Can someone recommend some good Impulse Responses!

Hi,
i need some really good impulse libraries. i am not really happy with the default pack from space designer. i have just acquired a license of waves ir-1 but i use space designer the most. at least till now.
any thoughts ?
thanks -
curtis

I have just bought an amazing IR set. It is an emulation of the famous EMT 245 Reverb. The library is huge and offers the best impulse responses that I have ever heard. The lib is compatible with space designer and all other ir plugs.
Here's a link where you can also listen to demos.

  • I want to I create PDFs on my new Macbook Pro, can someone recommend a good software program via apple store?

I want to create PDFs on my new Mac Pro, can someone recommed a download from Apple IStore?

The Mac OS has built-in PDF generation. Anthing you can print, you can create a PDF.
In some apps like Preview, you can do "Save as..." to create the PDF:
In other apps you have PDF options at the bottom left of the "Print..." dialog box:
Basically you have no need to spend money to create simple PDFs.

  • Can anyone recommend some good handlebar or bike mounts for the iphone 6?

I'm looking for an iPhone 6 mount that does not cover my screen and will be stable for long rides. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I would have to recommend the Tackform Freedom Bike Mount. It has an adjustable grip so you can customize the tension on your phone. It also gives you full access to your speakers and ports, etc. Works with any handlebar. ( It comes with a few rubber strips to custom fit to the bar size. Ultra Light design. It also comes with this rubber safety sling that grips the corners of the phone to provide additional stability. I originally got it to us the MapMyRide app and I've put about 2,000 miles on my bike so far and haven't found any issues.

you must be kidding... you have to PAY extra to get phone
    support with
them and THEN they call you back within (supposedly) 24hrs...
    they -
    pardon the french - suck.
Speaking from many years of experience with them.
MidPhase.com is better than DH. They DO have 24/7/365 phone
    and email
support but as is true with most companies, that is level one
    tech
support.... they'll kick your issue up to level 2, if needed,
    but that
    becomes email support.
But if you send a lot of clients their way, you can get in
    with a
manager type and get direct support. That's what I do.
Call up and ask for Jude (Matt Berry) ....
They have several hosting companies under one umbrella. I

  • Can someone recommend a good mail program?

I understand this might not be the best place to post this but I wasn't sure where else to post it.
Basically, I run a business. I currently use Outlook 2007 through Parallels to organise my mail, create follow-up reminders on mail that comes in, send out template based emails and so on. I have Office 2004 for my Mac and Entourage is nowhere near as good as Outlook for this kind of thing. Also it makes my templates look rather odd when I send them out. Same problem with Mail.
Some people may ask why I am looking for something else if I am happy with what I have. The reason being is it just seems stupid to run Parallels and Windows XP for the sake of using Outlook 2007. I am happy with Excel and Word 2004 on my Mac and would rather run my mail through OS X as well.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to hear them.
    Many thanks.

BTW, it installs lots of files in several Unix directories. If you decide to get rid of it be sure to do a thorough search for all that it installs besides the application in the Applications folder. Spotlight has to be specifically configured to search in those directories or use Easy Find - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Can someone recommend a good multi-function scanner/printer/copier that works with Mac OS 10.6.8?

I've just purchased a Canon Image Class MF4570dn. Very disappointed to find that whatever I do I cannot get the scanner to work & the Apple support board is of no help.
It seems like there is a conflict with OS 10.6.8 that does not let the scanner get recognized by any scanning software -- either the Mac native software in Preview or the Canon software included on CD with the box & via download from Canon's site. The Canon software is called "MF Toolbox" but for the life of me I can't get it to start without instantly crashing!
Any suggestions of set-ups that are working with you on a similar system set-up would be much appreciated!

This is  discouraging! I ended up trying Canon because my Macbook Pro suddenly stopped recognizing my previous HP scanner -- a MF inkjet printer.
I have been looking at HP multi-function lasers in lieu of this faulty Canon I just returned.
I intend to be doing very simple things with whatever MF unti I end upw ith -- no printing or scanning over the network. I'm happy to connect it directly to my computer via USB. So I'm not sure I'd experience the problems you are having.
Maybe I should go w/ one of these Brother units? Is there anyone on this board that can attest to these machines working with MacBook Pros?

  • Can someone recommend a good soundcard

I recently upgraded from a G4 Tower to G5 Tower. My old soundcard is PCI, my new computer's sys board is PCI Express. I've been looking for a decent PCI Express soundcard, but am having no luck. I'll be running Logic through it, and would like it to have 4 analog in/outs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Aron, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I've never seen anything like that for G5/PCIe Macs, the closest I can think of would be to maybe find one of these used on eBay, and it may only have output...

  • Can someone recommend a good SQL book

I'm looking for a book that starts at the beginner/intermediate level and goes all the way to very advanced stuff, the whole nine yards. Anyone?

Oracle 8i (9i) Complete Reference. It's pretty simple, easy to read, and provides simple example to get you to understand the syntax....some SQL are Oracle specific..but I don't think there is a generic SQL tutorial book (it will use some vendor SQl language)..however, afeter learing ONE SQL..it's simple to learn another (they're actually almost the same..if they complied to the Ansi SQl standard????).

  • Can anyone recommend some good headphones for iPhone?

I know because of the recessed headphone jack not all headphones will work. Just for music playing, what's a good pair for around $100-$150? Thanks for any help!

I recently bought a pair of Sleek Audio SA1 headphones for $80 and like them extremely well. They sound far better (to me anyway) than my much more expensive Shure buds. Sleek has other models and they also have a wireless option that I haven't gotten yet, but intend to.

  • Can someone recommend a good app for learning to type on a MBP?

I have used Mavis Beacon previously on a PC and found it to be OK. Searching the web I haven't come across any conclusive reviews. Does anyone have hands on experience? I need to increase my typing speed and accuracy and spending so much time on a computer you realise how inefficent two+ finger typing is.

When you need software there are two places to go:
The Mac App Store which provides some user feedback, and
Macupdate which provides lots of feedback and also links to alternate similar software with ratings.
    Peter
btw Mavis Beacon was originally a Mac application and is still for the Mac.

  • Can someone recommend a good wireless usb adapter for an iMac?

I would rather use a wireless usb adapter instead of having to purchase an airport card. Thanks a lot in advance for your assistance,

This is the discussion area for Intel-based iMacs. Since you have an iMac G5 you probably want to make any future posts in the iMac G5 discussion area.
Its probably cheaper to get an AirPort Extreme card but you might want to take a look at www.macwireless.com

I have a PB AL 1.67ghz. I want to get an inexpensive 17-19 inch monitor to use at the desk with it.

    Hi musicmaker --
You know the drill, the whole cost versus features versus what you need it for calculus, etc., but I have a friend who just picked up a Dell 17" for $279, and she likes it very much as sort of an all around utility monitor. Macworld gave a pretty good review too: http://www.macworld.com/2006/04/reviews/dell1707fp/index.php
    Something to consider.
