Can someone help me fix my MacBook?

Hi. I have a MacBook which is used and had a new hard drive installed a year ago. I inherited it from a friend's daughter and I have no hard disks with the machine. It has worked beautifully, up until a few days ago. I received a message which said I needed to restart my computer. I did so and ever since then, when I try to start Safari, I get the whirling ball and it sometimes refuses to open. If it does, after a very long time, I still get the whirling ball and then Safari closes. Also, Firefox seems to have disappeared. I can't get it back.
I'm unable to get onto the net, in order to download any clean-up software or ask any support questions. At this point, my poor mac is useless and so am I.

Withour knowing whar happens when you try to restore the iPod all I can suggest is:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Mac mini and LG monitor: screen is stretched and resolution is awful. Can someone help me fix this please?

I have a Mac mini (bought in 2013) and the LG 20EN33 screen. I tried filing with the monitor's settings as well as the ones in display but the screen is stretched and the font is quite big. I saw a thread about Switch Res X so downloaded the app, but have no idea where to start to use it to correct issue. can someone help me please?

With Switch-X you want to change the resolution to match your monitor's resolution.
You have an old monitor and it may be best to get a new one that support the the now standard 1080p (1920X1080) resolution.
I have not ideal how Switch-X works since I use the free version of Display Menu fro the Mac App Store

I used Virus Barrier Express that I downloaded from the App Store and it found a virus named Java/CVE-2010-94. I ran Virus Barrier Express again after I prssed the "fixed it" button; however, i'm not sure if this virus or any other virus is still on my MacBook Pro. *The first sign of any type of virus was when I was on a website and my screen froze. I couldn't move anything or press anything. Something popped up and told me to turn off the Mac. I had no choice and I did turn it off. I used my Virus Barrier Express to scan any viruses, but nothing appeared. It only appeared after I downloaded new updates yesterday.
*I just did some research and it turned out to be a "kernel Panic". http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3742 I haven't encountered another one ever since so does that mean my Mac is safe now?

Get rid of the VirusBarrier Express. At this time, there are no Mac viruses. All you're doing with that thing is slowing down your Mac. Look in your VBE folder, to see if there's an UNinstaller. I don't know why Apple is making these things available. They're garbage, 98% of them. Two good ones are ClamXav and Sophos. But still, IMHO, they are unnecessary.
Kernel Panics, on the other hand, are serious. If you don't have any more of them, that's good. If you have any more of them, come back and post your Panic report here.

Six months ago i bought a Factory unlock Iphone 4, and i have been using it and always update it with the latest firmware although i live in Ghana and i use MTN network, until one week ago i have bought a new one and give the old one as gift to my friend... I got it back, put my SIM card the one it was used on the same phone for 6 months, and i get always that invalid sim card with no access to the iphone; only emergency calls... connect it back to the iTune and i can only restore it and get the same message: The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported... it is weird because the same SIM was working in this phone, also that i put it in the new phone and it works fine.... Can someone suggest how can i fix back my iPhone?! PLease....

It sounds to me like this iPhone was jailbroken, not factory unlocked, and your friend either restored or upgraded the operating system which locked the iPhone back to its original carrier. You probably will need to take this up with whoever you purchased the iPhone from originally, as they may have either lied to you about it being truly unlocked or were themselves mistaken.

This is an error reported by the optical drive's firmware. The tracking servo is the servomechanism which guides the laser pickup along the track on the optical disc. The error means that the servo couldn't do its job within the programmed parameters. What it doesn't say is why.
You have to be very precise as to when this error occurs. If it occurs as you wrote, while it "starts preparing to write the disc", and not when it has actually began to burn, then it's likely that the drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
There are other possibilities, so you should check them, but they would be more likely if the error occurred after the drive began to write. OrangeMarlin has suggested two options -- try a different brand of CD or DVD, and try cleaning the lens.

I have league of legends music running in the background when 1. did not even open the application, and 2. i deleted the application long ago. Can someone help me fix this so it doesn't bug me!!

ok so i wiped my Drive clean because it had some nasty malware on it. i had some stuff backed up on a different drive which i installed an operating system on. after i wiped the first drive clean and tried to boot up the system it wouldnt boot anymore. after installing a portable OS on a flash drive i was able to get the computer to load up and i checked and reallocated the drive that was wiped so it could be used again. then i put in my system recovery disks in to install vista back on to the drive but during the recovery my computer got the blue screen. since then i cant do anything with my computer i have tried changing drives and using the USB to run an OS but it wont work it always gets stuck at the HP logo screen. is there any way to fix this?

First try to boot up without connecting the USB device. Remove any type of external storage devices if connected and check..

My white ...shows up as green ... on everything...
It says it has the right amount of red and green, etc however it shows up as green on the picture and other places.
When I print it it comes out as white as it says.

My fonts that are installed in Font Book are not showing up in Microsoft Word. Can someone help me fix this problem?

I am needing some help. I own a Mac Book Air with OS X 10.7.5. This computer belongs to the school district I teach for, so I do not have permission to do a huge wipe that would uninstall programs such as Word. When I first got my computer, I added all my fonts. I did this by putting them into a fonts folder. The fonts were not all showing up in Microsoft Word, so I was told to use Font Book. All of my fonts show up and are installed in Font Book; however, they do not show up in Word. I have restarted my computer. All the fonts are validated. I have tried almost everything I could think of after researching answers online. Another problem--my bullet points are messed up. When I click the bullet button, instead of an open circle it's an open rectangle. This doesn't concern me as much, but I thought it might help as a clue as to what is wrong. The fonts also do not show up in the Format > Font box.
Also, I want to point out that my colleagues, using the exact same computer, network, etc, are able to download and use all the fonts. They have tried to fix mine, also.
Any help is much appreciated! Maybe there is some way to wipe out my fonts and start clean?
