Can't access "tools" menu!

After I logged on today (ATT is Internet provider), my web page wasn't activating all the way. Suddenly, there were two new items at the top right of my page: a rust-colored oblong box saying "Firefox" with a drop drown arrow, and beside it another oblong box that merely repeats whatever website address you're viewing. It completely covers up the File...and Tools boxes! No matter what, you can't get to them.
What can I do?

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).
You can hide or make the Menu bar visible via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or tap the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.

How can I add "Tools" menu bar item to firefox orange button

After upgrading to FireFox 4 I decided to hide the menu bar, doing so I am not able to access the addons like "tamper data" which can be accessed only from the tools item of the menubar. Is there a way to customize the orange button of the firefox4 to add tools menu item?

You can find the Options menu item in the right column if you click the orange Firefox button.<br />
Via the arrow at the right of Options you can open an extra menu with other Option choices.<br />
Items that show a distinct highlighted arrow act as two different choices: the main item on the left and an extra menu with choices if you click the arrow. Items with an ellipsis (…) indicate that another window will open.

Can't access Tools/Options/Applications in FF 12.0

Every time I try to do the following in FF 12.0, the browser stops responding/hangs/freezes/basically says "sorry, dude:"
1. Download files either by right clicking and choosing "save" or clicking directly on it. This includes email attachments, videos, etc. I also cannot attach files to emails since the same thing happens the moment I hit "Browse."
2. Cannot access Tools/Options/Applications, usually getting the same results. In my various attempts to resolve this, I have been able to open that window, but the space where file associations are listed is empty.
If it's any help, when I've reverted back to FF 3.5.1.9, I can do all those things ... I just can't get "Words With Friends" to load in Facebook.
What I have done in an attempt to correct this issue:
1.) Everything, including deleting the various .rdf files, etc.
2.) Tried starting in safe mode, using every possible variation.
3.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox around a hundred times, removing personal settings and cleaning the registry each time.
4.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and Java three or four times each.
5.) Everything.
I am at my wit's end, thus the request for help. Unfortunately, if someone offers a solution, I've probably tried it.
Additional information: I did use firetune once, returned to the backup configuration I created, used it again and returned to the backup again. This seems to be right around the time the problems began, but I'm not positive.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Running WinXP Media, 512MB RAM, 32-bit, etc.

Actually, Matt, I have tried that, but I certainly am willing to try again. Do you suggest deleting the current profile and all its settings, deleting the profile and keeping the personal settings, or just adding another complete profile in addition to the one that currently exists?

Can't access Power Menu at all in Windows 8.1

Hi. I'd really like a fix for this as it's driving me crazy.
I used to be able to access this menu by the usual keyboard shortcut of Win+X. For some time now (perhaps since the 8.1 upgrade), nothing pops up when I try it. I thought perhaps Windows 8.1 was different, but after doing some research, I realise that
the keyboard shortcut hasn't changed and I can't access it by right clicking the Start button either. Again nothing pops up - no menu whatsoever. :(

You may try a System Restore.Select any restore point when there was no such problem.
You may try a Clean Boot.

I am having a problem with photoshop CS3 f0r windows. I can't access the tools. All I get is the hand tool. Does anyone have a solution for this problems?

When I open an existing VI I dont see Tools menu. How do I change my cursor to move some objects and do other functions? I am opening in Edit Mode but cursor cannot be changed from "hand" to "arrow".

Hi,
In LabVIEW 6.x and prior you could always use the and to toggle between the most useful 2 and 4 tools. You can still do this in LabVIEW 7.x, but this also has the "Automatic Tool Selection" option, and it might prevent you from the Space/Tab selection if it is set to "Lock automatic tool selection on" under "Tools > New and Changed in 7.x".
Personally my favorite way to choose my tool, is the + combination. Then the Tools palette doesn't stay open like it would if choosing "Show Tools Palette" from the menu.

Can't access VCD menu template capabilities / wizard set-up

Elements 3.0, windows XP: I have searched high and low, and although I am a newbie, can not find this answer: regardless of whether I access FILE: NEW: VCD with Menu, or selected the "Creation" button and go to the "create with Photos" menu, then select "VCD with Menu" I can not access the "VCD with menu Creation wizard".
I go directly to the "create a VCD with Menu" screen where I pick my slide shows (previously created). "NTSC" is selected, and the option in the lower right is "Burn". If I select "Burn" it goes directly to create the VCD.
I know that I accessed the Creation Wizard once, where I could pick the Slide show menu template, edit the text, etc. Just as listed in all the help, but I can not seem to get to a point where I can access the wizard any longer.
Sorry for this silly question, but my frustration rages on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't access Finder & menu bar flashes on & off at "boot-up"

After installing a screensaver yesterday from an Apple recommended site, the problem above occurred but also applications are quitting unexpectedly when I access menu items & try to delete items. Also Spotlight won't work - if I type stuff in Spotlight, the app I have open just quit. I can't access finder so can't even get to delete the ??offending screensaver.

Have you tried uninstalling the screen saver?
After that try repairing permissions.
Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
Then select your drive from the left and click "Repair Disk Permissions"
If that does not help, call Apple Care 1800767APPLE.
Or take your MacBookPro to an Apple Store.

How can I access alt-menu keyboard shortcuts in fullscreen?

When Firefox is not in fullscreen mode, I can access all the functions of the menu bar by pressing the appropriate alt-letter keyboard shortcut (alt-f for file menu, alt-e for edit, etc).
This seems to be disabled in fullscreen mode. So I have to get out of fullscreen, pull down the menu, and then go back to fullscreen. How can I use keyboard shortcuts to access the menu while in fullscreen mode?

Aaaaaand this is where I confess that this is a dual boot system, and I got the userChrome-example.css from the Win7 side because there was no userChrome.css file on my system. I got it from here:

I've bought a new remote for my apple TV and now I can't access the menu

I just bought a new remote for my Apple TV since I lost the original one. Now I cannot access the menu as all I get is the standard "screen saver". Even then, sometimes it won't even turn on, so I have to unplug it and wait two minutes and then plug it back in. Regardless if I do that or not...........the best I ever get is the screen saver.

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details to expand this section.<br>If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

Can't access tools in c4d lite

Hi there,
I am in c4d lite. After making an object and selecting polygon mode, I am tryingt o right click in the work area to access my tools (ie dissolve, brush, mirror, iron, knife etc.) The contextual menu that apprears is very bare. It has four items (undo, frame selected element, aling and reverse normal, and optimize.) In the tutorial I am watching, there are many items that should apprear in that menu. Could it be that some supporting files were not installed properly.

What a shame. But arn't these tools of key importance in modeling? Obviously this version is free and "lite" so I don't expect it to have all the bells, but this seems like a fundamental function to any workflow in c4d. Darn. Thanks for the help
