Can someone help with my slow airport?

I have tried everything, but when i connect to the net via my airport, i might as well write a letter and request the info be sent that way. I have reinstalled leapard, made sure i have all the current updates, checked and changed every setting on the airport and nothing works. As soon as i plug the ethernet from my router, BANG!, i'm back in reality and using the net realtime. I get timeouts when i try to connect from time to time and sometimes it just flatout refuses to connect. Bare in mind that i have only had this gear since Monday, so i haven't had the chance to destroy anything myself...yet!
I have two new iMac alu with 2 gig in each and two new 13" macbooks with 2 gig in each and a new airport extreme.
I would really appreciate someones expertise in this area as i'm a newby...

You must put in the required information. If you do not have it, you must get it from the original owner of the phone. If you have forgotten your iCloud password, you can reset it at:

There is no such thing as an activation "bypass". Activation Lock is a security feature. It wouldn't be that secure is you could bypass it, wouldn't it?

Can someone help with transfer to iPod

I have several home movies that I converted to mpeg4 with Handbrake but only
one of them will transfer to my iPod. I keep getting a prompt that says it won't play on the iPod. It plays beautifully in iTunes. Can someone help?

They are QT mpeg 4. I can play them fine as a Quick Time movie or in iTunes - I just can't get them into my iPod.

This error is usually a "Optical Power Calibration error" and can be caused by software conflicts, a firmware that needs to be updated, or a blank CD that the drive cannot read/write too (Not all drives are compatible with all brands of blank CDs sad to say)
I tried to look for your exact CD burning model on the dell site for a "Dimension 2400" but didn't see an exact model matching "NEC CD-RW NR-9300A" so if it is a burner that came with the PC when you bought it, you will have to goto the dell site www.dell.com to download the correct firmware update. If its one you had installed after you bought the PC, then goto the NEC site for the update www.NEC.com

problem is I have to over 10k user_id to update.
So created new table called update_users and imported all user_id's into that table.
How can I read all user_id's from that table, then update user_master status column for all
users id's found in update_users ?
I already tried this...

There are no duplicates. Each user_id is unique.Are you sure? the error message indicates otherwise. You might see if the following query returns any rows;
select user_id, count(*)
from update_users
group by user_id
having count(*) > 1;Also, you might want to post the exact statement that you used to generate the error. The statement that you posted raises an error de to the syntax;

Can someone help with auto-size fields in forms?

I created a form in Acrobat for my team members with auto-size text fields that allow to shrink the text when the field size is not large enough to show the entire text. When I then open the same form file with Adobe Reader on my machine with text that has shrunk in some field, I can see all the text and have also a scroll function when the text size has reached its lower limits and there is still more text to show.
However, when I receive the filled out forms back from other team members' iPads (they use my template created with Acrobat), the text didn't shrink as on a PC version and the scroll function is disabled. I checked the template and the fields are correctly set to auto-size left and they do work on my PC's and laptop's Adobe Reader. But the iPad version of Adobe Reader may cause some issues.
Can anybody help with solutions?

The filled version of your PDF document (20140722 Daily Meeting Report...pdf) is no longer a PDF form because it has been flattened.
Once an interactive PDF form (such as your template version) is flattened, all form fields are replaced with images of filled data. You can no longer interact with form fields, edit form data, or tap/click any buttons in the flattened PDF document. That is the reason why the text in auto-size text fields did not shrink.
When you email a PDF document (including a PDF form) in Adobe Reader for iOS, the E-mail Document dialog is displayed.
In this particular case, your team member must have selected "Share Flattened Copy".
If you would like to keep the interactivity of a PDF form, you can select "Share Original Document". Please advise your team members to select the "Share Original Document" option when emailing filled forms.
Unfortunately, once flattened, a PDF document cannot be reverted back to the original "unflattened" state. However, if your team members still have the original filled forms, they can resend the forms with the "Share Original Document" option.

I get this every 30 minutes. After about 8+ hours the server becomes un-responsive.I am not sure if this is realated to the error above or not.

Check your DNS settings as it looks like a DNS problem.
You can use the host or the dig commands for troubleshooting.
Something like host static-host is a good starting point.

(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Can someone help with a networking problem?

Here's a situation I need some help with:
I live in a semi-detached house. My neighbour has broadband, I don't. The phone company (BT) has said it would cost too much to install another line to enable me to have broadband, and would involve digging up the road and the garden, which they're not prepared to do.
However, someone at work has suggested that I approach my neighbour and ask if I could 'share' their broadband connection and in return pay a contribution to their monthly costs.
For this, I believe, I would need to buy a router, plus something to make my Mac 'wireless'.
Now, I consider myself Mac-savvy, but when it coms to wireless stuff I confess I know very little! So if someone could explain in simple terms what I would need to buy and approx costs I be very grateful!
I have a G5, and I believe my neighbour is a PC user.
Also, can someone explain how the whole 'share' thing works? Does my neighbour have to have their computer on all the time? Do I need to sign up with an ISP? Will having two computers accessing one line slow it down significantly?

Hi Andy, before going too far down the 'sharing' route I would rattle some cages chez BT. If your neighbour has broadband then you and they are within a hair's breadth (line length speaking) of the same distance to the exchange. If they have enabled BB next door, why can't they enable BB for you without the hassle? I live on a mobile home site in the back of beyond in Devon and when I upgraded from dial-up to BB, and then to 1 meg there was no problem. There was a two week hiatus while BT did their stuff 'on the line' but it all went without a hitch. Er...I take it you do have an exclusive landline?
However, if the situation re the line is as per, then the simplest way (to obviate any wifi interference issues) would be for you or neighbour to route an ethernet cable through walls/window frames from your Mac to a router on their side of the wall. (Approx £30?) This would be connected to their phone line. Their PC would also plug into the router. (Which they may already have if they're on BB, though they may have a nasty USB BB modem &nbsp:&nbsp: No good for what you want.
If you/they don't want the 'hardwire' option then first you have to wifi enable your Mac if it is not already. Not sure of the costs but check on the Apple website for 'Airport Extreme Card'. Don't go the wifi USB dongle route, apparently they are not VG, though I've no personal experience. You would then have to get a wifi router modem (from £40 I think, it's a long time since I've looked, my Belkin has been virtually faultless) which would sit on their side of the wall plugged into the BT socket. Their PC would either plug into that or connect wirelessly with it, as is their wont. That's basically it, but there could still be interference issues, eg, two households with microwaves, cordless phones; intervening walls, bookcases, filing cabinets etc., etc.,
If done via either of the above, then no, your neighbour doesn't have to have their PC on all the time, if ever.
You don't have to sign up with an ISP, it would have to be a 'gentleman's agreement' that you bung him £x pm for your share. He is already paying his ISP.
In practice, sharing would only slow down large downloads.If you were each downloading a large file at the same time then you would be sharing the bandwidth, so your respective files would download at half the speed than they would otherwise. If you are each surfing and if you both 'clicked' at the same time then, yes, he might think, "Wish I hadn't said yes to Andy, this page is taking ages". I don't really think anyone would notice though unless he was surfing at the same time as you were downloading something big, or vice versa.
I hope the above is some help but I would have a word with the neighbour first and sound them out, after rattling BT that is...

Can someone help with this stuppid Media Encoder?!

I'm tired of reading hunderts of topics. Can someone please tell me why the Media Encoder is not encoding at all. I've tried everything, but my progressbar always shows loading 00:00:00.
That is not normal. I'm sick of using expensive software, full of bugs. Would someone from the support explain why is this happening and what should be done.
I read a lot about this topic and there are no good replies on it.
The system i'm using is:
Intel Quad Q9550 2.88Ghz
8Gbs of Ram
GeForce 9600 GT
The encoder is a stuppid program with one single stuppid purpose - encoding. When the encoding is not working, the whole CS 4 Studio is useless!
I, like many others, i'm having serious problems while working on big projects and now of course i should see why the software becomes so buggy instead of doing my job.
PLEASE HELP AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!!!

If people have these problems, usually it is caused by:
1. Incorrect system or lacking setup
2. Heavy pollution and / or corruption
3. Operator error
1 is solved easily, 2 requires a reformat/reinstallation and 3 is very difficult to correct.
To which category do you belong? 2 or 3?

Can someone help with how to get image

from a database into a display page using Dreamweaver?
I have a page with a recordset and a database with text and images. The image field only has a link to the folder and image as in images/image1.jpg including size.
The thumbnail I want to display on a master display page is in the database using varchar and with a link as images/image1.jpg
When someone wants to view the master page they click on a link and everything that has been input shows from the database. At least everything but the image. Right now it just shows images/image1.jpg
I don't know how to call the images from the database.

Although it's not 'illegal' to put images or image thumbs in a database, it is strongly recommended NOT to store images/thumbs in a DB because it can seriously drag down the performance of the DB.
If you know how to call an image with information from your DB, you can do it with the thumbnaail image as well. The process is identical.
If you don't already have it, buy David Powers' book, 'PHP Solutions' as soon as you can. David's book walks you through basics of php and MySQL, the end result being a dynamic photo gallery. He cautions against storing anything in a DB that is not text or numbers, and it makes sense. VARCHAR isn't the correct column type, you would actually want one of the BLOB types. However, as David says in his book:
"Storing binary data, such as images, isn't a good idea. It bloats your database, and you can't display images directly from a database. However, the following column types are designed for binary data:
TINYBLOB:up to 255 bytes
BLOB: up to 64KB
MEDIUMBLOB: Up to 16MB
LONGBLOB: Up to 4GB"
I know what you are wantimg to do, because I am also developing an online gallery, so I feel your pain with a hitch such as this. The difference is, although I use Dreamweaver, I hand code everything. I use DW for more basic functions such as previewing and whatnot. With a little more info from you, I might be able to help, specifically some code, or a link to the gallery if it is on a remote server.
