Can't able to print Non English data properly in PDF Output

Can't able to print non english data properly
Example:
I want to print the germen data (Währung),But it printing like this (Währung) in PDF out put
What the changes i have to do to achive this
Thanks&regards
yamini

Hi Yamini,
I think this happens when you look at utf-8 in Windows wiith another character set. I've noticed that the XML file (and hence the PDF output) displays those characters when I preview reports on the BI desktop, but the output from the server is fine, so I don't worry about it.

  • Can't seem to save non-English as text from PDF using Reader

I have several PDF documents that were originally generated by OpenOffice from a UTF8-encoded text file. The text is in different languages, e.g. Korean, Arabic, Russian, English. When I open these documents and then "save as text", the resulting text files contain garbage or nothing at all in all cases except for English. Is it possible to extract non-English text from a PDF document using Reader? If not, is there a different product that could be used for this purpose? Thanks much!

They're using fonts that you don't have on your system so no, it isn't possible with Reader.

  • Handling Non English language characters in PDF output

    Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we have to display an existing Smartform output in a PDF format.
We have used OTF to PDF conversion and displayed the PDF output in a container.
The issue is if certain characters are of non english language then the PDF is displaying these characters as special symbols.
The following string is getting dispalyed in the SmartForm as follows:
    ОРЕНБУРГАВТОРЕМСЕРВИС_
The same string is displayed as follows in the PDF form :
Any pointers on how to handle such cases would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Before calling the smartform, use the FM 'SSF_GET_DEVICE_TYPE' and get  the device type based on the language.
    For eg:
      CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_GET_DEVICE_TYPE'
        EXPORTING
          i_language = l_langu
        IMPORTING
          e_devtype  = lwa_output_options-tdprinter.
Then you need to build the other control parameters like this:
    Build control parameters.
      lwa_control_parameters-getotf  = c_charx.
      lwa_control_parameters-device = 'PRINTER'.
      lwa_control_parameters-preview = ''.
      lwa_control_parameters-no_dialog = c_charx.
      lwa_output_options-tddest = 'LOCL'.
    Pass this lwa_output_options & lwa_control_parameters to output_options & control_parameters respectively in the Smartform FM.
This should ideally solve this issue.

  • SQL Tool to insert/update/delete non english data

I have a requirement to insert/update non English data using command line.
I know that Sql*Plus cannot be used for this. I have tried Sql*Loader and that works fine for inserts.
Question is can SQL*loader be used for updates and deletes too.
Also which utility is the best one to be used in this scenario.

In another forum I found out that SQL*Plus can actually be used for inserting unicode data.

  • Can username, password have unicode(non english) characters

Does Oracle allow a username, password to have non english characters.

I found the answer to my own question. In essence it looks like the answer is Yes for UserName and a little confusing for the Password. Password has to be in Single byte characterset, not clear whether 7 bit or 8 bit. 8 bit from my understanding is Ascii + some Western European characters.
Following is from Oracle 10G Database SQL reference
    user
Specify the name of the user to be created. This name can contain only characters from your database character set and must follow the rules described in the section "Schema Object Naming Rules". Oracle recommends that the user name contain at least one single-byte character regardless of whether the database character set also contains multibyte characters.
    Note:
Oracle recommends that user names and passwords be encoded in ASCII or EBCDIC characters only, depending on your platform.
    BY password
The BY password clause lets you creates a local user and indicates that the user must specify password to log on to the database. Passwords can contain only single-byte characters from your database character set regardless of whether the character set also contains multibyte characters.
Passwords must follow the rules described in the section "Schema Object Naming Rules", unless you are using the Oracle Database password complexity verification routine. That routine requires a more complex combination of characters than the normal naming rules permit.

  • BW DSO DB Partitions can be used in HANA Non-active data concept?

    Hello,
In BW we can do the DB partitioning of the Standard DSOs based on the time characteristic (0calmonth or 0fiscper). Will these
partitions be considered for the early unload based on the usage pattern in HANA Non-active data concept (Early unload / Displacement
    etc,). ?
    Thanks

    Hi Vijay Patki,
Standars DSO tables are not marked as Non Active by default.
see the note for more details " 1767880 - Non-active data concept for BW on SAP HANA DB ".
And one more thing I would like to mention is the beauty of BW on HANA is :BW Uses HANA's Memory In A Smarter Way  .Its not really necessay for the user to do partitioning at object level because HANA redistribution takes care of it automatically.

  • Not able to print the report I created in pdf portrait using report 6i

    Hi
I created a report using oracle report builder 6i in pdf format portrait style. When I run the request from apps instance could see the exact output I wanted from "view output" but am getting printout from the printer I selected in different format i.e it prints in such a way that if we open a pdf using notepad how does the data in it looks,in the same way am getting the printout. I tried with different formats like postscript,html,..etc But still am getting the prinout in the same format as I told above. I can take print out from viewoutput but I want the print out directly from apps request. The thing is using the same printer I get prints when ran for other report requests which were in landscape and portrait also but nt sure report requests with pdf format working or not. Please help me if you know the solution for my problem.
    Thanks in advance
    dhar

    Dhar,
In order to use the PDF output type in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) there are some server and EBS setups that have to completed first. Your EBSA DBA or Apps Server Admin will need to make these setups. I don't recall what setups were involved, but I do remember it took us a while to get everything configured correctly before we were able to use the PDF output type.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

  • How can users of WebHelp print out help chapters or generate PDFs?

More and more users of our WebHelp would like to print out help chapters or generate PDFs.
Does anyone know if this is possible with RoboHelp10?
I know that this function is available in Microsoft HTML Help...
    Thanks in advance.

Theoretically it is possible with Microsoft HTML help. Try it though and you will see the output is pretty horrible.
The only solution I have seen is for you to generate that output and then provide a link to the PDFs.

  • Data missing in PDF output generated by RDF locally only for one time.

    Hi All,
Could any one please help me in finding the reason of the below mentioned issue.
I have downloaded an RDF onto local machine and changed only sorting of few columns required.
After that I had generated PDf output on local machine for first few times PDF is generated with correct output.
Unfortunately when I again generated PDF output as final version, a few columns are missed in displaying in the PDF output. again I ran the RDF for next time and the PDF is generated correctly.
Now I want to know what may be the reason that for that time only PDF generated with missing data.
FYI, Problem occured in Report Builder *9.0.4.0.33*
This reason is really urgent and needfull for me.
Your help is very much appreciated.

    Hello,
What is the report orientation PORTRAIT/LANDSCAPE? What happens if you set the SYSTEM PARAMETER ORIENTATION to PORTRAIT/LANDSCAPE upon your report output and then generate again. While saving as PDF also see the page orientation.

1.) Read [this excellent introduction into Unicode|http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/Unicode.html]. The subject is more complex than you think.
2.) Verify at each point in your program that your String contains the correct value. Note that using System.out.println() might not be helpful here, since the console might not be able to display those characters.
3.) When a String contains invalid characters, then the error already happened before! Don't try to fix it after the fact, look where the original byte[]->String transition is made and make sure that it is correct.
