Can someone verify if I'm understanding this properly?

I have been frustrated with trying to back up my iPad to iCloud for the past couple of days because, although all of the apps are set to "on" in the "manage storage" area in iCloud, many of my apps are listed with "no data" in the backup. I was concerned at first because I thought this meant those apps showing "no data" weren't getting backed up, but I think what is happening is that those apps just don't have any data associated with them to back up (the apps aren't gone or going to disappear).
The apps are all in iTunes and until I delete them from iTunes, they will continue to remain on my device (through the sync process) regardless of whether or not they have any data in the icloud backup. I think I was confusing the data associated with the app, which i'm assuming to be favorites, settings, scores, etc, with the actual app itself.
Am I understanding this correctly? So I should not be concerned when I see "no data" listed for an app?
Or if I'm wrong, can someone explain the "no data" thing? (my cloud is nowhere near capacity)

You seem to have a pretty good understanding from what I know about this - or at least you understand it the same way that I do!
You may have no data backed up - either because there is no data (or files) yet to be backed up - or the apps do not work with iCloud yet. For instance - the Apple iWorks apps - Pages, Numbers and Keynote all work with iCloud. You can backup the data and files in those apps and you can access the files in your icloud.com account on a computer via a browser. If you have all of the apps turned on to backup to iCloud - you should have nothing to worry about. You can never lose purchased apps - even if you have to download them again.
You are also correct about the apps - if you delete from the device - but still have them in iTunes - they will sync back when you sync with iTunes again. But if you delete the apps from the device - you will lose all of the data and settings from those apps.

If you want the shuffle to be always visible in Windows (outside of iTunes), you need to Enable disk use.
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, select the Summary tab. You should see a checkbox that says Enable disk use. Check it and click Apply.
NOTE: If disk use is enabled, you have to Eject the shuffle in iTunes, BEFORE you physically disconnect it. If disk use is NOT enabled, you can disconnect the shuffle at any time, as long as iTunes is not doing something with it at that moment (such as syncing); the shuffle's light will then be blinking (to indicate DO NOT DISCONNECT).
So, unless you want to use the shuffle like a USB flash drive (carry random files on it), you may want to NOT Enable disk use.

Back now. Are you saying that you entered you iCloud ID and password in the Find My iPhone app (see photo below), and it said you don't have an iCloud account? Are you sure this is the ID for your iCloud account (check Settings>iCloud next to Account at the top on the device you are trying to track)?
Also, did you try using this ID and password on icloud.com on your computer to try to track it, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442? Did that work?

That's an error reported from DVD Player I believe...
kDVDErrorMissingGraphicsDevice = -70017, // A valid graphics device is not available.
There's some conjecture it has to do with HDCP, or Video Card problems, but the only 2 cures/fixes I found were Software related, one was cured by updating the OS, another by replacing the Video kexts.
I think this error also shows up if trying to use DVD player in Safe Mode, (too much research isn't good! ).

the same problem happened to me also, i felt that while playing hay day, if some calls came in between and if i answered the call, the setting of all the icloud items turns off. (i have backup of all the items on icloud), after deleting the account and making settings of mail, contact, calander etc on on mode and after rebooting the phone, it again download from icloud server. but it is just a headache. do not know how to handle this.

You can only use apps that are compatible with your dvice and ios version.
The secons gen ipod touch can only go to 4.2.1.
If you are running 4.2.1 then you can only use apps that require 4.2.1 or lower.

Can someone verify video output from dock connector after 4.x update?

Someone told me that they can no longer play videos on your TV (with a video cable) after iOS4.x updates. I recently paid $50+ for an Apple video cable to all me to play videos from my iPhone on my TV. I am still on 3.1.2. I want to make sure the upgrade doesn't break that.

I assume you're talking about Security Update 2012-004 for Snow Leopard? Have you by any changed moved your Mail application out of the Applications folder? This will cause updates to fail to work - Apple's included applications should always be left where Apple installed them.
If this is the case, move it back, then downlad the update from Security Update 2012-004 (Snow Leopard) and run it again.

To avoid having to pay again for apps you have already purchased, use the same Apple ID (likely the current one) on both devices. You can adjust this in:
Settings > iTunes & App Store.
So that you can communicate with each other, use separate Apple IDs for iCloud, Messages, and FaceTime. Adjust those in:
Settings > iCloud
Settings > Messages
Settings > FaceTime
