Can't access music, movies, playlists

I installed Tuneup (now uninstalled as it was the only thing I've changed). Now I have no music, movies displayed even if I click and can't click on any playlists. There are no numbers so it looks empty. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. I can play songs in itunes if I click on them in their folder. While they are playing I can see individual songs in the playlist, but if I click on one of the things still working, they disappear and I can't click on the playlist again. I can't add individual files or folders to itunes, even the ones that should already be there. I don't want to try to sync anything in case I lose access to all my music and playlists. TV, podcasts, radio, store & apps all seem ok.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • Feature request- access to movie playlists

iTunes allows users to create playlists of movies - just as it does playlists of songs. However, the Apple TV only displays movies in a scrollable alphabetical list. When attempting to access a playlist of movies via streaming, the Apple TV gives an alert that there is no music in the playlist.
There is no reason to have this limitation on the Apple TV, and while many users may not care while movie collections are relatively small, the ultimate point of this device, and of the newest itenerationof iTunes, is to manage all your content just as easily and flexibly as you manage your music.
Please consider allowing access to movie playlists in a future software update to the Apple TV.

it would be indeed fantastic if we had access to pathfinders

Can I access music from multiple accounts on one cpu

    Here's one option: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12366
But frankly you'd be better off creating unique user accounts on the computer and having seperate iTunes libraries for each user as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495

  • Can I access English movies and TV, living in Germany using the Apple TV

Can I access English movies and TV, living in Germany using the Apple TV or maybe something else?
I live since short in Germany and would like to have access to English TV and English movies using my internet connection. Looking at for example the Apple Store your store connection is based on your IP {address and this lands me in the German store where movies are not available in original language (or so it seems, if you do not know this the Germans change the soundtracks of all foreign movies to German by dubbing).
Does anybody know how I would be able to watch either UK or USA TV over the internet (preferable on my TV)?
I say thank you and yes in case you did not guess, I am new to the topic of TV over internet.

    thanks Jolly Giant
however, there are somewhat limited options such as [_*Kabel Digital*_|http://www.kabeldeutschland.de/fernsehen/kabel-digital-international/englisch.ht ml].
I looked in to that and they are non of the channels I want to see. Most of it is stuff you catch free to air.
additionally, many movies, tv shows and sport broadcasts on [_*Sky Deutschland*_|http://www.sky.de/web/cms/de/abonnieren-senderinfos.jsp] come in [Zweikanalton|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zweikanalton].
I talked to the Sky folk in Germany a while ago, and sorry to say they are as knowledgeable as the Sky UK people. In other words nobody could guarantee me anything or commit to it beingavailable in English. The most committed answer I got was that it depends on many things and one would have to look at each broadcast to see if it is also available in English.
    Hence my search continues.

  • How can I access music that is now unavailable with iTunes 11?

How can I access music that is now unavailable with iTunes 11?

Many of the tunes have exclamation marks by them and iTunes says they "cannot be found". If I do a search throughout my computer I find the songs. But it is very inconvenient.

  • TS2972 I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?

I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?
I have a mac and wireless internet.

Because you've got music and movies streaming to your Apple TV, I know you've authorized Home Sharing under the file menu of iTunes.  But under that same iTunes file menu you must also go to the "Home Sharing" pull-down and select "Choose Photos to Share With Apple TV". You can select All photos, or just specific albums. Maybe worth saying again that this is done from iTunes and not iPhoto.
If you've already done this and still no photos on AppleTV, check to see that your photo file names (previously imported into iPhoto) have valid suffixes (such as photo.jpg).  Without that valid suffix, iPhoto on your Mac will show the photo just fine (courtesy of the hidden Type Code embedded in the photo file), but AppleTV will not.
Good luck and let me know if either of these worked.

  • How can I access my movies from my iTunes account using my iPad.

I thought that when you accessed iTunes from your iPad, using iOS5 you could access all of your iTunes like you did on your PC.  However I can get my music but not movies.  Please can someone help me.  I am new to the apple game.
    Thank you

Not sure if there is a way to "un-sync" per-say... But you can factory reset your device, and then set it up with your new MB Air.
DOING A FACTORY RESET WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE!!! So make sure you have it backed up to your old computer first!
But before you do this, when you plug your Phone into your computer, I think iTunes should give you a choice to sync with your new computer. If this "dialog box" or "choice" doesn't pop up when you plug your Phone in, THEN do the factory reset.

  • How to access music and playlists on the same computer, for both Microsoft accounts?

    Hello all,
My husband and I recently got a new computer and are running Windows 8.1. We were able to successfully use an external hard drive to transfer all of the music and playlists over so that I can access them on my user account (I am the "main" user). All of my playlists are present exactly as they were previously. This is the location of the iTunes media folder on our hard drive: C:\Users\Brittany\Music\iTunes
However, when my husband logs on as a user separately, the iTunes program is there, but we are only able to get him very limited access to some music. We can't get him access to any of the playlists, which is where the bulk of the music is.
We've tried everything. We've double-checked that he's an Administrator. We've made sure that all the folders are shared between us. We can both read and write to this folder location. We've gone into the preferences in iTunes itself and told it where we want it to find the iTunes Media folder. We also tried moving the iTunes media folder into the public shared music folder, and that didn't do a darn thing either. Nothing works.
I feel like we are missing some critical step somewhere. Or maybe we screwed something up somehow. I don't know. All I know is that it seems crazy if we're not going to be able to access the exact same version of iTunes complete with playlists. What gives?
    Please help! Thank you!

We've gone into the preferences in iTunes itself and told it where we want it to find the iTunes Media folder.
This step is wrong. Make sure the iTunes folder in your profile is visible from his login, then press and hold down shift as you launch iTunes and browse to the iTunes Library.itl file in your library. It may be easier to store the library at C:\iTunes and have both accounts access it there.
See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for advice on how to keep the backup copy of your library on the external drive up to date.

  • Can't access music on my iPod

Alright, so I have a 20 GB, 4th generation iPod on which I've put about 1,000 songs so far. For the past year, my iPod has been having issues (freezing, making the clicking noise with the sad iPod icon...) but I recently got it working again ...so I thought.
When I try to play the music on my iPod, none of it shows up. It doesn't matter if I try to access the music by Song, Artist, Genre, Album, Playlist... it's blank.
When I plug my iPod into my computer and open it with itunes, the same thing happens... none of my music shows up.
However, it still says I've used [x] number of GB, and when I open my iPod on the computer just as a hard drive, I can see the music files there.
I've tried uploading a few new songs onto my iPod and those ones do show up, but all the music I've added previously doesn't show up, though it appears to still be on the iPod.
Does anyone know what's up with this, or have any solutions to the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    - C.
      Windows XP

it could be caused by bad sectors on the HD of your iPod or the corrupted music/OS files.
Have you tried to do a format (not quick format) for your iPod and then a Restore?

  • Can't access music on my Ipod Classic -  Sad.

    Hi all
My beloved Ipod Classic is having all sorts of issues.
It's 160GB.   According to the hard drive space, the media is still there.
But I can't access any songs, videos or pics on my Ipod or my Mac.
    Everything's updated.
    Please help, Mac Friends.
    Obliged,
    EC

It should be possible to sort this out and your Playlists should be in tyour iTunes Library.
Try the suggestions I made previously - first of all, another Sync. If further Syncing doesn't remove the Other and re-install your media correctly, then you will have no option but to use a Restore.
As I said above, if you have been using Sync to manage your iPod, then all Playlists should be in your iTunes Library. Playlists created on an iPod Classic are transferred to the Library at Sync time, but they may be renamed. If you saved a Playlist on the iPod, it should be named then as "New Playlist x" (where x is the next unsed number in the sequence) and appear in iTunes by that name.
If you leave a Playlist on the iPod as an unsaved On-The-Go Playlist, it is renamed as "On-The-Go x" (again, the x is the next unused number in the sequence). Be aware though of two things; this is how it works with my iPod (firmware version 1.1.2 PC) and it may differ slightly in an iPod with a different firmware version, such as the later Classics and secondly, the order of the On-the-Go lists is alphabetical, not numerical. So you get this:
where 10, 12 etc. appear before 2. So in other words, you may have to look out of sequence to find your Playlists.
(Don't get too hung up about the firmware version on a Classic. It's really not important in this situation.)
If you haven't been using Sync to manage your iPod up to now, then a Restore will be the time to start doing so and with 100GB of music, it's the best way to manage the iPod. If you are in this postion, we can explain how to do this - it really is easy and by far the best way to go. Just ignore anyone who tells you otherwise!

  • I can't access my new playlist on my iPhone 4s when using iTunes Match

I recently spent 5 hours combing through my entire digital music collection to compile a playlist of all the songs I want to hear right now.  It is 696 songs and 1.7 days long.  Both my iTunes on my computer and my iPhone 4s have the latest version of the available software.  I cannot see or listen to my new playlist on my iPhone.  I have done the following (with no success):
    1) I have updated iTunes Match.
    2) I have powered off and powered on my iPhone
    3) I have disable and re-enabled Match on my iPhone.
    4) I have disable Match on my iPhone, connected my iPhone to my computer via a USB cord, transfered my playlist that way, then re-enabled Match on my iPhone.  Still, I do not have access to my playlist.  While this did have the desired the affect of putting the playlist on my iPhone, I then could not download the songs that were in the playlist onto my iPhone without Match or performing the laborous task of transfering each song individually via the USB cord.  Not to mention the fact that I play for Match and expect it to work.
    5) I have disabled Match on my iPhone, powered off and powered on my iPhone.  Then, I re-enabled Match on my iPhone.
None of these actions have resulted in the desired occurance.  I have read through the community and when I find someone who said they have fixed the problem, the person either has a minimal grasp of the English language and I do not understand that person or I have already completed the action that the person recommends.
I feel as though, since I pay for this service, that iTunes, i.e. Apple, should address my problem directly, rather than rely on the support of a community of people who are up the same creek, lacking a tool for forward momentum.
I somewhat feel as though I, and all others in a like-situation, should receive a refund for Match or, at the very least, some sort of compensation for time during which it has caused problems.
Additionally, I refuse to ever purchase an apple product again.  They are not the company of quality that they used to be and we are all now just paying top dollar for an subpar product.

Additionally, when trouble shooting, and you disable iTunes Match on an iOS device you cannot simply re-enable it immediately. You must launch the Music app and let the content clear out before re-enabling the service.
