Activate CS4 on new WIN8 computer

I am trying to activate CS4 on WIN8 and uninstalled it on my old WIN XP. Your response is to deactivate the software but I have removed it from the computer. I am supposed to be able to use it on the new computer. Please help.

Unfortunately uninstalling CS4 doesn't mean that it is deactivated.
If you still have the XP machine you could try to re-install CS4 on that machine. It is possible that the registration information has been kept in the system registry and therefor it will still be active on that machine. You can then go to the help menu select deactivate and that will mean you can install it on your Windows 8 machine.
Failing that you will have to get in touch with Adobe support (as suggested elsewhere on this thread) to have your activation count reset.

How to activate CS4 on new Mac which does not have CD/DVD drive?

One answer to this elsewhere in the foum was to copy the discs to a thumb drive, then copy them to the new computer, then use those to install CS4 (or any pre-Cloud version) on the new machine. This works for disc-1. But there's no way to "install" disc-2 or to make the half-complete installation process pick up disc-2. How can I install CS4 on my new Mac?

Most likely, you downloaded the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom which will not accept your serial number. You need to uninstall it, reboot, then download the standalone version of Lightroom and install that.

How do I do this and activate both installations? I tried calling Adobe but the only number I have to troubleshoot problems is for Creative Cloud problems only. Any way to contact a live person at Adobe would be appreciated. Any other solutions would also be appreciated..

Can't Update CS4 on New Laptop Running Windows 7 64bit

I just upgraded a 2 year old slow laptop running 32 bit Vista to a brand new Asus G73JW laptop running Windows 7 64 bit. It is a really fast laptop with 8G RAM, 1.5GB dedicated graphics card, full 1920 x 1080 HD res, solid state drive for operating drive etc. It is a beast of a laptop that boots up fully in about 10 seconds and it was built for HD gamers. Needless to say I am pretty excited to get to work on my favourite Adobe software, which is Premiere Pro and Photoshop mostly.
Everything on the laptop works great but... I installed my CS4 Production Premium without a problem, however, the Adobe Updater will not work. I tried it about 10 times now, rebooting, trying various programs to try the updates etc, to no avail. They are very important updates, as the software will not function properly in several programs without the updates. I can't find anything about this specific issue, has anyone had this problem with Windows 7 64 bit?
FYI everything worked fine with the Vista 32 bit, including updates.
I am pretty frustrated now and I just want to start using the software, and I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone may have.
I already have an e-mail in to Asus to find out if the latest NVidia GTX 460M graphics card driver can be updated on my system. There are a few other drivers I am looking into updating as well to see if that will help.

Can't activate Photoshop on new MacBook Pro

Program Version: Photoshop Elements 8.
I just purchased a new MacBook Pro today to replace my three year old MacBook. I sold my old MacBook after I backed it up onto an external hard disk via Time Machine. I have used migration assistant to import everything back onto my new Macintosh and Photoshop throws an error saying that I cannot activate Photoshop because the serial number has been activated more than once (It is also used on my iMac).
My old MacBook has been reformatted and is no longer with me so I cannot go back and deactivate that copy of Photoshop (I have eBay records and emails showing the selling and reformatting of my old Macintosh for proof). What should I do? Who do I talk to? I do not want to purchase another copy of Photoshop. I use Photoshop for graphics in Web Development in University so I need it back up and running!

Yes, I realized that afterwards. To contact support for activation problems, go to the very bottom of the web page and click the Contact Adobe link and you'll see a place on the first tab for activation/deactivation. There are phone numbers in a drop down on the right side of the tab. Sorry, I can't link directly because I only get the US numbers here.

Can't install CS4 on new MacBook Pro

I'm trying to install CS4 on a brand-new MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.6.3. The Setup doesn't even start. I get an error message: "Setup cannot be opened because of a problem." It says that Setup won't work with this version of Mac OS X.
In the Terminal details, there is the following error:
Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/asneu.framework/Versions/A/asneu
Referenced from: Users/...
Reason: image not found
I get the same error whether I double-click on the Setup.app or do Open Package Contents > Contents > MacOS > Setup.exe.
I have researched this error and found that other people have had the issue when the setup process is 90% through, but I can't even get mine to start. I've tried using the CleanScript app from Adobe, but since I don't have another version of Creative Suite on this brand-spankin-new computer, there's nothing to clean or uninstall. I've also tried creating another admin login to install from that, but to no avail.
Any help out there?

the error says library not found. Somehow the install program does not execute properly. It might be a problem of the disc. If you have a second computer or an external Drive try to install from there and see if the same error occurs. If it does, then it must be the CDs. If not then we have to investigate further.

A reset is nothing more than rebooting your iPad and you will not lose any data, or settings.
To reboot: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.
For me, from time to time, I have experienced some issues with Yahoo mail on iPad. Rebooting has always solved whatever the issue was.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Need to activate CS4 on new PC after old drive died

The old drive is totally inaccessible, so I can't transfer the license from one to the other.

I had a similar problem just last night. I wanted to put CS4 on an old laptop, but it gave the 'Too many installations' error. I followed the support path which took me to the Chat room help, and a very nice support person called Abhishek fixed it for me. I have used the service once before, and experienced long delays, and a support person who did not appear to understand my questions, (or English at all AFAICT) but it worked really well this time, so thanks and hats off to Adobe.
