Can Soundbooth CS3 effects be used directly in Premiere Pro?

Just wondering if you can add the effects in Soundbooth CS3 to the Audio Effects panel within Premiere Pro CS3?
By this I mean, can I use Soundbooth effects in Premiere, without actually starting Soundbooth? I do NOT want to use the 'Edit In Soundbooth' option.
Thanks

  • Does Audition 3 integrate directly into Premiere Pro CS3?

On occasion I need to use a filter like De-Esser that is not in Soundbooth. Can I go directly from Premiere Pro CS3 to Audition 3 and back again like the previous versions?

    Hi Bill,
If Audition is registered in Windows as the default application for WAV files, then using "Edit Original" from the Premiere Pro right-click menu will automatically open the file in Audition.
There is also a thread at http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b59d8f/0 that documents a different method, however it is not something I've had a chance to try.

  • Using XVID with Premiere Pro CS3?

I'm trying to export to video using XVID encoder, two pass. I start the first pass, an XVID status window appears, and then it appears to get stuck.
Has anyone here used XVID with Premiere Pro CS3? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks, I'll try the options on XVID. Currently I've been exporting to raw AVI, then using AutoGK. I normally don't do use XVID, but for a partcicular racing game, there are some telephone wires that appear less aliased with XVID mpeg4, than the encoders you get with Premiere. I've tried the mpeg2, mpeg4, and windows encoders, and don't get quite the same results. One of the final destinations is a you tube "hi-def" video. I also make windows movie files since they also can be viewed while streaming via Windows Movie player. My web host throttles throughput to 350kb per second now, so I keep most of my videos at 640x480 at around 1972kbps for the video, 128kbps for the audio. <br /><br />Example wmv video from racing game<br />http://jeffareid.net/nfsuc/nucreoznds.wmv<br /><br />Example youtube video same video (<ctrl>+click to open new window):<br />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQuRfJMgsms&fmt=22<br /><br />Better example of youtube video, I don't know if it's content related or if youtube compressed better. • Can't import uncompressed AVI files in CS6 Premiere Pro

    Hi!
I'm using Adobe CS6 Premiere Pro on Windows 7 Pro (64bit) but can't import uncompressed AVI files.
I get the error that the file has no valid fomat or is damaged, but I can watch the avi videos without a
    problem with the media player.
I also have CS4 installed, with CS4 I can import this files.
What can I do to solve this?

AVI is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

  • Can't seem to find free trial of premiere pro after downloading on PC

can't seem to find free trial of premiere pro after downloading on PC

It's under Start > All Programs > Adobe Premiere Pro CC at first. After first launch, windows will remeber it as a recent program and it will be easier to see.
As for why it's not responding... try all the obvious stuff, like force quit/restart/relaunch. Then check your specs and make sure they meet the requirements. After that, it may require some troubleshooting with tech support to find out why things did not install correctly for you.
And, to be clear, installing the tirial is essentially the same as installing the full retail version. The main difference is that you will ge tthat trial dialog each time you launch and it will time out after 30 days if you don't activate by then.

  • Can animated titles created in Titlemotion imported into Premiere Pro CS3?

    Hi,
We are using Titlemotion Software(Standalone Version)for creating animated titles.
We would want to use these animations into Premiere Pro CS3.
We can save the animations made in Titlemotion as
    1) an FX-script,
    2) a targa sequence &
    3) a '.VIA' format.
'VIA' files created in Titlemotion do not get imported into Premiere Pro CS3, Premiere Pro informs that they are not supported.
Is there any way to import a .VIA file into Premiere Pro CS3?
    OR
Is there any work-around wherein animations created in Titlemotion Pro could be taken into Premiere Pro CS3?

Save as a targa sequence with an alpha channel.

  • Why I can't use Lumetri on Premiere Pro CC?

I've installed Premiere Pro CC and Speed Grade CC. I've seen the tutorial on adobe tv, but when I select 'lumetri' in the Adobe Premiere effects panel, and the little box opens so I can choose the Looks/LUT, I don't have any look to choose.
I've searched all over my computer and I don't have those files installed in my computer. How or where can I get them?

    Jim
That's a different set of looks. For the LUT Ann is right. I just learned this all. To add a LUT to a clip or adjustment layer you have to go to Color Correction folder, then Lumetri and drag that to the clip. Then a dialog comes up asking where that is. Then you go to Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Pro CC/Lumteri/ and select the LUT you want. Also you have to make sure the ones for your camera are installed. For example I'm working with Sony F55 camera and had to get the LUT from Sony's site.

  • Using .AVI in Premiere Pro.

    Hello,
First of all I want to point out that it's about a MacBook Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
    This is the problem:
I am an anime editor. I download videos of anime and edit them with my MacBook Pro. Back when i had windows, it was easy: i just installed the needed .avi codecs ( div/xvid) and i could use the .avi files ( wich the clips of the anime i download is) and i was good to go.
Since i have a macbook pro, i can't edit the clips i want with premiere: I installed all the xvid and divx codecs i could find wich allowed me to play the files in quicktime, and also i can edit them with After Effects. But whenever i try to import files in Premiere, it says: ' Unsupported compression in file.'
I've been looking for a solution for 2 days, i would highly appreciate if someone could find a solution.
    Regards
( Sorry for my bad english, I am not from the UK / USA. )

You did not misread. I have yet to see PrPro (or PrE) work perfectly with Xvid/DivX material. The main issues are Video, but no Audio, Audio, but no Video, or horribly and dynamically OOS Audio. With the Video issues, one often gets one still frame from the beginning, and then no more images, though the Audio might continue to play.
On the PC, I use a conversion program, DigitalMedia Converter, that is shareware, but I think only for the PC, and it does batch conversion. I load it up with Xvid/DivX files and alter my settings to get SD 720 x 480 29.97 FPS DV-AVI Type II files with 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. I hit Convert, and get a cup of coffee. When done, so is the conversion.
Unfortunately, I do not know of such for the Mac, but others probably will. I do know that QT Pro should be able to do the conversion to MOV, through Export, but with no batch function, that I know of.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - as I mentioned, some other NLE's are much more capable at editing Xvid/DivX files, than any Adobe program is. However, PrPro will Export to DivX (Xvid has always failed, or even crashed the program, so I do not bother with that) just fine, but from DV-AVI Type II source footage. Xvid/DivX are delivery-only CODEC's, and are not meant to be edited. The material has been greatly compressed, and is in a GOP structure, neither of which is helpful, when going to edit.

  • Can't import Final Cut XML file into Premiere Pro CS4 MAC

Hello,  I'm traying to import FCP Studio 2 XML file into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4for the purpose of then color correcting the project in Adobe After Effects.
I followed all the rules of exporting XML files from my Final Cut Studio 2 timeline, then closed FCP, opened Adobe Premiere CS4 and when I go to Import option XML file is greyed out.  I can't select the XML file...
Could  someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?  Thank you so much

I'll just say that the high end AE users list I frequent suggests that the more common workflow is to bring AE to FCP for color correction.  Isn't that one of FCP's strengths?
Also, to the extent that you want to process an FCP project in AE, look for the best way to bring it directly, not through Premiere.  Ask in the AE forum what opinions people have.  Mac and PC types use AE, but my impression is that only a small proportion of those users use Premiere.

  • Mercury Engine in After Effects CS5.5? Or, why is After Effects so much slower the Premiere Pro?

    Take this quote :
"by Todd Kopriva on Apr 25, 2010 at 8:08:14 am
'Mercury' is a marketing name for these performance improvements in Premiere Pro: - multiprocessing
    - multithreading
    - 64-bit application
    - use of CUDA to to some processing on supported hardware
The first three of these are in After Effects CS5. (The first two have been in After Effects for much longer.)"
However, if I drop my Canon 5D Mark II footage (h264) into Premiere Pro it plays back SO MUCH better then the exact same footage in After Effects. Why is that? I DO NOT have an NVideo card and I have NOT applied any effects or scaling to the clip, just raw footage dropped into each program.
I do notice that After Effects has to render to play back (green bar being generated above footage). But it does slow very slowly, like 9fps. Premier Pro seems to cruise right along at near realtime. This is 24fps 1080p footage. One other point of interest, I have encoded the clip into Cineform codec as well. On Premier Pro I can tell a difference, the cineform scrubs a lot smoother then the original H264 clip. But, again, in After effects both the h264 and Cineform clips are very slow to render and scrub.
Any improvements along these lines for CS5.5?
Am I just missing something obvious?
    Thanks for any info,
    --greg.

I think the problem is that hitting the space bar and hitting '0' (ram preview) both draw that green bar, and both seem to use it if it is already there. I guess the real difference is how that green bar gets generated. It does seem to get generated faster when I ram preview as opposed to hitting the space bar. Using both cores I have I guess (early 2009 24" iMac).
When you hit the space bar, AE TRIES to play back as it renders each frame.  Imagine what happens if it's a comp with 120 3D layers that all accept lights and cast shadows.  That's why you don't use the space bar.
In a RAM Preview, AE fills up the memory available to it with rendered frames, then plays them back from RAM.  Depending on processor speed, dimensions of comp & frame rate, this may or may not be real time, but there are ways to get real time.  With the space bar, you don't stand a chance at real time.

From what I hear new iMacs are due out soon with the new Thunderbolt (!) and Sandy Bridge processors/chipsets. Should be a LOT faster then what I have now.
For AE work I'd say maybe yes, maybe no.  To make AE REALLY speedy, you need a lot of processor cores and a boatload of RAM.  iMacs aren't known for either of those things.

  • After Effects Composition Not Refreshing in Premiere Pro

I'm using a late 2013 Macbook pro 15 inch 2.3ghz with Creative Cloud CC, updated as of 27/5/14.
I am linking after effects compositions in my premiere pro sequence. After pressing enter to render my effects and watch my project so far, i'll go to change some text in my linked after effects composition, save it, and go back into premiere. The project is not updated in premiere, even when scrubbing through, restarting both apps, even restarting the computer. The only fix i have found is to click on 'Delete Render Files in to out" and then re-render the effects in my entire sequence, which is very inconvenient when all I want is to see a single small change.
How do I get my sequence to automatically update when I make a change in a linked composition?

    Ann,
I understand what you are saying. I'm not really even concerned or talking about Dynamic Linking per se. No matter what way you bring in an AE comp it's always gonna be dynamic linked. Even if you import it like it was a regular piece of media it's always gonna be DL'd in the Premiere comp.
    Jim,
I agree and understand why  the 2nd diesn't work. I wouldn't expect the 'replace with AE' in premiere to work mainly because whatever media you used in the AE comp is not brought over. Wish it would treat the AE comp like it was a piece of media and just carry it over.
    About the other...,.
Also are you sure were talking about the same thing? I'm talking about opening only After Effects then File - Import - Premiere Pro project.  When I do this everywhere there was an AE comp in my PR timeline. It is now missing. Even if manually replace it with AE comp in AE, it has no idea where the media is. I have to manually re-import every AE project and stick it back in the timeline.
Have you tried it with CS4? I don't have CS3 anymore but I seem to remember it wasn't a problem back then.
Also Jim if you still say this works for you, would you mind if I uploaded a .prproj with say one piece of media, then a simple AE (only titles or solids) would you mind checking it on your version of AE?

  • How can i edit Title that i create in premiere pro?

    Hello
since i didnt find a way to color text in 4 colors in After effect
but i did found it in premiere pro- (called 4 color gradient)
so i create the Title in the premiere pro...but i still want to make on the text some effects from after effect
    how can i do that?

Since you're new to AE, you should start here. The resources linked there will give you the information you need as well as a solid foundation in how to use AE. If you neglect such a foundation, you will face a world of frustration.

  • Making After Effects lower thirds editable in Premiere Pro

A friend has created some lower thirds using After Effects.
I want to to be able to edit them (change the text entry) within Premiere as I shall be using them a lot.
Is this possible and if so how?
    Many thanks, Mark
PS. I've just moved over from Final Cut Studio which I've been using for over a decade.

I myself have a couple of different ways to deal with many, many titles or lower thirds in a single project. I am not a fan of making multiple titles using the Premiere Pro Title Designer.
If I make a lower third in After Effects, I can simply change the name in the lower third by animating the source text. I have an example you can see here:
The other way is to use InDesign, which can read a text file with all of the names in it. There is a video link in this thread:  Brilliant way to create titles from text files
By the way, if you are trying to get rid of a black background from a 3rd party then perhaps you should be keying it out with a Luma Key. But to get the black to be transparent in Premiere Pro from After Effects, you just need to use the right codec. Like Quicktime Animation, or any of the others that export an alpha channel.
