Can't activate Elements 7.0

I just spent 40 minutes on chat help where they oh so helpfully told me I have to post my question here.
I got a new hard drive. I have elements 7 and premier elements 7. I bought them in 2008.
When I type in my activation code, it says it is not valid. I have 50,000 photos in the organizer all tagged and waiting and no software to access them. Spent literally months organizing and tagging and cannot fathom losing that.
Chat person said they don't support version 7. That is NOT the point. I own 7 and it would be just plain wrong to make me buy a new version just because I got a new hard drive! Grrrrrrr.

Can't activate Elements 7 anymore

First off, I'm a big fan of Elements and have been using it for years. I recommend it to everyone I know. My problem is that I just got a new desktop and was going to move my Elements 7 there. I have my software case and serial number but can't find the CD so I downloaded the trial of 7 (NOT 8, you can still find 7 it out there) however it will not activate, get the red X after the serial number when I try. I did an online chat and a telephone call to 2 different support reps and they both told me the same thing: that it would not activate because Adobe no longer supports version 7 and then told me I would have to go buy version 8. I refuse to do that since I'm assuming version 9 will be out in a few months. I'm miffed becuase I paid for 7, I own it and assumed I could keep installing and using it til the end of time as long as I didn't install it on more than 2 PCs. Evidently that's not true, you can only install until Adobe comes out with a new version. Rather annoying... guess I'm stuck using my old PC for a few more months.

Thank you Barbara, I suspected as much, asked exactly that of the support folks I spoke with and I was clearly told that even if I had installed from the CD it wouldn't activate and that my only option was to upgrade. I will find the CD, I know it's around here somewhere amidst my junk, and try again.

The product is listed as registered in my account. I've followed all the online instructions but I still cannot access the area of Adobe which will allow me to activate my product. Help?!

Which operating system are you running on?
When checking your system clock, make sure that daylight saving is set correctly.
There is a browser plugin or software (BrowserSafeGaurd) which blocks and tampers network calls. This software has been reported as malware. Please check if you have it on your machine and remove that by following steps mentioned on http://www.tomsguide.com/us/browser-safeguard-remove-how-to,news-19273.html and try to license the software once again.

When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.

Did you install it on your old machine? Is the old machine still around with you in working order? If so then there is a tool called Belarc Advisor that can retrieve the serial number from the old machine. It is for Windows only so if you are using Steve Jobs machine then you are in bad luck. Unless of course, you registered the product with Adobe but most people don't; I don't anyway.

PC Crashed and can't activate reinstalled photoshop

My PC Crashed and a new hard drive was needed. I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 8 on the PC but now I can't activate the product without deactivating the programme on the redundant hard drive. How do I fix this?

I did not have the Purchased option under my quick links for some unknown reason. Contacted itunes support who kindly granted me a one time re-download of my purchased music. And it was through available downloads that I was able to retrieve them and the Purchase option is now there under the quick links! If you do not have another ipod, phone, ipad etc. with your music etc., you must back up your files.

I have just bought Photoshop and Premiere Elements 11 and want to know how many home computers I can install it on?

You can install on as many machines as you please. You can only activate on two machines at any given time, and for those two machines you cannot use the same software on both at the same time.

Can't activate Collapsible frame in VC 7.0

Hi all,
I want to activate collapsible frame in iviews of a layer. the user wants to collapse/expand iviews. I installed VC 7.0 SP18. But it doesn't work. On the configuration element settings of iview, the checkbox "Collapsible frame" is always light gray. So I can't activate it.
Does anyone has any idea ?

Even if you use navigation control 'Tab Strip' still it should work. I am using the same thing in one of my model. You just right click on layer in your model. Then you choose 'Configure Element -> Layers ->Navigation control -> Tab strip' this is working fine for you. Now do following setting 'Configure Element -> Portal iView -> Layout Method -> Horizontal / Vertical'. This will activate your 'Collapse option of the table or form.
One more thing to share, after deploying the model by default you will see the table / form open. Just go to the upper right corner of the table/form there is one arrow. You have to click that arrow to collapse the frame. By default it will be in open state.
Also you can use 'Navigation Control -> Accordian' this is same like collapse but you have to modify the layers for proper display.
