Can't access itunes store.. have tried everything I know... Help Please

Like others, I have the problem that itunes works but when I try to access the itunes store the status bar will stop half way through the process.  After another 5 seconds or so it just completes with a blank screen.
Windows 7 Ultra 64 bit (fully updated)
Itunes 10.5
Internet Explorer
The itunes connectivity tests pass.. which I assume mean ports, DNS, adapters, firewalls are all ok.  Valid assumption?
I can acces secure websites from the browser.
I've completely uninstalled and then reinstalled all of the apple applications as per apple instructions.
I've "fixed" the host file as per Microsoft instructions.
I've run Itunes as an administrator.
I've now reached the limit of my understanding of what can be done.  Suggestions?

Does your computer have one of those LSPs? If it does, try following the steps to reset the Winsock key.
1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.
2. Enter the following command: 
netsh winsock reset
3. Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note:  If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP.

    when i open itunes i am infinetly stuck at "accessing itunes store" during which it will not allow me to authorize my computer, sign in, etc. . So far i have tried restarting my computer, cmd command, re-install, unistall qucik time player/safari, reset router. i am not sure what else there is to do for this problem. none of the other threads have helped me at all. what else is there to do to fix this?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

    Two ways:
    - Restore the iPad from the backup of the iPhone. Make sure all the apps are in the iTunes library.

    You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    If you are trying to sync via iCloud, make sure your MacBook is running OSX Lion 10.7.7, and that you have set up your iPhone as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ and you MacBook as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.htm (including turning On Contacts and Calendars as shown in step 3).  If you're syncing via iCloud don't check to sync in iTunes too (on the Info tab in iTunes) or you may end up with duplicate data.

    Same issue.  I emailed apple and they had me call apple.  Not really any help.  Did all the troubleshooting listed and to have further help diagnosing problems it isn't free.  I explained to the rep that I have seen others having same issues - he didn't know anything about.  This is first time I have had problems.  I can't even purchase song on my PC but can on my iphone.  I just would like to be able to access my account.  Afraid to sign out of itunes in case I can't even get to my library etc.

    If you look at the feed, and look at the entry 'The end to an exciting field season in Aulavik National Park' you will see the line:
    <pubDateFri, 29 Jul 2011 04:00:00 GMT</pubDate>
    You have not closed the 'pubdate' tag - there should be a '>' as the 9th character. Because the tag has been left open, it invalidates everything which follows it, and thus the entire feed. iTunes therefore cannot read it, which is why the Store has not updated. Add the '>' and republish, and all should be well.
    It's always worth checking your feed by subscribing manually, from the 'Advanced' menu, or by clicking the 'subscribe free' button on the Store page (both do the same thing) - if you can subscribe to the feed it should be OK.

    Since downloading itunes 10.5 update I can not access itunes store on my pc and could before. The status bar stalls halfway. I uninstalled itunes and re-installed it and that didn't help. I use Google Chrome as mysearch engine instead of IE. I even tried avarything using IE and get same results. I even tried the trick of adding to the end of the link for the proxy settings and this didn't work. out of ideas......HELP!

    i been trying to purchase music and get into my itunes account but error -1202 won't allow me to get into my account or purchase music.
