Can't access iCloud mail or contacts from PC

I can't access my iCloud emails or contacts from my home PC (Windows 7). iCloud.com either returns an error message or else fails to respond at all.
All other sites I try are behaving normally, so it would appear to be an iCloud problem rather than anything at my end.
Here is the error message I get from iCloud:
"Mail could not be loaded
"There was a problem loading the application due to a possible network error or missing resources. Please try again.
"Details
"By clicking 'send to Apple' you agree that Apple will collect and use this information..."
I have tried this many times. I either get this error message, or else nothing at all happens. All other web sites work fine. I have no other problems with my PC in any application, so this is almost certainly a problem with iCloud. Until it is solved, iCloud is nearly useless to me, as I can only use it from one device, my iPad. On my PC, I reach iCloud by clicking on the link within the iCloud application.
I would greatly appreciate some help in dealing with this problem in accessing iCloud from my PC. (No Mac-based solutions, please: I don't have one.)

Today this worked for the first time on my PC, at last. Had just updated iCloud software to version 2.1.2 - could this have affected the operation of the web site on my computer? Seems odd. Anyway, nice that it finally works. Suggest others who have the same problem try this.

  • I can't access Icloud mail or anything from my pc. Just keeps trying to sign in.

I cannot sign in to icoud on my pc.  I am running windows 7 and when I go to my browser to icloud.com the page comes up but keeps spinning and never lets the sign in window come up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with restarting my computer. I am signed in on the control panel.  Is anyone experiencing issues with icloud page.  I can successfully sign in on every other computer in the house including an identical computer to mine.  Any suggestions?

        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Can't access iCloud mail

Hi. I setup iCloud on my new iPad (3). I'm the only one using it. I created an iCloud email @me.com. However, I don't know how I can check that me.com email. When I go to iCloud.com, it only says Set Up iCloud on this device. I have done that. How can I log in? It's not as if I'm using another's iPad.. Pls help. Thanks! : )

To check your emails use the "Mail" app on your iPad, new messages will be pushed automatically.
Note: You can only access your mail at iCloud.com using a computer.

  • Can you access and edit shared contacts from directory from home?

We are interested in setting up the directory for shared contact for our sales people. Once we set this service up, is there anyway that they can access it and update it from a location outside of the company like home? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Sounds like you've paid twice. Ouch.
Log in at the Apple Store (using the ID you've used for the purchase) and review your "Software Download History".
This is where you can download any update.
Be sure to use the correct installer for your OS (there are two installers in the Package).
It should be installed into HD/System/Library/QuickTime folder and be version number 6.4.1
The installer does have two different versions and maybe you've picked the wrong one?

  • Can't access iCloud mails from any location

    Hello,
for a couple of days I am not able to access my iCloud ( @me.com ) mails from any location. I've already tried it on Apple Mail, iCloud.com via Mac and PC and Mail.app on iPad 5.0.1. Here are two screenshots:
    I appreciate any help.
    Thanks

This should read 'iCloud', not 'MobileMe' - it looks as if your Mail application is still trying to access the MobileMe server after you've migrated. However if you have migrated it should be available at icloud.com.
What operating system are you using on your Mac? did you migrate your MobileMe account at http://me.com/move ? You could check the Mail server settings and see if they conform with these:

Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
You can purchase Snow Leopard by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
      1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
      2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
      3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
      4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
      5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
      6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
      7. Xserve (Early 2009)
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

No. You can set up as a new device or restore from iCloud or iTunes. It looks like you backed up with iTunes, so you can't restore with iCloud. To backup your device in iCloud, go to Settings > iCloud and activate it

What a crappy design. This is where Android is so much better. It seems to me like you have no control over your iPhone. It does whatever Apple has designed it to do without asking you first. On Android you can actually go in see all folders, document files, photo files etc and you have so much more control of everything. Apple s..cks!

  • Suddenly can not access .mac mail from Apple Mail

Suddenly, I can not access .mac mail from Apple Mail (Version 2.1.1 (752.3)).
For quite a few years I have been using Apple Mail to access my .mac email. As of last Friday, Mail stopped working. Nothing has changed (accept for the installation of the latest OS X security upgrade - SecUpd2006-008Univ.pkg).
I can still access my .mac mail through the .mac web browser and I can still access it through SnapperMail on my Palm Treo 680. But, when I open Apple Mail on my MacBook, it does not do anything, just sits there. When I open the Activity Viewer window, 3 activities are going on:
    1. Opening Mailbox
    2. Synchronizing with Server (Connecting to...)
    3. Synchronizing with Server (Synchronizing with...)
After a few minutes, the error triangle appears next to the Inbox and .Mac logos on the left hand panel.
I have tried Apple Mail from several locations (different ISP / WiFi / LAN) over several days but get the same problem.
Does anyone have ideas for a solution?
    Regards
    Peter

Let’s first make sure that the update is installed properly, and post back with your observations when done.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the update that appears to not have been installed properly. You may also need to reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.
