Are you talking about an iCloud backup? If so, no, an iCloud backup cannot be viewd, it can only be restored to another iOS device.

The following Knowledge Base article offers some step-by-step instruction for changing the email for your Apple ID:
Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
Sign out of iCloud, the iTunes Store, App Store, FaceTime, Find My Friends, Find My iPhone, and iMessage on each device that uses your current Apple ID for these services.
Go to My Apple ID.
Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in. Forgot your password?
Select Edit next to Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID, then select Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that address.
Open the email from Apple, then click Verify Now. Didn't receive the email?
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your new Apple ID email address and password. When you see a message that verification is complete, you can start using your updated Apple ID.
Remember to update the features and services that you use with Apple ID.

What do you mean by "renamed" the account?
Have you went to Settings>iCloud and deleted the account from the iPod and then signed back in with the "renamed" account?

If your company are ok with you accessing your email, you can either access it via webmail at http://www.icloud.com through a browser, or ask your companies IT department to open up access to only the iCloud IMAP and SMTP email servers.

Document storage, calendars, bookmarks, photostream and everything else iCloud provides are all done through different servers so can be blocked seperately to the email servers.

To use iCloud Drive and to work with documents, you will need the corresponding Pages, Keynote and Numbers iOS apps or third party iOS apps that support iCloud Drive to interact with those documents. You can set up a secondary account in icloud where you can sync some of the services like contacts and events. Google "icloud secondary account" for details.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

I was able to share my calendar with my husband so that all my events appear on his calendar that he accesses on his ipad. I can't figure out how to do the same in reverse. I want to share his calendar with me so that all of his events appear on my calendar.

Can't access pictures on iCloud

This message keeps popping up in my screen every now and then, saying: 'Photo Stream. Photos for the iCloud account "..." cannot be accessed. Review your account information in System Preferences.'
I've checked it already and everything seems to be fine. Actually, Photo Stream has worked for me up until yesterday, when I tried to share some pictures via Photo Stream. May this be the problem? Now I can't even access it through iPhoto.
How can I fix this?

iCloud does'nt store ALL of your photos, only 1000 max and it only has those that have been taken by a mobile device that's signed into your iCloud account and has Photo Stream activated or the those in your library if you have Photo Stream activated and set to automatically upload all new photos imported into your library (3rd checkbox).
However, there is a 1000 photo limit and they will be purged every 30 days.
I suggest you go into iPhoto's Accounts section and delete your iCloud account and log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane. Then log back in and go back to iPhoto and add the iCloud account back.
