Can somebody please fix the mess that is iBooks?

can somebody please fix the mess that is iBooks? lousy metadata, lousy usability, and now fails to read my library until I delete it from the filesystem then rebuild it. reboot, and it's screwed again. do you need someone to run the iBooks development program? please let me know.

    You are not communicating with Apple by posting here. Everyone here is just a fellow user and cannot fix anything.
    The Find My iPad service may have indeed been accurate to the limits of the technology. Unless the iPad was a 3G unit, location is determined based on the nearest WiFi router which in your case could just happened to have been yours. The police may be the ones who need to "fix" their understanding of how the technology works and its limitations.

    Hi,
    There was another forum thread about iOS 4.3 dropping calls, and it must have been taken down because the user mentioned downgrading. 
    In any case, I need a solution for my dropped calls. 
    I had no problems with hours of calls on IOS 4.1 on an iPhone 4, and then decided to "upgrade" because I would rather not have my location monitored all the time.  I used to make long conference calls too.
    Now, I can't make those conference calls without it dropping every few minutes, and sometimes I have problems connecting with people.  Today, my call to my father dropped after 2 minutes, and then it dropped every time I called him back (4 times).  The other day, I tried to get a conference call going, and it dropped more than 10 times.  I NEVER had that problem with 4.1.
    Yes, I rebootted it.  Yes, I even REFRESHED and gave my iPhone a completely new start (accidentally erasing some pictures I meant to keep along the way).  It DIDN'T WORK. 
    Now, I'm frustrated.  Can anyone help me with a legal idea that I haven't tried yet?  Or can you developers fix this situation - QUICKLY?

    No further details needed. 140 people saw an archived report of this a year ago.
    Fix the problem already.

    A year ago Firefox had a different user interface, so a comparison isn't accurate.
    Usually caused by an extension or two - not directly by Firefox itself. Try moving the add-on buttons into a different order or disable them one at a time to find the culprit.

    First, I have called Telstra to ask what is the upload speed of the link in our atm link. They said it is 910Kbps.
    Then I checked also our router and I have executed a show command à sh controller atm0/1/0
    Output:
              Interface: ATM0/1/0, Hardware: MPC ATMSAR, State: up
            IDB: 0x30AB0424  Instance: 0x30AC1288  PHY Inst: 0x00000000  us_bwidth: 910  -->  I am assuming that this is Upload Speed = 910Kbps  and this is automatically detected by the router interface.
    Second, I have checked the EF priority value. For my 5 ip phones in this site.
    Class-map: cm-voice-out (match-all)
      653566 packets, 134229712 bytes
      1 minute offered rate 0000 bps, drop rate 0000 bps
      Match: ip dscp ef (46)
      Priority: 26% (133 kbps), burst bytes 3300, b/w exceed drops: 1359 -->  The QoS only take effect  itself if there is a congestion. If the voice packets exceeded above 133Kbps , packets will drop.
    Third, My question to myself:  Why Priority 26% got the corresponding bandwidth of 133 Kbps???
                 My assessment: I’m  assuming that it depends on what was configured on this command line --> vbr-nrt <SCR> <PCR>  = vbr-nrt 512 512   (In my understanding, This is ATM shaping).
              512Kbps X .26  = 133.12  approx. 133Kbps
    My Conclusion:
          From current configuration vbr-nrt 512 512  .... I’m thinking if we can change it to this new configuration --> vbr-nrt  910 910 , Does it affect the call delay?
        So that there will be a higher bandwidth for EF packets.
             910Kbps X .26 = 236.6   approx. 237Kbps

    We are still stuck at build number 9841.

    I have downloaded the latest build 9879, I format my hard disk and reinstall the OS with the latest build.
    Right after installation, I did a check via the preview build just to make sure I did not get the same error again.
    And guess what, I still get the same error again.This is impossible. It should not have that same error again while checking for a new preview build updates!
    See the screen shot, see at the watermark build number at the right hand bottom corner.
    So what could be the problem then?
    Your screen shot shows you are running the latest build, 9879, therefore you will not see a new preview build when checking. I agree that the wording in the message could be better however.

    Have you upgraded to iPhoto 9.6 for compatibility with Yosemite? If not, try that first.
    It looks like iPhoto has lost the connection between the thumbnails and the original image files.
    This can be caused by a corrupted iPhoto library, or the originals have been deleted or moved.
    Try first to rebuild your iPhoto Library:
    If you do not have a current backup of the iPhoto library, make a copy of the library, but do not overwrite any previous backup.
    Launch iPhoto with the ⌥⌘-key combination (option-command) held down.
    Select "rebuild" from the first aid panel.  This may take a while for a large library.
    Can you now see your photos again?
    If not, rebuild the library with iPhoto Library manager as described by Old Toad:            Re: iphoto crashed

    When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer?  Your iTunes library does not have an email address.  An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases.  Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
    If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID.  In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password).  That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
    On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS.  This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost. 
    NOTE:  If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID. 
    For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
    If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

    P.S: For the iphone 4S. is there any difference for the one from online shop or the actual store?

    iPhones purchased from the online Apple Store in Australia will be unlocked. To the best of my knowledge, unlocked iPhone are not available from the physical Apple Stores at this time, though you can call the Apple Store in Melbourne and inquire.
    Note that the warranty on iPhones is not international, so if you purchase an iPhone in Australia and it needs service, you would have to ship the iPhone to someone in Australia to take or send to Apple for service and then ship it back to you.
