Can't access some secure sites through proxy?

can't access some secure sites through proxy server on osx it just keeps going local authority couldn't be contacted, i had the same problem with parental controls, but now that is off and its still doing it, is there a setting or something i need to enable?

In my original post, not today's, I had said I was having the issues on the Mini, running OSX 10.6.8 and Safari v.5.1.5 for my bank's pill pay. I should have been more specific as to which machine and OSX Safari browser I'm having the T-Mobile problem with. My mistake.
It is on both the MacMini and now the Air too. A moment ago, I was able to log in to my.t-mobile.com on the Air, but after putting into my Bookmarks folder, I can't do it anymore. The Log in button comes up greyed out instead of green.
I'm also still having trouble with my bank's bill pay section on both computers too.
I wonder if it's related to the saving of the log in info or putting in the Bookmark Folder?

  • Can't access some web sites with version 4.0

I recently installed version 4.0 and am in test phase of the server.
With or without ACL's turned on, I can't access the following web site
    https://www.sunnet.sunlife.com/member/signin/index.asp?
    or
    https://www.sunnet.sunlife.com/member/
In Internet Explorer, it sits on a blank page with the little world logo spinning around until it finally times out after a few minutes. I've tried accessing these sites with both IE6 and IE 5.5 and get the same problem.
As a footnote, the web access to these sites works fine with our current Web Proxy version 3.6.
Does anyone have any ideas why this isn't working through the new Proxy 4.0?
    Thanks

I did some additional testing through Proxy 4. All web sites and web pages including secure sites that I tried accessing over the past couple of days all appear to work fine with the exception of the forementioned sites. Access to these specific web pages (which I cannot currently access) are part of our day-to-day business requirements, and therefore will prevent me from using Proxy version 4.0 as our production proxy unless I can figure out why these web pages won't load, and how to fix the problem.
As an experiment, I tried to access these web pages through Proxy 4 with Mozilla FireFox and Netscape 7. None of these web browsers (including Internet Explorer) will bring up these web pages when going through Proxy 4. But bypassing the proxy or going through our v3.6 proxy works fine for these web pages everytime, and with all browsers. This leads me to believe that this web page access problem is not a browser specific problem, but something in Proxy 4 isn't processing the request to display the page properly.
As a reference, the web site in question is http://www.sunlife.ca. On the left hand side of the page go to "Sign In" then "Plan Members". Thats where the request hangs through Proxy 4 no matter which browser I use, including Netscape... but works perfectly fine with Proxy v3.6.
Can someone who is running a version 4 Proxy also please try to access the SunLife Members login page and see if it works or fails for you?
    Thanks

  • Gateway can't access some SSL sites

    Hello,
because our intranet has some websites which aren't under our
control, they have no proper Certificates installed.
Therefore, I have already set "gateway.trust_all_server_certs"
    in all gateway-instances, and
    "com.iplanet.am.jssproxy.trustAllServerCerts" in AMConfig.properties"
to "true", but some sites are still not reachable and produces such
    messages in the gateway log:
org.mozilla.jss.ssl.SSLSocketException: Failed to write to socket: (-8157) Certificate extension not found.
As a workaround for some sites, I have activated the rewriter proxy
which seems to be more tolerant about incorrect certificates.
But I think there is something which should get fixed in the software.
    Regards,
    Juergen Maihoefner

  • Can LabVIEW access an HTTPS site behind a proxy?

I have been trying to use LabVIEW to access an https site through our corporate firewall/proxy and have been unable to get it to work. Does anyone have any experience with this and or know whether this should be able to be done?
I have successfully been able to get LV to access websites (http and https) without going through a firewall and thanks to posts on these forums figured out how to access an http site through the firewall but have come up blank when trying any https sites. Below are some test cases I have tried. All of these sites are easily accessed via browsers so it isn't due to firewall/proxy iblocking.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    -- Harold
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I suspect the SSL handshake failing is getting close to the source of the problem.
We have the same proxy port (8080) for both http and https as far as I can tell. I have used wireshark to monitor the message flow and LV is doing something quite different than my browser does.
The browser opens a connection to the proxy (on port 8080) and then issues a CONNECT command to the proxy to access the ultimate location and then does a SSL handshake.
LabVIEW opens a connection to the proxy but then appears to be encrypting it immediately without a SSL handsake that I can see.
My speculation is that the underlying LabVIEW code is not really proxy aware and doesn't know how to issue a CONNECT command or equivalent. I'd be glad to be proven wrong with someone demonstrating this works for them (I've posted a sample VI in a previous post).
I can also post the wireshark message info if it would help anyone troubleshoot what is going on.

  • I can't access most .mil sites pretty sure I just need it to let me add the security exception but it doesn't give me the option anymore.

Ever since I got the last two updates for Firefox I can't access most .mil sites like ako or even the us army library Europe site. These sites use to come up as untrusted sites that I just accepted and continued life. However now it goes straight to server not found page. I know the site links and bookmarks are good because they are what I used to use. I've read some of the other help situations that are similar and I can see some of the old certificates in the advanced options up nothing I've done in there had changed anything.

To try to distinguish between a change in Firefox and a problem in your settings, could you do a three-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
''Be careful not to delete anything in this dialog.''
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like Sept9, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Do the sites work any differently?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Can't access some sites when using Aiport Express, why?

I'm using Windows 7 and my router is a wireless Apple Airport Express that is approximately two years old. Suddenly I can't access some sites (for example www.sthlm.friskissvettis.se, or www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk, some streamed tv-shows on svtplay.se, and a number of other random sites) when connecting to internet with my router. It worked good until recently and I'm fairly sure this problem emerged when my ISP upgraded from 10/10mbit to 100/10mbit speed. Most other sites like facebook and google works fine.
When using my network cable to connect to internet everything works fine and I can access these sites.
Firmware is current and I've tried reseting the router to factory defaults.
Tried different browsers, and I can't ping the "blocked" sites either. Tracert www.sthlm.friskissvettis.se starts with 10.0.0.1 and continues through a number of long addresses until it says timeout. The last working address before timeout was sth-tcy-ipcore01-ge-0-2-0.neq.dgcsystems.net [83.241.252.13], if it matters. Tracert www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk also eventually gives me a timeout.
When the network cable is plugged in, I still get timeout on tracert www.sthlm.friskissvettis.se even though I can access the site in Chrome. Weird. www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk doesn't give me a tracert timeout when the cable is plugged in, and I can access the site as usual.
I've tried changing DNS servers to use opendns servers instead, but to no use.
I've tried pinging these two sites with a lower MTU packet size (with this method: http://www.richard-slater.co.uk/archives/2009/10/23/change-your-mtu-under-vista- or-windows-7/), but still can't access them through ping...
I don't know what to do anymore.... any suggestions???
    Thanks

first try to disable JavaScript from : Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content panel > '''UNcheck''' Enable JavaScript.
if the above does not help check with a few malware/virus scan programs for virus. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure to update each program to get the latest version before doing a scan.

Since I updated my IPad software to iOS 5.0.1 from 5.0, I cannot access some web sites. How can I go back?

Sorry, you cannot downgrade iOS software.
First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appear. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Safari can not access any secure (HTTPS) web pages

Does anyone have an idea why a good frined of mine using Safari 1.3.2 on a Power Book G4 with Mac OS 10.3.9 can not access any secure web pages (those that start with HTTPS)? I can not find any preferences that might control this. She can access the pages with IE but not Safari. What setting on her computer might control this? Any ideas would be appreciated. I even through away (com.apple.Safari.plist) file. Not change. An ideas??

I have the same problem! However, this is ONLY while running wireless internet. Anytime I want to use an HTTPS site, I have to plug directly into my router, so I'm not wireless anymore, and then it works fine. Every now and then (like maybe 5% of the time), I get lucky and it will work for a short while such as logging into yahoo mail for example (logging into here didn't work at first but after waiting a bit, i was able to log in), but trying to stay on a secure connection such as a bank accnt. is impossible.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Everyone I've asked says they've never had the problem. I thought I was the only one.
I checked my proxy settings -- nothing is checked. I've tried deleting preferences and I reset safari often.

  • Can't access some websites using time capsule

Everything has been working just fine with my time capsule and my imac and just today I couldn't access some websites for some reason. I tried many other sites including this one and can get to them no problem. I have been through all of the airport settings and trouble shooting and can't find any problems, also the other 2 computers and my blackberry can't access some of the same sites either, I am stumped. Does anyone out there have any idea whats going on? Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to the discussions!
Suggest that you contact your ISP. It sounds like their DNS server is overloaded at the moment, but also unlikely that they will ever admit it.
It wouldn't hurt to power cycle your complete network as well. Just power everything down, order is not important.
Start the modem first and let it run a few minutes by itself.
Then start the next device connected to the modem, probably your Time Capsule, and let it run a few minutes.
Then start your computers and devices one by one the same way.

Can't access my banking site past the identification page. I was getting a message in Firefox, that said "your security settings have changed.... (no they have not), and something about "resetting, Yes or No. I pressed yes, but still could not get in. I pressed NO, and the message has gone, but still can't access the bank. I can access through "Explorer, but not Firefox.

Nevermind, I figured it out myself

  • Can't access some websites and speed problem

    Hi guys,
I hope to find some help here please as I am desperate!
It has been a week now that I am having problems with my broadband, suddenly I can't access some italian's websites (which I was able to access before). The browser tries to load up the page but nothing happens (it doesn't even give me an error). I tried those website on both my laptops (one windows and one mac) and on 3 different browsers but I have the same problem.
I even tried to use Google DNS on my mac but that didn't solve the problem, I have already tried to reset my BT home hub but again that didn't help.
    Any ideas?
The other thing is that my broadband speed is really strange, because before it used to be very fast during the day (500-600 kb/s download) and really slow during peak-hours (which I know is normal). But for the past month it has been really slow (70kb/s download) even during the day, it has some brief moments when it's slightly faster but not as fast as before. Any suggestions on what would be the problem or what I can try?
I will really appreciate your help.
    Thank you all
    Robbie

  • I can't access my pictures anymore through iPhoto because I simply don't know where they are stored when imported into iPhoto. The library used automatically before is not shown anymore. Can anyone help me to recover all my pictures?

I had some problems with my MacbookPro and did some clean up and further back-up (time machine already in place for a long time). Now, suddenly I can't access my pictures anymore through iphoto asking me for a library (never asked for before) and I have no clue where the pictures are actually saved when imported in iphoto. Can anyone help me recover my pictures, such as telling me WHERE the pictures are actually stored? Thank you so much!

A critical question - exactly what "clean up" did you do and how?
Do you have an iPhoto library in yoru pictures folder? If you depress and hold the option key and launch iPhoto - what do you see in the select library window? Select each library there and see what you have
