Can't access an old itunes account

I reinstalled itunes but some of my songs won't play. They are associated with an old account. I don't remember the password. Since that email address no longer exists, I can't receive the password hint and my bday isn't accepted. How can I access old accounts that I no longer have the email address or passwords for via my new account? There's a lot of money tied up in those accounts!

You don't need a contact email address to be able to change the password. You should be able to go to https://iforgot.apple.com/ and enter your birthday and answer a personal question, then you can enter a new password (and you should give add a valid email address).
If you can't get this to work you will need to contact Support: go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options.

If you have purchases on your iPod Shuffle that you want to sync back to iTunes, but are under the Apple ID you no longer have access to, you'll need to reset that account information. You can use this link to reset your password.

If that doesn' work or help, you'll need to contact iTunes support and have them walk you through the process of resetting the older account information. Once you know the email and password again, you can authorize your new computer and transfer any purchases from this account back to iTunes.
For all non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to the assistance of some sort of third party software that is not supported by Apple. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Sure, you can buy new things. You just can't re-download past purchases for 90 days after changing the AppleID used with a computer, as the link provided by ChitlinsCC discusses. To avoid this problem make sure you always have backups of all purchases you make which is a good idea in any case in case a distributor pulls an item from the store whereby you won't be able to redownload it.

You'll need to reset the password that account then before you can transfer these purchases to your iTunes library and your iPhone.

iTunes will let you sync some stuff from multiple computers, but it'll only let you sync music, videos or apps from one iTunes library.

You cannot delete an account. Even if you did, you cannot move the items bought with an account to another. The e-mail address used for the account name is just an identifier. If you changed the contact e-mail address in the account settings it would send e-mail to the new address.
If the account is truly inaccessible, contact service to see if they can help you with this.

Long time ago before I knew much about all this, I created my iTunes account with a sbcglobal email account. The library that I purchased on that account was extensive and is on my new macbook..... but I CAN NOT access the email associated with it, nor apparently answer the security questions! OK, that being said, you don't "delete" an account from iTunes. An account will always be there; it's just a matter of whether you are logged in to iTunes on your particular computer using that particular account. What I think you want to do is just sign out of that account on your computer, so go to iTunes Store>[your Apple ID] (next to the back/forward buttons) and then "sign out".

I can't access my old gamecenter account.

So a while back (maybe around 2-3 years ago) I had a game center account when you didn't use an Apple ID, you just made a name and started. All my game data was on it, and I remember the name and everything and I can locate it on my sister's iPod and stuff. It had around 8,000 points. About a year ago when I updated my iPhone to iOS 7 it signed me in to my Apple ID's account and I haven't been able to get into my other one since. I have tried contacting Apple over the phone but every time I call they either tell me they can't do anything to help it or keep sending me through trains of people, transferring me from one person to the next to the next, and I can't play any of my games because all the data was on my old account.
Does anyone here know how to get back into an old Game Center account that doesn't have an Apple ID connected to it?
P.S. I'm putting this into 'Using iPhone' category because apparently there's not category for Game Center or Apple IDs (that I can find, anyway)

I can't access my old AOL account downloads - can you help?

I have just pruchased a new laptop. When I try and play music purchased from iTunes using an old AOL id, it keeps asking me for the password but does not accept it. When I try and reset the password it claims to send an email but the resulting email does not appear in any possible alternative email inbox that I have. Itunes want me to pay £25 to talk about this problem which is not of my making!

You keep things nice and simple by having the same password for both AOL and your iTunes Store account (although we are all advised not to do that), but then when you buy a new laptop, you also change email addresses and set up a new iTunes Store account. Why?
If you have a new iTunes Store account, as far as I know, your songs purchased on the old account will not be accessible.
If you purchased songs from the iTunes Store, then on your new laptop, you need to sign into the iTunes Store, using the iTunes account that you purchased the songs from. It has nothing to do with AOL.
If you asked the iTunes Store to reset the password, and send you an email, perhaps you need to check the old email address.
Itunes want me to pay £25 to talk about this problem which is not of my making!
