Can't access music in nano- loaded into 'other'

Hi, I got a 5th gen nano, when I plugged it in it said it was synching and all my songs show up under the nano tab in itunes but no songs showed on the nano. The songs were all in grey so I changed it to the manual load songs setting as suggested in other posts however this didn't help.
I have also noticed though that when looking at the folder sizes on my ipod the 4 gigs has been loaded into my 'other' folder, not into the songs folder, which I can't access.

If you click on the iPod's Device name in the left hand pane of iTunes, it should bring you to a new screen that shows a picture of your iPod.
Similar to this:

As you can see, the iPod's name is highlighted in the left hand pane under Devices of this picture. By clicking on its device name, you should receive a screen very similar to this.

Can I access music from multiple accounts on one cpu

    Here's one option: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12366
But frankly you'd be better off creating unique user accounts on the computer and having seperate iTunes libraries for each user as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495

    Old iTunes account?
You created a new iTunes account instead of updating the old account with new info?'

You can't. There are a couple of devices such as AirStash and the GoFlex drive that you can access over WiFi. They are limited, as I understand it, though.

Many of the tunes have exclamation marks by them and iTunes says they "cannot be found". If I do a search throughout my computer I find the songs. But it is very inconvenient.

How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer?  Old computer is gone.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

Can you access an external HD plugged into the Airport Extreme from a remote location over the internet?

The first question answer is yes..
The question is asked continually.. please read the methods that Tesserax wrote up so well.
    See remote access tip here.

Also can the content on the exteral HD plugged into the airport be accessed by the TV to stream content?
Unlikely .. because your TV uses a system called DLNA.. and Apple do not support DLNA in any way shape or form.. because they are fully committed to iTunes.. Apple routers have no media extensions.. unlike most other decent brands now which mostly do support multimedia.
Having said that.. you can place your video files on the external hard disk.. and play them.. but you need a player.. a real player not an apple TV which is a streamer.. eg A WD Live TV can play video files.. because it is a media player.. unlike your TV or apple TV.

How can I delete music from my iPad Air other than one song at a time? I would like to delete a few albums.  I am still on iOS 7.

You can either sync the iPhone and iPad to a computer that has your music on it and make sure the U2 album is not on the computer. Or you can delete all of the music from both devices (settings > general > usage > manage storage > music. Then redownload your music from your purchase history on the iTunes store
Also the U2 album is attached to your apple id. To remove it, you will need to go here ---> https://itunes.com/soi-remove

If this is music purchased through the iTunes Music Store, you would need to transfer the music to your computer using iTunes then transfer to the non-apple device according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  • With new Photos app, I can no longer drag and drop photos into other applications as I did in the past with iPhoto.

With the new Photos app, I can no longer drag and drop photos into other applications as I did with iPhoto.  For instance, I have a photo collage app that in the past, I could just drag in the photos I wanted to include.  Now, I can DRAG the photos, but they do not DROP.  So, I have to go through the export process.  It is tedious.  What am I missing?  Where can I turn on the drag and drop feature for Photos?

YOu're not looking in the right palce. That's inside the iPhoto Application.
You need to look inside the iPhoto Library
    As I sid above:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there

  • What is going on?  I can't access my iPhoto files from any other programs.  It just says "Open iPhoto to see photos from your iPhoto Library in this list", but that doesn't work.  What changed?

All of a sudden I can't access my iPhoto files from any other programs (ie Photoshop, facebook etc.).  It just gives me this message below.  What the **** changed?  This wasn't happening yesterday.

    1 - close iPhoto.
2 - go to your Pictures folder and open the iPhoto Library package as shown below:
3 - locate a file named AlbumData.xml and move it to the Desktop.
    4 - launch iPhoto.
5 - relaunch the other programs and try the media browser again.

How can I access my favorites by browser at other locations?

    Hi!
In order to use the advantages of Firefox Sync you need to configure it in every device that you intent to use it. If you want to have access to your bookmarks without synching them you can use some of the add-ons that you can find in the [http://addons.mozilla.org http://addons.mozilla.org] site.
In any case, if the devices are yours, I would encourage you to take a couple of minutes and set up Firefox Sync in all of them. That way you would be able to sync not only your favorite bookmarks but also your tabs, browsing history, passwords, etc in a really secure and private way.

  • Can't Access Music On iPhone

I opened up iTunes the other day and my library was gone. I tried to manual show iTunes where my music was and it still would not load into a library. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled. Still no library, but when I manually showed it my Music folder, it loaded the music into my iTunes library. When I click on the "Music" and other choices under my iPhone tab, it will show me the music and such on my iPhone, but they are all grayed out. I cannot do anything with the music or videos, nor can I load any new music or videos onto my iPhone. Please, help!!!

In order to manually manage music and videos with your iPhone, you must select manually manage music and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences.
This provides for manually transferring music and videos from your iTunes library to your iPhone instead of syncing, and manually deleting music and videos from your iPhone instead of removing music and videos from your iPhone via the sync process.
Where is your iTunes library stored/located? Have you moved your iTunes library from the default location on your computer?

  • Can't access music on my iPod

Alright, so I have a 20 GB, 4th generation iPod on which I've put about 1,000 songs so far. For the past year, my iPod has been having issues (freezing, making the clicking noise with the sad iPod icon...) but I recently got it working again ...so I thought.
When I try to play the music on my iPod, none of it shows up. It doesn't matter if I try to access the music by Song, Artist, Genre, Album, Playlist... it's blank.
When I plug my iPod into my computer and open it with itunes, the same thing happens... none of my music shows up.
However, it still says I've used [x] number of GB, and when I open my iPod on the computer just as a hard drive, I can see the music files there.
I've tried uploading a few new songs onto my iPod and those ones do show up, but all the music I've added previously doesn't show up, though it appears to still be on the iPod.
Does anyone know what's up with this, or have any solutions to the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    - C.
      Windows XP

it could be caused by bad sectors on the HD of your iPod or the corrupted music/OS files.
Have you tried to do a format (not quick format) for your iPod and then a Restore?
