Can't access iPhone on iTunes because it is disabled
My phone has been disabled for an hour and iTunes is saying that they are unable to import data from the phone because it is locked...
Is this because it is disabled or locked? Do I have to reset my phone or just wait until it isn't disabled?

If you have never synced the phone with your computer you will have to enter the correct passcode to import data from it. Otherwise the only option is to restore the phone and set up as new using Recovery Mode: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." Updates were only offered by Apple when I'd open iTunes. Now I can't open iTunes. How can I access the newest iTunes as an update, not a new program?
this just started w/ me yesterday. I was running 10.5.3, and nothing changed - the message just appeard out of nowhere. I update to the latest iTunes 10.6 but the message is the same.
Sounds like probably some sort of Library file corruption.
The two options available in the message box are "Download" and "Quit". Download is useless because I'm already running the latest. Quit is pretty useless.
I was going to just create a new Library and re-import all my music. Of course, all my iPhone sync settings are going go have to be recreated. -

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts. All the instructions on synching start with "find your device in the device window". But what if you have no device window?
Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same. -
I just updated my Iphone 4 to the IOS 6 update and now i cant connect my iphone to Itunes because apparently my itunes is out of date? and then when i try and update itunes it says i need a new OS completely is there anything i can do???
Are you running Leopard on your Mac, Laurie?
If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)

can i access apps from itunes on my pc?
I want to download my apps to my pc so I can clear some space on my iphone 4.
Then I can use the space for other things e.g music.
However at a later date I would like to access these apps and the data they have stored using my PC
Is this possible?
Or is this just another Mac problem?Most apps will store their data locally on the device. This can be restored from a backup when restoring the device, but if you remove the app any data associated with it is removed, and then subsequently purged from the device's rolling backup set on the next backup. If the app supports iTunes File Sharing you may be able to export its data to your computer, then reimport at a later date when you add the app back to your device.

You will need a Backup Extractor program; there are many available. I use iScavenge for Mac, but there are many more. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=iphone+backup+extractor The one at the top of the search claims to be free, but it is not. Don't be fooled. I can't recommend for or against any of them, except iScavenge, which is OK.
If you are technically inclined the backup is a SQLite database, so a SQLite browser can also open the backup. -
my iPad is frozen.. it won't shut off.. i can't do a forced restart by holding the sleep/wake and home button.... it doesn't respond to that either.. i can't connect it to iTunes because it needs passcode entered but again the iPad is frozen so i can't input the passcode… I also can't do recovery mode as the ipad won't shut down for me to do a recovery mode.... You don't need an AppleID to access an iTunes library. An iTunes library is stored on your computer.
Default location is /Music/iTunes/ folder. -

Yesterday, Software Updater has installed something which required me to "close iTunes in order to complete the installation" - I can only assume it was an iTunes (or related) update?
Now when I try to open iTunes, a window appears, stating: "you can't open the application iTunes because it is not supported on this type of Mac".

I'm conscientious about keeping my software & apps up to date, so it should only be something very recent & I assume fairly minor...

Over the past couple of days I have left my Macbook sitting idle for extended periods, put it to sleep, & also shut it down.
This morning I tried to reinstall the same download that didn't work a couple of days ago & it has been recognised, installed & seems to run just fine - playing right now I'm happy to say!
I suggest you try doing the same: ie. leave your machine sitting idle till it sleeps & shut it down, before you try the reinstall. -
I am trying to open up my iTunes from my iMac. It says "You can't open the application iTunes because it is not supported on this type of Mac." What do I do? I've already force closed all other apps.
Well, obviously the problem isn't with the other apps, it's with the type of Mac you have. What type of Mac do you have?
