Can't activate new phoneline until end of billing cycle?

Hi,
Last week I received an iphone from Apple. This is a new line with a 2 year contract. I thought it was activated as soon as I received it/turned it on... but had issues doing so. I called verizon and was also unable to activate the line and was told i could only do so at the end of my billing cycle. Is this correct?
I should note:
-I was having trouble activating my iphone when with the sim card that shipped with the phone, so I switched the sim card out with the primary sim card on my account get to the phone's home screen. I have since placed the original sim card back into the phone and keep getting the message to contact verizon if my activation issues continue.
Please let me know what I need to do to use my new device! I don't think I was given the correct information when calling in.

  • Can't activate new iPad 2

    Hi,
    I just received a new iPad 2 and can't activate it with Verizon.  The Wifi works fine and the iPad indicates that I have a strong signal from Verizon.  When I go through the activation procedure, I end up with a generic error message and it says to contact Verizon tech support.
    I called tech support and he walked me through the process several times (after network reset, after total reset, with and without the wifi turned on, with and without cellular turned on, etc.) and it always failed.  The tech told me that a small number of units are having activation problems, and it is due to a iOS 5.0.1 software problem.  He will forward my serial number and other info to Apple tech support, and told me I would have to wait for an update from Apple.
    Has anyone else had this problem?  I am thinking of returning it and exchanging for a new one, but it would be much easier to figure out how to get this one to work.  Anyone have any possible solutions?

    I would hate for you to have to wait for a replacement iPad 2 to activate as well!  I would like to offer assistance.  First, I would like to thank thatdecade for the great feedback.

  • I've purchased a season pass but can't download new episodes until I pay again?

    I've never actually purchased anything on the iTunes Store apart from ringtones & apps, but i purchased a season pass for season 3 of The Valleys... I can see there's a new episode out but it's telling me to purchase the season pass again? It was fine for episode 1 & 2 but not 3. When I purchased it I was understanding that I have purchased every episode & can download the new episodes once they're available on the iTunes Store. Is there anything I can do?

    What happens when you try to download the episodes ? I assume that those 2 episodes are available in your country's store (?).

  • Can't activate new iPhone 4gs for AT&T

    After connecting my new iPhone 4s to iTunes, it reported that it lost connection to the activation server. I continued restoring the phone with all my old 3gs info but iTunes never tries to activate it again. Shouldn't iTunes keep trying to activate my phone? Can I manually force iTunes to try again?

  • Can't Activate New NI Developer's Suite W/O Internet Connection

    I have a new version of Labview NI Developers Suite 2013 but due to being on a company intRAnet due to security reasons the installation software can't contact National Instruments to verify the serial numbers.  Is there a way around this such as NI sending me an activation code or something after I send them the serial number?

    Yes, you can call our tech support and we can generate activation code for you with your serial number, and computer ID (open NI License Manager>>click on "Display Computer Information").
    You may also be able to go to ni.com/activate in a computer that has internet access, and generate activation code for the targeted computer.

  • Can't activate new first-gen iPhone

    Believe it or not, even the guys at AT&T are stumped on this one.
    I have a brand new first-generation original iPhone ... never been used.
    I want to use it as an iTouch (without phone service).
    It needs to be activated in the first place to be deactivated so that it has the iTouch features.
    AT&T says that original iPhone networks are no longer supported, so activating it on iTunes is impossible.  On another post, someone said that using someone else's SIM car that has already been activated is a bad idea because the phone gets "married" to the SIM, although I don't know what that means.  No one at the AT&T store will let me borrow their SIM and I don't know anyone who has one. 
    Both AT&T tech support and the guys at the local AT&T store have said there is nothing they know how to do.
    I refuse to believe I have a brand new iPhone that I should throw into the trash.
    Anyone know how to activate this thing so I can use it as an iTouch?

    Using a SIM from another phone will not marry the Sim to the Phone. It would be a good idea, though, if at all possible, to use a SIM from an existing iPhone, iPhone 3G or 3Gs. The activation process should be able to go through just fine, but if the existing SIM is from something other than an iPhone, th owner may find their plan modified in ways they don't want... data plan, etc. I don't KNOW that this would happen as I haven't gone through the self activation process since 2007, but I suspect it might... I also suspect that, though it should be possible for AT&T to activate an original iPhone, the self activation servers that served the original may no longer be alive... I don't KNOW that for a fact either, but everything since the original (I think it started with the 3G...) has been activated in store either at Apple or AT&T. Personally, I liked the self activation, but someone decided it created too many headaches.
    Why don't you take it into an Apple store and see if the genius can help you out?

    to replicate the CCM db manually perform the following:
    in SQL Enterprise Manager: (on publisher)
    click on: 'publisher'>replicationMonitor>Publishers>'database'>CCM03xx:CCM03xx
    right click on SnapShot in right hand window; choose StartAgent. (will start in a minute or so; if not it will give the reason why under the LastAction field)
    when the snapshot is completed the subscriber should pull it automatically. if it does not, right-click the subscriber in right hand window and choose 'StartSynchronizing'
    sub should synch up DB and finish. (if not it will display the reason why it could not under the LastAction field)

  • I want to upload music to my iPhone, but it is synced to a dead computer. iTunes says that I can't add new music until I de-authorize the other comp (which I can't). Any suggestions?

    You will have to upgrade your operating system version and possibly your whole computer.  We cannot provide more information easily until we know more about your system.
    Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
    Apple does tell you about required equipment for the iPhone -- in 8 point medium gray type on a light gray box.   The Store associates kind of automatically assume everybody is running a new model computer and the one I met when we bought our iPhone had never seen a pre-2008 Mac and was somewhat puzzled why anybody would own such an antique.

  • Can not activate new DSL account

    Where can I get a new password for the internet. Have spent 4 hrs with oversea support with no result. They sent me a new modem figuring that would work. The activation software said there is an account for my phone line and asks for a password I do not have and then shuts off the internet. This has been going on for four days and am total;ly frustrated and wondering if its all worth it. Please help.

    Then if you can access that site, follow the directions.

  • Can't activate new maxx: no bars

    Hi!  I am trying to activate an insurance replacement, but when I start the process, it doesn't work because it says it's getting no signal.  The 4g area is grey, not blue, like when it's got a signal.  My original phone has a signal with lots of bars.  What might be going on?

        We want you to enjoy that device ASAP bonnieboo2! Are you outside your home area? Where are you currently located? You will need to be in a 4G area to activate your SIM and 4G device. Did you retain your existing one or did you receive a new one with the replacement?

  • Can't Activate new iPhone 4

    I have been attempting to activate my new iPhone 4 for 3.5 hours. Been on phone with ATT and Apple, they say the activation server is overloaded.  I would have thought there would be a lot more complaining in the media unless I am the only one?  Apple did not expect a lot of activations today?  Mr. Jobs would not be happy!

    Mr. Jobs would understand.  This happens EVERY TIME a NEW I PHONE is released.  AT&T servers are being overloaded.  You have to be patient.  After all it is just a phone, not a cure for cancer.

  • Can't activate new ABAP editor

    Hi everyone !
    We recently switched from SAPGUI 6.40 to 7.10. I tried to activate the new ABAP editor mode but when I do it, the current screen freezes and no more action is possible from this point. My co-workers don't have this problem.
    Old editor works perfectly well.
    I'm using Windows XP SP2 with IE6.
    Does anybody have an idea ?

    I have bought  iphone 4s (s/n DX4JR3GSDTD2) sim free  and unlocked from Apple store (London, Regent street)  in 29 January 2013. Yesterday, i came back to my country , Russia , i have put my SIM card into it, however the iPhone activation were failed. I saw the message - only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may used to activate iPhone......
    I bought the phone as sim free and unlocked so is this true why i can't finish the activation of my phone?

  • Can I Activate New Phone Without Changing Plan? Smart phone to Smart Phone

    I have a Droid Incredible and while I am waiting for some new Windows Phones to come out next year, I thought I would try a Trophy for a while. Im eligible for a discount May of next year.
    I was going to get an HTC Trophy off of Ebay and use it instead of my Incredible while I wait for better Windows phones. Is this as simple as calling and activating the Trophy when I receive it and no longer using my Incredible?  Ive had the unlimited data plan since I first got the Incredible a year and a half ago. So I would expect nothing should change with my plan and this should be straight forward.
    Am I correct in this or is Verizon going to give me problems and make me change my contract?

    I would like to upgrade my son's phone, but I don't want to pay for a smart phone and a data package. All of the "basic" phones that Verizon offers now have terrible ratings (and not to mention that there aren't very many phone choices.)  I have an older blackberry, and I was thinking about letting him have that for a while and transfer the number over. Will I have to get a data plan if I give him my old blackberry?
