Can someone tell me if there is a way to sync address book, calendar and mail ONLY, no music from Itunes to Iphone 4s from my Imac G5, OS 10.5.8? I bought a 16 GB and have too much music and no icloud on my machine (or my ipod 5th gen)

I was told I CANNOT only sync part of my music from my Imac Itunes, and since I have an ipod and itunes with the music, I don't really need it on my iphone, but if I sync all the rest, is it going to sync the music too! It is too much data if it does!! And did Icloud take the place of "mobile me". If so can that be used to get some music if I want to from my hard drive mac or ipod?

You were told wrong. You can sync only what you want to sync.
Yes, iCloud is taking place of Mobile Me over time. MM will be turned off in June of next year.
With iCloud, you can store the music in the cloud and download the tracks that you want to listen to without having to sync to your iTunes.

Hi I am a web designer and ahve been working hard recently in adding new web graphic skills to my arsenal. Now, the problem I have been expiriencing with elements 8 is that while trying to reproduce a mirrored text effect, following a tutorial online I found myself not being able to add a layer mask on top of one of the text layers, to then apply a gradient. In the end I did it with Fireworks but is there any way around it in Photoshop Elements 8.

On the iPhone, go to Settings > General > Usage > Music (in the Storage Section) > Tap Edit > Tap the Red Circle next to All Music > Tap Delete.

You can create playlists on your computer's iTunes via File > New Playlist or File > New Smart Playlist . Smart playlists can be updated automatically by iTunes e.g. you can create smart playlists that contain a particular music genre and they will be updated automatically if you add music of that genre to iTunes, or you might have a smart playlist of 5* rated tracks etc
When you the sync music to the iPad, then on the device's Music tab you can select which playlist(s) to sync to the iPad

The data lives on the iCloud server. A cached version is kept on your Mac to speed up viewing and to allow you to access the data when offline.

When I connect her iPod, the playlist shows up on her device. When I disconnect, I can not find it in order to play it. Help me.

I have the address book for our company on a server. I would like to synchronise the address books in both directions.
Is this possible? Any tips as to how to do this? Any ideas or suggestions?

Mapping solves the problem. Groupwise has no corresponding field for "Direct Connect". For ease of data entry, I mapped the Direct Connect field in my 8350i with the pager field in my groupwise address books. The BB desktop manager now syncs the nextel direct connect #'s.
The steps are:
In BB desk top manager, select Sync Configuration; address book; advanced; Field Mapping (at bottom of list). Map an unused field in the GW address book with the direct connect field in the 8350i.
I assumethis would also work with outlook and others.

My name is David. I suffered a brain injury a few years ago and I need help organizing documents related to the lawsuit. I would like to have a standard form, that I attach to each document. It would have some of the following fields:
Date of the document
Author of the document
Case Number
Drop down menu that list types of documents, such as legal research, motions, pleadings, emails, letters etc
The file name
A description that is longer than the file name, this way I can type in the important issues of the document
I would like to be able to search all of the document in the portfolio
Then I would like to see a listing of all of the files with dates and descriptions
Is this possible? Would I have to pay for this customization?
Would the form be the same on each document?

I think you mean directory not portfolio. A portfolio is a type of PDF.
With Acrobat Professional it is possible to get the "creator name", the date created, the date last modified, and the file name into a PDF report using the Action wizard or batch processing. One can also get the subject (if completed).
There are also additional fields contained within the metadata for a document like subject, keywords, It is also possible to add your own metadata tags and values . Once this data is filled in, one could add a new page to each document and have JavaScript automatically add the values. One would also need to adjust the form so the modified date picked up does not change once completed.

In this case there is only 4 levels of recursion. This is not going to cause a problem. You would generally only have problems if your recusion routine is not working correctly and you get in an infinite loop which will lead to resource problems and an abend.
In your particular case you aren't even using many resources at all since all you are doing is printing the file name.

In this cause you might have a problem with resources depending on the number of files in the directory. But the resource problem is because of the memory to hold the filenames in the table, not because a recursive routine was used to get the filename.
