Can't access account online

I receive my bill alerts via email and don't have record of my Fios account number. My security question was set relating to my spouse (of which I have none) and now I can't access my account to pay bills. I'm using the same computer to pay my Verizon bill that I've been using for two years so I don't know why a security question was required (says it's because my computer isn't registered). I'm assuming it's a new security measure set up by Verizon but now I'm afraid I'll have a late payment on my record if this doesn't get resolved. What to do??

I've been having the same problem since Tuesday. I log in to my account to watch Verizon online DAILY and all of a sudden it says that I'm locked out of my account. My security question is about a spouse, which I don't have one (and never had). I was just on the phone with customer service for 20 minutes and they said without the answer to the question they can't validate my account. I have a home phone (that's not connected) so I have that number but can't check the messages since an actual phone doesn't exist. Customer Service said my username didn't trigger anything and neither did my cell number which should be my contact number. I also don't have access to my account number because I do paperless. It's been very frustrating and at the end of the call they told me there was nothing they can do. Luckily I do automatic payment so I don't have to worry about being late on my bill but being permanently locked out of my account is frustrating.

    There is nothing that you can do to get rid of the balance on your own. Contact iTunes Store Support and seek their assistance. I believe that they can reset your balance for you.

    Can't help you sorry Annew, but quick as you can edit out the email address in your post.( Log in, find your post and click Options at top right and you'll see Edit, click that,delete the email address in your post and click Save or Post - I forget which).
    Forums such as this get scanned by bots looking for emails to harvest for Vigraria and other spam emails, and your email address is vulnerable. Best to ask a Mod to help you, or just wait here for a helfpful soul, because answers on forums and newsgroups are good to be seen by all, because other people lurk and find answers to the same problem,or similar. If you have to post emails addresses, use a disposable address in the mydisposableaddress-forums AT BTthingy DOT com format. Log into your BTYahoo page, go to Mail, Options (top right - I use Classic View) then click Spam in left column, then Set up a Disposable address at bottom of main page , and a new page should open.

  • Can't access the Online Player, nobody can help

    I am at my wit's end.
    I am an Infinity customer, and all I want is access to the BT Sport Online Player.  This seems to baffle absolutely everybody at BT.
    I can't activate the player online, since it constantly gives me an error. Why you need everyone to manually activate a free service is beyond me.  Just do it for us.
    After a few days of this error I call up, and must answer the automated question.  I say "BT Sport".  This puts me through to the BT Sport (sales) team.  I did this on Sunday and the helpful agent said they'd add BT Sport to my account and I'd get a welcome e-mail within 15 minutes or at most 24hrs.
    It's now Tuesday and nothing is working still, so I call up again. Again I'm put through to the sales team because of the useless voice recognition system.  The guy says he can't help me at all being on the sales team, and gives me a new number.
    .... The new number goes to the exact same place; merely a robot asking me to state my problem.  I say "Technical Support" this time and am put through to an automated robot that tests my line and calls me back.  The tests are done (I assume) and I get the call back.  The robot says they can't solve my problem (without anybody asking what the problem was) so I'm put through to a human.
    This person is from the landline technical department and has nothing to do with BT Sport, so puts me through to someone else.   I don't know where this was, but they listen and seem to try to do something... but then just transfer me to someone else. This is, you guessed it, the BT Sport team!
    I explain to the guy that I've been passed around for ages and want this fixed, and he seems confident that he can.  After a few minutes of "looking into it" he puts me on hold. The hold music plays and I wait, before suddenly being put back into a "queue"....
    ... for 45 minjutes, and nobody answers. I hang up in anger.
    Enraged at this point, I call back to the BT Sport team.  The poor lady on the other end takes the brunt of my frustration but reiterates that they are just a sales team and can't help me at all.  She gives me the number for "tech support" which is just the same number I was given before (08001114567) that just goes to the voice thing again.  I explain this and she's very sorry but otherwise totally out of ideas.
    Can anyone tell me what to do here?  This is the most ridiculous experience I've ever had with customer service and I've no idea what to do.  I can't believe that it's so difficult for BT to just Activate my account for BT Sport so I can use the Online player.

    No, it says I must activate it.  Which I try to do via the link, hit the checkbox confirming my account, but just get the same cryptic error over and over. It says this:

  • Signed in, but can't access account, wish list...

    I am signed into iTunes, but if I click on my name (top right), try to access my account, try to look at my wish list or add to my wish list, I get a window asking me to enter my password.  When I enter my password, the same window pops up again asking for me to enter my password (it does not say the password or Apple ID is incorrect).  Keep in mind that I AM SIGNED IN already.  I can still make purchases and rent movies.  I'm running iTunes 10.4.1 and Lion.  I have reset my password, just to see if that was the problem.  I have quit and re-started several times.  I don't know what else to try.
    Any ideas?

    I use the UK iTunes store.
    But my problem has been solved.  It was painful.  It took most of a day.  It started with emails to the 'ExpressLane' help centre (very unhelpful, they basically sent me a bunch of links that didn't help), and ended with several phone calls to Apple Care. No one could help me, so I kept getting passed on to higher-level technicians.
    I'm not super technical, but this is how it was solved:
    After trying an endless list of suggestions from the technicians, they had me bring up my Library Folder through the Finder's 'Go' menu.  I needed to press the Alt key to make the Library show up.  I then opened the Preferences Folder in the Library Folder.  I dragged every file from the Preferences Folder to a new Folder on the desktop.  I can't remember if I restarted my Mac, but afterwards, I had full access to my iTunes account.
    HOWEVER, it can be very dangerous to just empty your Preferences Folder.  I was lead to believe you could lose all sorts of data: browser bookmarks, calendar events, contacts, photo and music libraries, etc.  So the technician had me keep the Preferences Folder on my desktop, and move a bunch of the files back, specifically a lot of the '.plist' and 'lockfile' files.  Basically all the files that had to do with the applications I use most.  I still have the old preferences in a folder, just in case something doesn't work in the future.  But I think the bottom line is that one (or more) of the files in the Preferences Folder of the Library Folder was causing the problem.  I suppose you could try to remove the files one by one to find the specific culprit, but I have over 400 files.  If you are clever, you could try something like moving half, then the other half and working it down more scientifically.
    I hope that helps.  Everyone I spoke to said they had never heard about this problem before.  I'm sorry I'm not better at describing the procedure.  But it definitely had something to do with a file (or files) in my Preferences Folder.

    This has been going on since Jan 12 1000 Eastern Standard time.
    I can tell from the other discussions that I'm not the only one.
    I can access the store, browse the different sections (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc), I can't listen to sample clips of music.
    But when ever I try to access my account, view shopping cart, purchases media, or check for downloads I get the striped bar & the notice "Accessing iTunes Store". But that's it, the bar just keeps cycling for minutes on end without connecting.
    Back on Jan 12th I got on error message stating that I was almost out of memory. But I have nearly 40GB free on my Laptop HD and on my external HD (where my library is located) I have a spare 260GB. At the time, no other applications were running so it couldn't have been the RAM load.
    Anyone else having similar problems connecting? This is getting unbelievably frustrating. I've been an iTunes customer for nearly two years with almost no problems. Do they realize that with this problem in place they're effectively losing a customer by shutting me out?

    I got on to ask the same question, in my particular situation, I have been unable for three weeks to choose a song in the iTunes store and send it to my Shopping Cart. The response, which didn't have a number was, "The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Having been stopped by this note for three weeks has been quite frustrating. After reading the string, I thought I was going to have to dump a lot of my Shopping Cart (that I use like a Wish List).
    Now my Shopping Cart seems to be finally unstuck. This is what I had to do, and it may not work for everybody. I went to the Shopping Cart (after taking screen shots of it in the event I had to fully dump it) and purchased a couple of songs stored there. I also deleted a couple of selections that were apparently no longer available. Then I went back to the iTunes Store, went to the song I've been wanting to send to the Shopping Cart for three weeks, clicked on it and this time, it went to the Shopping Cart without seeing the "y'all come back later" roadblock. I quickly purchased it too.
    I don't know if this is a permanent fix, or if I'll have to try it again next time it gets stuck, but maybe it will work for you.

    HELP!! I udpated all my itunes etc., and can access my Mac App Store, but can no longer access my itunes purchases or account info. I don't get an error message. But, when I log into iTunes and see my apple ID at top right hand corner, but then go to purchase history and account info, it just keeps taking me back to log in block. I'm not getting an error message, but can't pull up anything, but my name.

    Ok.  Found something that said to shut down and hold the option, command, p, and r keys on restart.  Held them down for a few restarts and everything automatically signed in and works.  Woohoo!!!

    Okay, so earlier today 2/23/12, I decided to change my password because my friend was always using my Skype account. I go ahead and then I quit Skype. I came back from the mall and decided to log on to Skype. I type in the password I chose earlier, and I see a message that reads "Your Skype Name and password were not recognized. Please check and try again." I go ahead and try 8 different password combinations such as a typo, different numbers, and even different passwords I might have typed in. They all don't work. I click on the forgotten password link and it wants me to type in my email address I used for my Skype. Unfortunately I don't remember my email I used or the password I used to get into it. I entered my credit card information as another attempt to access my account and that isn't right either. I have a 3 month subscription that I have on my account and I need it to be stopped before it charges onto my account in April. 
    Please help!

  • Can't Access Account on iTunes

    I've spend over 30 minutes trying to figure this out and going through the endless loop of how fail apple's support page is and I'm not sure where to post this since I can't seem to find anything anywhere on apple.com on account issues. So here's the problem:
    I just transfered everything to a new computer and I went to authorize the purchased music and videos that I have on iTunes. It wouldn't take my username/password. Tried to recover my password, but apple forced me into creating a new account which makes everything I've bought through iTunes useless since I no longer have access to my old account.
    Is there anyway to link my old account to my new account and/or is there some hidden contact form or site that I can use to contact apple without having to pay since my iPod Touch is out of warrenty and it seems like the only way I can get help is to pay apple for something that's not related to my hardware.

    Use Manage Apple ID in the link provided. You do not need to create a new Apple ID as the other poster suggesred. Once done you old e-mail wo't be used as an Apple ID anymore.
    Do you have music, apps or books bought using the old Apple ID?
    Note: Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.

  • Can't access account in iTunes

    Today I tried to access my account at the iTunes store and could not. I could sign on to the store without problem but when clicking on "account", I am asked to "Sign in to view account information". I enter my password, and the sign in dialog pops up again. After a few cycles of this loop, the dialog ceases to appear. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I've tried trashing the preferences. Didn't work. Mac OS 10.6.8

    Had exactly the same problem on 2 Macs running OSX 10.6.8.
    On both Macs, Firefox is the default Browser and Cookies and Scripts are allowed for iTunes.com.
    However, Safari Preferences - Privacy - Block Cookies was set to "Always".  I changed this setting to "From third parties and advertisers".
    Now iTunes allows me to view my Account Information.
    Hopes this helps someone.  I couldn't find this fix posted anywhere.
