xsu12.jar are used to give an XML string.
This works fine on NT4.0/Java Web Server 2.0, but when I port to
Solaris 2.6,Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0, this gives problems.
I get the following error message which is of no help. Nor there
is an error message on the Solaris log files.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Unspecified error
When you do a View Source, it does show the XML returned from the
server, but it simply doesn't style it on the browser.
Is there any setting anywhere?

oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLServlet servlet ?
I don4t know how to do this with Netscape
Enterprise Server.

Can fiber channel be used for connect server to a storage in two nodes RAC

I decided to have an Oracle RAC cluster with only two nodes.
The storage I have is a sun 3510FC. Also have five fiber chanal ports. But my each server (Sunfire v240) has got one Ultra160SCSI multimode (SE/LVD) not any fiber chanal ports. I found that there is some FC card available to use but none fiber switch available. I want to install this FC cards to the servers and make a straight connection with fibre cable to the storage. Can this be asolution or do i have to have a fibre switch?

Has anybody got 10gR2 RAC working on
a. 2 servers
b. shared storage with HBA and fibre channel cables
c. interconnect on LAN
(yes we know it is not supported by Oracle...but again we are not going production on that....just for demo/training purposes)
No FC switch
No ethernet switch
If anybody has got this working would be great to hear of 'issues to guard against'

How can I setup Open Directory so that name resolution can also be achieved using a LDAPv3 server (Linux host)

I have a Mac OS X Lion machine (macbook) which is used in a network where most machines are running Linux. Hostname resolution for local machines is achieved on the Linux boxes using a LDAP host. How can a similar behavior can be obtained on Lion (I found no /etc/nsswitch.conf).
I started the Directory Utility, chose the LDAPv3 line, add a line with the IP address of the LDAP server and a "base" but this does not seem to work.
The opendirectory log file is not very informative. It just says (XX.XX.XX.XX is the LDAP server IP address):

My advice is to advise everyone of a scheduled down time when it's convinient for you and implement plan B.
Plan A will simply cause you more grief in the long run.

Can Java only system use CTS+?

We have 3 Java only (EP7.0) systems.
We also have a SM7.0(A+J).
Can we configure CTS+ for the EP7.0 using SM7.0 as the domain controller?

I have been having the same problem. I have a dot mac account wich I use as my primary e-mail account. I receive just fine, I just cannot send using mail. If I loggon to the dot mac website, I can send mail that way. But I cannot send using mail. The strange part is, I can use mail on my iBook (G3), and my daughters eMac (G4). I have checked, they all hace the same options checked in the account settings. But, my pride and joy (iMac G4) refuses to send mail. It gets frustrating having to logon to the website just to send mail. HELP.

Can't open document using Word or Text Edit

I couldn't find a specific topic so I'm posting this here. I just got a new white macbook and transferred some word documents to it. I was out of town and realized I'd forgotten to load the Word program, so I opened a couple of documents using Text Edit and saved them as new documents. One document opened without issue, but the other document won't open with either Text Edit or MS Word 2004. When I try to open it in Word the message states it cannot be opened and may or may not be a valid word document. When I try to open in TextEdit the message states that the document is not in the right format. Please help -- I really don't want to have to re-create the document as it is about 12 pages!

There are 2 unusual options in File, Open in the Windows version of Word (sorry, I'm on a Mac without Word). One is something like Recover Text From Any Format, and the other is Open and Repair. One I think is on a drop down menu in the Open screen. I'm not sure if these are available on the Mac version, but it's worth a try! Also: do you have all the proper converters set up? I have Word 2004 for Mac running on one machine, a legal copy, and I was able to do updates and even get a free conversion program that actually backward converts Word 2007 for Windows and Word 2008 for Mac files down to Word for Mac 2004. It's worked quite will. I support Word on Macs and Windows at work and have used that conversion utility to great advantage when we had users call with Word docs that wouldn't open. Good luck!

I want to create a system(Solman 4.0) in Portal.I have created a SAP system using dedicated application server and then I filled all necessary fields.I tested with using system connection test.There are two test nameS(SAP Web AS Connection and Connection test for Connectors)Firstly, I checked WAS Connection and everything was ok but when I tested "Connection Test for Connectors" it didn't work.When I clicked test button, it said "Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct" but I didn't use UIDPW.I used the Logon Ticket method and system_type is SAP_CRM but when I checked log file, it said this message "(R3/BW) Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin".I didin't understand because I have already used SAP_CRM syte sytem type.Why do I get this message. In addition, The ume.usermapping.unsecure is already on TRUE.In short, I can't connect with using connector.What's the problem?

Using the SQL Server Agent for the first time

I have set up several jobs to run automatically throughout the day. Each job just does one thing: executes an SSIS package.
The packages themselves run perfect when I test them in Visual Studio 2005, but when the SQL Server Agent tries to run the job I am getting failed jobs.
Is there any tutorials or walkthroughs that can teach my about using the SQL Server Agent? If I wanted extensive help troubleshooting my SQL Server Agent problems which part of the message boards would I post that too?

Patch Solaris 8 systems

Is there anyone that has successfully been able to patch Solaris 8 systems using this tool? If you have a guide I would be happy. I have tried a couple of times but failed even though I have installed required patches.

Does anything show up in the agent logs directory? You may have missing packages, such as SUNWbash, SUNWswmt, and SUNWgzip which are often missing on Solaris 8 systems.
If you are unable to find anything in the logs then I would advise opening a support case. Note that it is likely that we will ask you to collect information from the system using the [GDD script|http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/scripts/sunScripts/SUN-GDD_sun-connection-collect_noarch.tar.gz] . It would be worthwhile if you could collect the information whilst attempting to run a job against the system.
Run the script on the agent:
# ./SUN-GDD_SunConnection.sh -debugAgent -auto 1800 -o /var/tmpThis will enable debug-level logging on the agent and automatically collect the logs after 30 minutes - you may wish to adjust the time to suit.

the discovery system use Microsoft SQL Server which comes with a 180 day evaluation license.
We've an existing licence for IBM-DB2, is it possible to migrate the system to DB2 or use DB2 instead MS-SQL-server?
