Can't access my MHNDHD network drive

I havent used this network drive in a while, however since I'm off for the holiday break I wanted to backup a couple computers.
When I went to reconnect teh ethernet cable adn recycle power to it the power light came on, then the status light went blue and then both lights went out.
I unp-lugged it adn tried it again, nothing
so I did it a third time and hit the reset button and got the same response.
Is it DEAD?

Hello LancerTX
This usually means there is an issue with the firmware, the unit has failed, or possibly a wrong or faulty power adapter is being used. I recommend checking the power adapter as it would be the easiest to work on.  if it is the firmware or a controller issue, the best option would be to look into repurposing the internal drive if it tests ok using something like SeaTools

  • I can't access my USB network drive connected to my router.

I have a G5 that I was running Tiger, and could easily access a usb network drive connected to my router. As soon as I upgraded to Leopard, I sporadically get access, but usually not.
I just purchased an iMac with Snow Leopard and then upgraded to Lion, but I have never had access to this drive.
I can't get access with either Mac now, but I have no problem accessing the drive from a PC on the same home network, so I know the drive is connected properly, and is working properly.
Any thoughts how to access this drive from my Macs?

Let's say that the name of your drive is Hard Drive
Check using AirPort Utility to get the IP address of your AirPort Extreme, for example you see that it is 10.0.1.1
You'll need to know the device name for the AirPort Extreme. This is not the wireless password, it's the device password.
On the PC, open My Computer
Click on Tools and select Map Network Drive.
Select the drive you want, "Z" for example
On the next line for Folder, type in
    \\10.0.1.1\Hard Drive
    Click Finish
    Type in your user name
Type in the device password for the AirPort Extreme

  • Windows explorer keeps computing items after accessing a mapped network drive

Our organization has decided to upgrade to windows 7 but we are running into a problem with windows explorer green progress bar hanging after accessing a mapped network drive. When you try to go back to computer or access the control panel after going
3 or more folders deep into the mapped drive, windows explorer just keeps searching.
When you expand the arrow in the address bar it states that it is computing items and never stops.
The only way around this is to right click on libraries and select reset back to defaults and everything is back to normal.
We are deploying this image of windows 7 to over a 1000 computers and we cannot have this problem lingering, does anyone have a solution to resolve this issue. This does not happen in Windows XP.
We have tried to turn off windows search and remote differential compression and this does work but the problem is that you lose all search capabilities in windows. So windows search needs to be enabled. We also tried to adjust the MTU, change GP settings,
and nothing seems to work except to turn windows search off or reset libraries back to default.
We also did some research online and there are so many people experiencing the same problem, with no resolution expect they have to go back to Windows XP. That is not an option for us.
Please help us we would really greatly appreciate it.

    Hi,
The issue could be related to searching and indexing feature in Windows 7. I suggest rebuilding the indexing files.
    Click Start -> Type
indexing options in the search box -> Advanced -> Index Settings tab-> Rebuild buttion.
For more information, you can refer to:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-advanced-indexing-options
If the issue persists, you can perform the following troubleshooting steps.
    1. Go to update your network adapter drivers and BIOS from manufacture's site manually.
    2. If any router is involved, please update the firmware.
    3. Perform a System File Checker.

  • How can i access my wireless network?

how can i access my wireless network at home?

Does your iPad see your WiFi network - Settings>WiFi>Tap your network name, enter your password and tap join.
If the iPad isn't seeing the network, try rebooting the router - unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

You have Acrobat Pro on your system. It will try to open PDFs, and of course it will fail. You must uninstall it. Then, you will need a PDF reader. So install Adobe Reader. That seems quite simple, but perhaps something is wrong. If anything goes wrong with these two steps (1) uninstall Acrobat Pro (2) install Adobe Reader, then please let us know the details.

  • Can I connect to a network drive on powerup/login?

I am trying to automate backups with psyncx, and want to specify a network drive which sits on an old networked pc's usb port. At the moment, I have to go in finder, click on network, get to the destination drive I want and then it shows up in finder. After all this I can use psyncx and kick off the backup. Is there any way to have this connection happen automatically on login (and if the drive is not present just have it timeout or something?) kind of like nfs mount I guess... but with a network drive sitting on a pc not running samba or anything.
    Thanks,
    Farshid

    Hi.
Try this: Once the network drive is mounted on the Desktop, go to System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items, and drag the drive to the items list. You will have to save the access password for the PC in the Keychain.
    Good Luck.

  • Can I exclude a backup network drive from iTunes?

I have just installed iTunes on my PC after using WMP and WinAmp for many years.
I have a sizeable collection of MP3's on my computer AND on a network back-up drive. When I installed iTunes, not only did it access my internal drives (c: & d:) but it also imported into the library my Back-Up drive (k:).
I want to EXCLUDE the backup/network drive from the iTunes library, but do want to keep my hubby's HD in the network loop for music.
I can not figure out how to do this. Please Help me remove all the files that are on my back-up drive from the iTunes library. Not all of my MP3z as duplicates in the library at the moment because hubby's computer is DOWN at the moment but I still never want iTunes to access our mp3 back-up drive [K:].

I wrote a program to remove tracks from iTunes based on the file path (among other things). You can use it to remove all tracks from the K drive very easily. Go here:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/index.html
and click the download button. Extract the ZIP (teridonsitunesscripts.zip) somewhere, and run "teridonsitunesscripts.exe".
In the window that appears, select "itunesremove_bylocation" and click "Run Selected Script".
A new cmd prompt window will appear, asking you for a pattern to search for. Enter <pre>^K:</pre> (thats a caret (shift-6)) and hit enter. You'll then get a listing all your playlists. Select the Library playlist by typing "1" and hit enter. The program will automatically remove all tracks from iTunes that are on the K: drive.
The files will not be removed from the K: drive itself unless you actually have K: set up as your Library location. It certainly sounds like you do not. However, if you want to double check, from the Edit menu select Preferences. On the Advanced tab, under the General tab, check the "iTunes Music folder location". As long as it isn't K: you don't have to worry.
The forum TOS requires me to say: "I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link" because I have a paypal donation link on my webpage. The program is free (donation totally optional).

    Rob

  • Can't copy file to network drive as "The operation can't be completed because the [Filename] is in use

Following upgrade to Yosemite I now can't copy files from iMac to my network HDD in external media center. I have iMac connected by wi-fi to airport extreme and media center connected to airport extreme by cable. I can see the HDD as a network drive on my iMac and can initiate the copy but right when copy process is finished I see "The operation can’t be completed because the [Filename] is in use". I am trying to copy different media files downloaded from internet which are not used by any program and stored on my hard drive. I actually can copy small files of 1mb and it works but anything above 20mb is halted. I can also move/copy/delete the file on iMac. Cant understand the nature of the problem. I tried to format external HDD as EXT2/EXT3/NTFS but same outcome.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 | iMac late 2009 | Apple Airport Extreme | Dune HD Base 3D mediacenter

Have you tried a restart or logging out/in?
    Some more ideas.

  • Can't access the Time Capsule Drive and attached USB drive

I bought the 3 TB Time capsule a couple of months ago.  I am using it as my wireless router for a cable modem and have attached a USB drive (seagate) to the TC.  I use the TC drive for time machine only.  It worked well at first, for about the first month.   Now I have trouble accessing the TC drive as well as the USB drive.  The router function works perfectly fine.  The drives show up in the Finder under Shared but  cannot connect.  Time machine does not back up because it says the back up drive is not available.  In disc utility, the base station shows with the correct name, but I can't access it. It asks for a pasword but does not respond, so I cannot reboot it from my computer.
If I restart the TC (power off and on), it works fine, I can access both drives.  However, this problem recurs, sometimes within a few days.  I have also noticed, which may be related, that when I enter time machine (when everything is working fine), some of the back-ups are blank.  There is a date and time but no actual back-up.  Not sure if this is related.
I'm runing Mavericks 10.9.2 on an older MacBook, 15" late 2008 with 2.4 ghz dual core.

    Hi Bob,
I updated Mavericks but still had the same problem, so I did a hard reset on TC, although I held the button for over 5 seconds and the amber light was flashing rapidly, it acted like a soft reset.  Still no change so I rebooted my laptop.   Still had an excellent internet connection but in AirPort utility, the TC is grayed out and says device not found.  Light on TC was amber.  So, I tried a hard reset again, but the light wouldn't flash at all.  Unplugged it and after pluggin back in, acted like a hard reset.  I restored previous settings and it is fine for the moment.  Will keep you posted if it recurs.  Hopefully it will not with updated Mavericks, but I get the feeling the problem may be the TC.

  • Can't access Windows 7 network nor homegroup via router or ad-hoc

I have a really annoying problem. I have 2 clean computers. They were formatted and Win 7 ultimate was installed on both computers. They have a PCI wireless card (D-Link DWA 525). Their hardware is identical, same motherboard, etc, beside the "server"
is pentium 4 and the "client" is celeron.
We have 2 routers and 1 modem. The first router, Airport Extreme, act as DHCP server, and provides the wireless network. The second router (TimeCapsule), connected thought ethernet to the first router, extends the wireless network (act as a bridge). I can connect
to the network and the internet works fine.
The problem is with the local network.
I can see both computers on the network tab. I can ping both by IP and by name. I made a Homgroup on the computer "Server". The computer "client" joined. I can see the libraries. Both computer's firewall are disabled. All firewalls from
the routers and the modem are disabled.
Double-clicking the library on the Homegroup does nothing. Trying to access the shared folder by \SERVER or by the network tab gives error "network path not found".
Basic settings, like file and sharing, etc, are on. Password sharing is off. Encryption is 40 - 50 (not the 128, I don't remember the specific number). This is both for Home and Work and Public networks.
Because I couldn't access the network, I decided to make an ad-hoc. Same problems. Even with static IP (192.168.0.1 [server] and 192.168.0.3 [client], 255.255.255.0 subnet) and NetBios forced at enabled.
I just can't make it work. I have tried a lot of info from here and other forums, but nothing has work. The worst is that another PC will join the network, but I haven't do it yet just because I can't make these PCs to work. As a test, I did put the other PC
in the network (Win 7 Home), and the same problem applied.
All the computers can see them in the Network tab, ping either ways with both IP and name, but when trying to access the pc over network, it gives network path not found error.
    Yes I have shared files.
Troubleshooting both Homegroup and Network finds nothing wrong or just can't fix the problem.
    Please help!

    Hi,
I tried and received only errors (i don't remember know which ones).
However, I plugged the PCs via ethernet, let automatic IP address, and now I can access the network from both computers. Homegroups doesn't work because the network is public, but that isn't a matter right now, because I can access the files.
This makes me thing if the problem is the network adapter. In the Advanced tab on Device Manager Properties, I have the follow options, which I don't have idea what are they for:
    AC_BE support APSD [disabled]
    AC_BK support APSD [disabled]
    AC_VI support APSD [disabled]
    AC_VO support APSD [disabled]
    APSD capable [disabled]
    Multimedia/Gaming Environment [Enabled]
    Roaming Sensitivity [Medium]
    WMM Capable [Enabled]
Do you think some of that options are interfering?
    Thank you

  • Can't copy files to network drive

I have a network drive attached to my Airport Extreme partitioned into 'Network Drive' and 'Network Backup' partitions. I successfully backup wirelessly to Network Backup. I'm sure I have files currently in the Network Drive partition but I can't see them when I open the partition in Finder. I have a folder with files that I want to copy from a local drive to Network Backup. However, after I drop the folder onto Network Backup, I get the following series of dialogs.
    Please advise.
    TIA,
    David

Through the magic of rebooting, this is now working. Still curious what might have been the root problem here.....

  • I can't access my internal hard drive...

as the Beatles song goes..."help...I need somebody!"
My G5 has suddenly got a strange problem...my machine is still operational, but one of the hard drives that houses all of my programs has become inaccesable. When I click on the icon on my desktop, it opens on black screen...then the screen flashes quickly and the window for the hard drive simply closes. The machine acts as if nothing has happened, and none of my other programs shut down in the process. Also, not only can I use my programs still...but I can still access all of my server volumes
Any thoughts...any and all help is truely and greatly appreciated!

  • DBMS_DATAPUMP - can it pump to a network drive?

DARREN_S_2ND_DIR was created like this, where H: is a network drive (that the database server has access to, obviously):
    create or replace directory DARREN_S_2ND_DIR as 'H:\DMORBY\GRANULAR_BACKUP';
It seems to work okay when a different directory that is created as a local directory on the server. (It's Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003.)
Is it possible that creating a directory on a network drive is the problem, or have I missed something else?

Go to task manager and see who is running the oracle.exe process. Or check the services applet and look at the "Log On As" for your db service. If it's you as well, then I dunno. If it's Local System, then you need to modify the service to Log On As a real account with privs to that drive. After you do that, shutdown the database and restart the service.
    Edit:
And of course you may need to change ownership of all the database files, as well.

  • I can not access to my nas drive on lion

    Hey,
I am trying access to my nas drive (icybox ibnas4220b) but i keep getting you dont have permissions to access error message. So far i manage to map the folders in nas drive using Connect to Server application (cmdK) but when i try to access to the folders inside i get the permission error message.
I am using Mac OSx 10.7.2. I am quite new to apple. Can anyone help...
    Thanks

I might be running into the same problem...
When I mount a drive using the finder's "Go / Connect to Server..." command I can choose the share to connect to and it mounts the share, puts it on the desktop etc... but then it tells me that:
"The folder “Sharename” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.
And the drive sits on my desktop taunting me.
But! I've found that I can access the share from the terminal. I'm not sure if you're comforatable using the terminal, but if you are, try going into the /Volumes/ folder and using cd and ls to look around your share. Let me know if it works - it's a crummy work-around, but at least we'll know if we have (maybe) the same problem.
    Good luck!
