Can't Access Any Google Related Website, Second Day of This

Hello all,
Yesterday sometime, I realized my iGoogle Home page wasn't loading. Then I found I couldn't retrieve my gmail from Mail or gmail.google.com. I also can't access yahoo or youtube. I tried getting rid of openDNS to leave my ISP DNS but it didn't work. I went back to openDNS with settings changed and nothing has worked thus far. I have also reset my home network.
The weird thing is that I can get on google from any other computer in my home including my iPhone and Wii. I can also get to google from windows machines on my home network too. I tried going to differnet google's such as .ca and .cl to no avail. I'm at wits end here and need help.
Thank You

I have tried on Google Chrome and Firefox with the same results.
The safari error message is as such:>>>
Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.google.com/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “www.google.com”.
Chrome:>>>
This webpage is not available.
The webpage at http://www.google.com/ig might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
More information on this error
Below is the original error message
Error 102 (net::ERRCONNECTIONREFUSED): Unknown error.
Firefox:>>>
In firefox I just get a blank untitled screen saying it's done loading.
-Thank you for the other thread suggestion, your right. We have the exact problem. I wonder if it's virus/malware/spyware relate or google server errors.

  • Linux: Can't go to google-related websites after 35 update

    Hi guys.
I'm running Linux Mint, and firefox just updated to version 35. Right after restarting firefox for this update, I can't load any google-related pages. I do not get any sort of cannot connect error. When I type in the address and press enter, it immediately changes back to the website I was on. I tried deleting my profile, starting in safe mode, disabling plugins/extensions and purging all files and reinstalling.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I'm an idiot, it was because I disabled the HTTPS chiper suite the website was using.

  • I can't get any google related pages working since last security update

Does anyone know how I can uninstall an update? This is driving me crazy. Just started a couple days ago. A few other sites I use often have stopped working as well. I'm also using safari 3.1.2 which I also downloaded recently.
    Any help greatly appreciated

    Try this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However,  I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!

  • Firefox starts but can't access any website.same issue is experienced with Chrome, not Explorer

Hello, I have an issue with surfing with Firefox. The browser starts but can't access any website. The same issue is experienced with Google Chrome. On the other hand, Internet Explorer works smoothly. Thanks

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

  • Can't access any websites! :(

Hi all, I've been on BT Infinity for a month or so now and have been experiencing the same issue with one of my PCs. It connects to the HomeHub via Ethernet and runs Windows XP SP2. I can RD into it fine and FTP works too, as does HTTP! However, I can't access any websites at all. No other device connected through wireless has this issue. Initially I was using a static IP address because of port forwarding but the HH uses MAC addresses so I reverted back to DHCP. That aside, I've tried alternative DNS servers, flushdns and winsock resets and tools. These work for a few minutes then all of a sudden the websits stop appearing again! I'm very frustrated and would really appreciate some help as the BT Support team can't understand what I am saying!
    Many thanks!

    Many thanks.
You have to add the DWORD MaxNegativeCacheTtl yourself, and give it a value of about 5.
If you read the article its says that none of the DWORDs normally exist.
Also, did you read this on the forum?

  • Unable to access any Google site

I'm having a weird problem since morning. I try to access Google homepage or any Google service website, I'm redirected to itimes.com. I have been unable to access my email due to this. If i enter just the websites name in the address bar, i get an error message saying "URL not found". If i try to access Google in Chrome or IE, its working fine. I had faced a similar problem earlier when i tried to access a specific website i was taken to some other website. but the problem was fixed on its own after an hour or two. But not able to access Google on Firefox for a whole day is crippling and irritating. I'm using Firefox 3.6.7 with Weave, Firebug, ColorZilla and MeausureIt addons. Until this problem is fixed i will have to use my second favorite browser, Chrome. Thanks for any solutions.

  • Can connect to WLAN, but can't access any web site...

I have a Nokia E61 that I have configured to access my wirless home network (Linksys). I use personal WPA security, and my SSID is hidden. I loaded the proper settings into an access point setting and when I go to Web, the phone shows that it connects to my Linksys router, but the web page never loads. I eventually get a time out error. If I connect to the same website using GPRS, it loads without any problem.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply!
I have looked at my RV082's firewall setup, but don't see anything out of the ordinary. I even disabled the firewall, but it didn't seem to make any difference. What did you have in mind that I should check?
I get the following error on the E61 when I try to access an Internet website: "Web: Connection Time Out". It takes about a minute or two for the E61 to generate that error.
Regarding the RV082's ability to assign devices to the right subnet, I have three other PCs on my network (2x Windows XP, 1x Windows 98SE), and they have always connected the first time and every time with no issue. How would I check which subnet the RV082 is assigning to the phone? On a PC, I usually do an "ipconfig /all" at the command line and see what's assigned. Is there an equivalent command for the E61 that I could enter while I'm connected?
If I remove the RV082 and plug my WAP54G directly into my cable modem, then my E61 can access the Internet. So it's definitely an incompatiblity with the settings in the RV082 and the E61. But before I/we blame the RV082, I have more or less the same problem at my employer's office: I can connect to the office network, but can't access any sites outside the company network. The only difference is the E61's error message: at work I get a "no gateway response" error within a few seconds. It's a company with around 200 employees at that site, and we're certainly not using an RV082 in the office. I have not tried to call Linksys support yet because in fairness to them, they won't know jack s*** about the E61 and how to configure/check the settings.
Is there something about the DNS settings in the E61 that I'm setting incorrectly? I have them set to Automatic in both IPv4 and IPv6 settings, which is how my PCs are setup at home and what my IT guy at work tells me should be OK.
Thanks in advance for any more advice!
BTW, I'm no big fan of Linkys either, but I've had zero problems with my Linksys products. Also, when I have had to contact Linksys for help with a setup, they have always eventually come through and solved the problem. I've tried contacting Nokia and can't even get a live person that can do anything (the E61 isn't supported by Nokia USA, and the UK phone number they gave me was just a recording). If anything, I'm ready to hurl my E61 through the window right now as I've spent way too many hours trying to get this thing to work.

  • I have all of my data from my old macbook pro in an external hard drive. Basically it's my old Macbook hard drive with external casing. It was working fine before when retrieving files using my new macbook air, now I can't access any files?

I can't access any of my files, photos, anything form my external hard drive... It worked before now when I plug it in the light comes on, but it doesn't even show up as an external drive, so I can't access anything, I'm worried I have lost everything...

Huge mistake was only having ONE copy of your data OFF computer,
most people do it, and its just horrible and the typical reason for serious data loss.
Likely you have a very common failure (extremely common actually) called SATA bridge card failure, which would be "good" news,
    read about same here:
Your dead external hard drive is likely fine! Great hope for your 'faulty' external HD
Never again let yourself have LESS than 2 copies of your important data off-computer,      ever
    1. verify the external HD doesnt show up on another Mac
if same, you have about a 8 in 10 chance its SATA card failure.......... easy to fix.
The great news at the end of the tunnel of an apparently failed or failing external hard drive.
When checked on another computer, and with no need for spending money on data extraction expertise or software, the very likely case is that your external USB or thunderbolt HD is in fact fine, and merely the card interface, or SATA bridge card has failed or is failing.  Keeping a HD dock around handy, or cheaper still a $20 hard drive enclosure or a SATA to USB connector can be a real life saver in getting your drive back to use, when the drive itself is fine, and merely its interface card has gone bad.
The SATA bridge card inside a USB external HD has a very high failure rate in general
Typical SATA bridge cards as seen inside a 3.5" external HD with power input (#1), and 2.5" SATA cards (#3, #4, #5)
What are the realistic odds your HD is perfectly fine?
There are no hard facts whatsoever, especially since so many people discard their assumed “dead/faulty” hard drives, but a good educated conclusion from years of examining and seeing this issue is that for hard drives made since 2010, and not dropped or generally abused, is that a minimum of 50% conservatively are perfectly fine! I personally estimate however that it likely approaches 60%+.
Considering how many external hard drives ‘fail’ (rather the SATA bridge more than half the time) each day, that is a very high number of perfectly fine HD that are tossed!
This is especially common with 3.5” desktop HD that are connected 24/7 with power and see a lot of data transfer. People wrongly conclude that “X” mfg. just made a defective drive, when in fact their 3.5” drives inside the plastic enclosure is 100% fine.  I have personally seen well over 200 of these dead SATA cards and additionally seen 3 fail within a one hour span of doing a large data copies.
One of the very reason pros use bare HD as inserted into HD docks is not just the saving of space and the need for endless USB cables, but the elimination of the need for this high failure-rate part.
While the shapes and sizes vary somewhat on SATA bridge cards, they all serve the same purpose and have likewise failure rates
What exactly is the SATA bridge card in your external HD?
In the middle to late of 2009, most all external hard drives both in 2.5” and 3.5” reached the shelves in SATA III. These small SATA cards or "bridges" are used to translate between the hard drives’ interfaces and the enclosures' external ports (USB, Thunderbolt, Firewire). Additionally these small bridges not only transfer power but also of course the data. Unfortunately these SATA bridge cards have a very high failure rate as they are burdened with shuffle power and data.
Literally these little unreliable and fragile cards are the power conduits and the nervous system for all external HD data transfer.
SATA card as found inside a typical USB external hard drive
The assumption that the hard drive is bad when its not!
Countless 1000s of good external hard drives are thrown away each year because the owner thought the HD was bad when it fact it was the SATA bridge card which had failed. This card is removed in a matter of mere second once an external USB HD is cracked open from its plastic casing to reveal the bare HD and the attached SATA card which attaches between the HD and the USB cable.
To complicate this problem, even many computer professionals do not know that there is a very easy solution to the “failing or dead HD” issue since the hard drive itself is very likely just fine.  Its astonishing that so many highly educated computer repair persons are unaware of this high-failure part, but this is mostly due to the fact that they do not juggle 100s of hard drives and know that of the iceberg that is a “external hard drive failure”, the mostly unseen majority are not a HD failure at all, but a bridge card failure.
To add to this great misunderstanding is the fact that people assume that "likewise symptoms seen on an external HD are the same as seen on an internal HD, therefore also the external HD must be bad". This is a compositional fallacy of logic. Since internal HD do not have a SATA bridge interface, to conclude similar symptoms "indicate the same failure" is misplaced and incorrect.
This is all not to say that HD do not fail, they do indeed, and I have seen many 100s of dead and failing hard drives.  Hard drives even under ideal conditions have a life expectancy of around 4-8 years due to ferromagnetic depolarization from entropy.  But of the mountain of symptoms that are seen as “hard drive failures” in comments, posts, and hearsay, half or more of these are not a HD failure at all.
Once your rescued hard drive is removed from the bad SATA card
You have several options, but the purchase of a $20 HD enclosure is one option, another is having a HD dock, however this eliminates the former portability in a 2.5" small HD.
Remember that 3.5” HD require power, which means you need either a HD dock, or a powered SATA card kit as seen at top left in the picture below. 2.5” HD get power from the USB port itself.
Just remember that the serious downside to the low cost external HD enclosures is THEY TOO contain these SATA cards, and what is worse the cheap ones will fail, often, much quicker than the original factory one did! In which case it is recommended you buy a quality HD USB enclosure

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I am getting the same error message - error 7, Windows error 193 running iTunes on a PC Laptop (HP) which has been running iTunes previously for at least 2 years.
I followed the Apple support page and uninstalled (in order) all Apple programmes specified, rebooted, then re-installed.  Two additional errors crop up in re-installation, the first one is to do with Apple Mobile Support Device Services.  It seems that this might be rectified by plugging in said devices before finishing the re-install.  The second reads iTunesHelper was not installed correctly please re-install iTunes.  This persists. I cannot uninstall iTunesHelper using the Control Panel, but I can delete it using Windows.  However, after re-installing again, it still won't run and the original error comes back.  I've downloaded and uninstalled 15 times now and this is taking far too long to be acceptable.

More possible bad news.  If you had followed what fane_j had asked you to do you might have found out it wasn't microsoft's fault for your problem and wouldn't have had to spend $150.  Because while you may have an Office that works, fane_j was not suggesting a solution but probing for a trojan (google "flashback trojan") that has been crashing powerpc code which is what Office 2004 is.
So if you do have the trojan, while you can run a version of Office, the trojan may still be in your system since installing a version of Office isn't going to remove it.  So I'll make another request.  Launch Terminal (in your Utilities folder) and copy/paste the following line into the terminal window and hit return:
    defaults read ~/.MacOSX/environment
If you see anything other than a "does not exist" error message you almost certainly do have the trojan and post the results in this thread.
The choice is yours.  You can ignore this and take the risk.  Or do what has been requested.

  • Can't Access any USB drive

I just installed Windows 10, and untill now all is working fine except for the fact that I can't access any USB Drive or PEN.
When I try I always get the following message:
this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer
How can I fix this BUG.

    Hi,
I don’t think it’s a bug, it could be driver or settings issues.
Please run rsop.msc to see if there is any related Group policy was configured to block USB device.
First I would like to confirm with you that expect USB drive, if other USB device can be recognized fine.
If not, I recommend you to update or reinstall the USB controller under Device manager.
If this issue only happened on USB drive, let’s try following suggestions:
Suggestion 1: Check hidden device drivers
    Unplug your USB storage device.
    Type CMD in Start Search.
    Right click cmd.exe and select
Run as administrator. Click Yes if the User Access Control box pops up.
At the Command Prompt window, type
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and press the Enter key.
Using the same Command Prompt window, type
devmgmt.msc to bring out the Device Manager.
At the Device Manager top menu, click
View and select Show hidden devices.
Browse down to the Universal Serial Bus controllers and click the
    + to expand the list.
Probably you will see some light grey devices, e.g. USB Mass Storage Device or USB Composite Device. Right click each and every light grey devices and select Uninstall. This will remove whatever "hardware profile" linked
    to your USB storage.
Attached your USB storage device and see if it works.
Suggestion 2: Check if the drive can be recognized under Disk management:
Right click the Start icon and choose Disk management.
If you can find your USB drive there but there’s no in File explorer, follow these steps.
Run cmd as admin, type following commands   to enable automount feature:
    Diskpart
    automount   enable
    Details   for this command:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753703.aspx
Then try   to assign letter for your USB drive again by using commands below:
Run cmd as   admin, type following commands:
    Diskpart
    list   volume
sel   volume x [x present the volume number of your USB drive]
    assign   letter=g:
Another thing is if you use USB3.0 to connect the drive, change it to USB 2.0 to see what's going on.

  • Can't access any bbc pages or iplayer on imac

All of a sudden i can't access any bbc websites or iplayer on my imac (os 10.6.8) although I can on my macbookpro and iphone both using the same BT wireless router. Other than the BBC I can access all other websites.
I've attempted the following to fixit - (all to no avail):
    1. cleared browser cache
    2. reset router
    3. reset both Firefox and Safari to default
    4. contacted BT tech help who advised me to contact either apple, the bbc or their own broadband tech experts (for £10 a month even though they were not sure they could help either)
    5. added open DNS server numbers ( i currently have the following 195.95.16.109  142.54.177.158    192.168.1.254    208.67.222.222   208.67.220.220)
    6. tried bbc.com
Any ideas or solutions much appreciated!

When posting in Apple Communties/Forums/Message Boards.......It would help us to know which iMac model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
