Can someone help me to open this tiff.file with PS CS5

I accidently restarted my computer and then I can not open this tiff by photoshop cs5. Can someone help me to recover this file!!! I really dont want to redraw this illustration ... it really paintful ... !!!

Other applications can open the flattened version of the image (like Apple's Preview).
But something has messed up the Photoshop layer data in the file.
I wasn't able to recover it in the debugger, either -- too much of the layer data is corrupt, and the last part of the file is mighty suspect (too many blocks of zeros).
Something like PSDRecover might be able to recover some of the layer data.
You need to check whatever disk or fileserver this was stored on for any additional problems - you may have a disk going bad, or some utility corrupting files.
And, of course, see if you have a backup version of this file.

Something must have corrupted someting in the file so newer versions of photoshop won't open it.
I was able to open it in photoshop 3, ImageReady and also paint and a couple of other non adobe image editors/viewers.
Though the transparency didn't seem to survive.
If have you some other image editors or viewers you might try those.

I think this link is the answer to my question, but I don't understand it! Does someone know what he is talking about and what would I need to do to have TM back up my True Crypted data once modified. Meaning: back up the true crypted files which are inside a partition in my Macbook (partition True Crypted.)

UPDATE: I restarted my computer and went through the exact same process outlined above and now it looks like it resolved itself; the error message no longer appears after I turn sync back on. I believe everything is working correctly now. Basically, it looks like the solution is to completely reboot your computer.

Can anybody help me to open a .dmg file on my MAC OS 9.2.2. the file is a Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger Boot Disk which i would like to run along side OS 9.2.2

Rincewind is correct is saying that DiskCopy 6.3.3 can mount many .dmg images on the desktop (thanks for the correction, R.). He is also correct in saying their contents will generally run only in OS X.
Interestingly, I find by testing that Disk Copy 6.4 and 6.5b11 are unable to mount several .dmgs that 6.3.3 mounts OK.
Trying to install OS X from a disk image that has been burned to disk in OS 9 is going to be a fool's errand, I'm afraid. Buy the correct installer disc set.

How do I open old tiff files in PS CS5?

Opening old files in new versions should never be a problem - unless they have originally been saved in other applications that don't follow the file format specifications. Or the files are corrupted.
The other way around can sometimes be tricky because of new features not present in the old version.

You never even do anything that tries to set "win" to true. So you haven't even tried determining a winner. We aren't here to do your work for you.

Format your stick with MS-DOS (FAT32) format. I use camera CF cards as memory stick and a good practice is to regularly format them: it deals with defragmentation effectively.
JPG is a standard, regardless of which application writes it and is readable by all applications supporting JPG.
Make sure you properly eject your usb stick when you take the it out of the usb port: it makes sure the OS closes all open files.

Hi everyone! I have downloaded the Desktop Manager Software on to my desktop. I've clicked on the "media" option in the main menu.
I am brought to a screen that has 2 options. "Media Manager" and " Blackberry Media Sync".
Now, I want to download themes and wallpaper, but in order to do that, I need to select "Media Manager" correct? ... Unfortunately this option is not available. I have my blackberry on, and is connected to the USB port. I am able to click "start" on the "Blackberry Media Sync" option, but not on Media Manager. If anyone could help me out, this would be greatly appreciated. I am going absolutely insane trying to figure this out! Thx for your help!!!!

It seems clear to me that if you unplug your AirPort Extreme and those Wi-Fi networks still appear, they are not being created by your Extreme but by someone else's router. They won't be useful to you.
To eliminate confusion, open System Preferences > Network, and select Wi-Fi from the left column. Click the Advanced... button. In the "Preferred Networks" list, select each Network Name and click the "–" (minus) button. Check the box "Remember networks this computer has joined". Click OK, then Apply.
Then select your PalmSprings network in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu. Ignore any others that may appear there.
If you still have funky problems, try renaming your AirPort Extreme's network to something other than PalmSprings. Use "Palm Springs" (including the space character - spaces are OK) or something else. Other networks with similar or identical names will just confuse things.
Use a non-trivial WPA/WPA2 password for your Wi-Fi network. Give your Extreme base station a non-trivial password as well. These ought to be different from one another, but are not required to be. Doing so will preclude any concern about your network being "hacked".

Why has nobody suggested the "Blend If" solution yet?
- double-click on the layer thumbnail of the dragon line art
- Hold down <Alt> and drag the left half of the "This Layer" slider to the left, and the right slider as well, but not as much for a nicer blending.
Done. The only trouble is that you cannot add (for example) a color overlay effect to recolour the lines directly because this layer is not considered truly transparent by Photoshop (in Photoline this is not an issue luckily). In Photoshop's case you will have to merge it to a new layer, and only then does Photoshop treat the transparent pixels as "real" transparent ones. Alternatively, convert the layer to a smart object, and you can apply layer effects and the like without issues. I would choose the latter option, since it is non-destructive.
This method, however, does not take the pre-multiplied edge pixels into account (which are multiplied with white), and thus you lose those pixels. This may be an undesired side effect, especially for more delicate art work. A better approach is to use an "unmultiply" effect.
In Photoline a non-destructive adjustment layer will allow us to do exactly this with any background colour, and with additional controls as well. Unfortunately, such a filter is unavailable in Photoshop. Luckily enough an action for Photoshop is available: http://www.ayatoweb.com/download/down04.html
- download the action (zip file) and load up the actions in Photoshop (I have no idea if this action still works in CC and above - I own a license of CS6 only).
- since this will unmultiply BLACK, you must first invert the artwork with <CTRL> <i>.
- run the action "unmultiply English".
- The black background is removed, and you now invert the artwork back to its original black.
Done! Notice how all of the original edge pixels remained unaffected. Those are now truly semi-transparent, and blend nicely with the background layer(s). A bit of a shame this is a destructive workflow, but the result is great.

Can someone help me, I am having issue printing with my HP PSC 1410?

I am running Windows XP Professional w/ service pack 3. I run into difficulty when printing jpegs that are created on my computer and also things from the web, like google maps or yahoo maps, as well as other web pages. I am using IE 8 and my drivers are all up to date.
The problem has existed for awhile and I've run the diagnostics tool that is available for download and it is showing everything is working just fine. I've gone as far as doing an entire OS reinstallation, which then reinstalled all the software and drivers (and doing all necessary updates), yet still the problem remains. If it's a text file, no problem, if it's a web page (even printer friendly), or jpeg or bitmap (even created on my own), there is trouble.
This is what's happening:
It will start printing, sometimes getting 1/4-3/4 of the way through the printing process and an error message will pop up in the HP Digital Imaging Monitor in my toolbar on the right side of the taskbar stating that the print has failed. Then it just spits out the rest of the page blank with only a portion of what was intended.
Now, often times, what I do is get into the printer settings telling the printer to only print in greyscale with the black cartridge only, and retry printing and it will without a hitch. So, It only seems to be a problem if I'm trying to print something in color. Hopefully this is enough info. Is the printer just dead/dying?

I was trying to update but it didn't let me (Error at 50%, 70%, etc.). I have tried many times to uninstall and install again, it doesn't work. II've tried the link you provided but the solution didn't work for me (Error at 39% when downloading this time).
