Can't Access iTunes Store with iTunes 8; Can't Download iTunes 10 with OS X 10.4 Operating System
I can't access the iTunes Store to browse and purchase music, etc. I have an OS X 10.4.11 operating system and iTunes 8.0.2 on my computer. While I can download iTunes 10.3, I can't install it on my computer. I would prefer using my computer with its current software to access the iTunes Store. Is there a way that I can access the iTunes Store to purchase music, etc.?
Thanks!
While I don't know for sure, my guess is there is a version of iTunes that you computer CAN use and will work with iTunes.
you may try to manually download the latest version of iTunes 8, or an early version of iTunes 9. Should be on Apple's site somewhere.

Had been using the Itunes Store just fine. I am running MacOSX 10.4.11 and Itunes 7. Now there is an ad that says to download to Itunes 10. I cannot download Itunes 10 with my operating system. It won't let me open the Itunes Store, though.
Sadly, iTunes now requires at least...
Macintosh hardware
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5 or G4 processor
Intel, PowerPC G5 or 1.0 GHz PowerPC G4 or faster processor is required to play Standard Definition video from the iTunes Store
2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras from the iTunes Store
512MB of RAM; 1GB is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras
Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater; 1280x800 or greater is required to play an iTunes LP or iTunes Extras
Playing videos also requires at least 16MB of video RAM
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
Apple combo drive or SuperDrive to create audio, MP3, or back-up CDs; some non-Apple CD-RW recorders may also work.
Apple SuperDrive to back up your library to DVDs; some non-Apple DVD-RW drives may also work.
Macintosh software
Mac OS X version 10.5 or later
QuickTime 7.6 or later
Support for HE-AAC requires QuickTime 7.6.4 and Mac OS X version 10.5 or later
Safari 4.0.3 or later
200MB of available disk space
Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
* 512MB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.
There are workarounds if the 867MHz is the only hangup...

If you have an Intel Mac, 10.6 is cheaper/easier to get.

Can only access App store from home, but can get on internet anywhere
I have a wifi-only iPad. I have no trouble accessing the internet anywhere that there is wifi available. However, I can never access the app store, and can never update such apps as USA Today, the New York Times, and the Kindle App unless I am in my house. How can I fix this?
The reason for that can be a bad WiFi connection, so the answer from the server is not coming quick enough (check the signal bars on your iPad) or the other reason could be that at this router certain ports are blocked.
Maybe go to a public WiFi with a good signal (usually a restaurant or coffee-shop)

I have windows 8.1 and cannot access itunes store even creating a new apple id. With other users on the same computer I can access itunes store. How can I solve this?
i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1. I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard. This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter. When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes. Now it's running flawlessly. I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

My iPad 2 wifi iTunes can't access to stores even I log into wifi network
Hi I got a iPad 2 wifi lately. However I realise that the iTunes can't access to store despite I have logged on and off and ensure restriction is turned off. I even re-register my apple ID and restore the system. Any suggestion?
Does the App Store or other apps that use the internet work ok e.g. Safari ? Depending on what country you are in you may not see much in the store as not all content types are available in all countries.
Have you tried closing the iTunes app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with iTunes 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes but you may run into issues if you want them both to run iTunes Match or automatic downloads. -
The toolbar says "Accessing iTunes Store..." and then nothing happens, with a "iTunes Store" blank page below.
Any ideas?Hey Eugene Carr,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iTunes Store page is blank. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

I am trying to authorise a new computer. Apple's instructions are to select "Authorise this computer" from the itunes store menu. I can't find this in any menu. Can you please help? How do I authorise my computer?
Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us. -
I want to buy the movie Crazy Stupid Love but it is not available in the US, only in the UK. I live in the US but is it possible to switch the itunes store so that I can buy that movie?
It used to be in the US iTunes Store as that's where I purchased it. Often the studios will temporarily pull a movie from the store during times the movie is scheduled to be shown on TV or cable TV as the TV network has been granted exclusive access during the period. It will return to the store later.

I am unable to transfer song bought from the itunes store to my ipod- can anyone please assist?
What happens when you try?
If the song is an older purchase (from more than a few years ago), it may have DRM (copy protection). You can check by selecting the song on a list in iTunes, and doing a Get Info (right click - Get Into). On the Info window Summary tab, if Kind is Protected AAC audio file, it has DRM. Also note what it says there for Apple ID. You need to authorize the computer you use with the iPod to play content purchased with that Apple ID.
From the iTunes menu bar, under Store, select Authorize This Computer. Enter the Apple ID (and password) used to purchase the song. One computer can be authorize for multiple Apple IDs.
NOTE: More recent iTunes Store song purchases do not use DRM, although other type of media (such as TV shows and movies) still do.
If that's not the cause of your problem, please post back with more details... -

Where is Power Search on the Itunes Store site? I can no longer find it.
Where is Power Search on the Itunes Store site? I can no longer find it.
Sharing an app does not give a copy of the app to anybody else, you will only be sharing an image of the app.
It's possible that the developers of those apps have temporarily (e.g. if there is a problem with them or they are putting an updated version in the store) or permanently removed them from the store. Any links that the developer's have on their website should take you to the store, that is the only place that you can download apps for iOS devices.
You could try contacting the developers and see if they are planning on putting their apps back in the store, until if/when they do then your friends won't be able to download them (and you won't be able to redownload them, so if you haven't already done so you may want to copy the app to your computer's iTunes library).
