Can't add 2 IMAP accounts with same incoming server
I'm trying to move all my email accounts from POP to IMAP. Where I have 2 (or more) accounts on the same mail server I can't create the second account - it says the IMAP server will not connect.
I have tried adding one account then the other. Whichever I add first works and the second always fails.
Any ideas please?
Some mail servers are set to only allow a limited number of simultaneous connections from the same IP address. You need to check with admin of the mail server to increase the threshold if that is the case.
Also the server administrator would able the check system logs to see if there are any login errors.
I use apple mail and have 3 imap accounts on the same mail server functioning without issue. But I had to change a setting on the mail server to increase the max connections from the same IP. Luckily I administrate my own mail servers.

No you cannot do that.SAMAccountName must be unique within a domain.Also userPrincipalName(UPN) has to be unique within the forest

Can we have 2 Alert Configurations with same XI Server, Local&Central(CCMS)

I am looking to configure Local Alert Configuration with XI Server,
It already had CCMS Alert Configurations in place, But the solution Manager
is forwarding alerts related to all the Servers (ECC,CRM,BW,XI). It is becoming
difficult to track the alerts of XI.
So my question is is it possible to have 2 alert configurations with XI l ocal & Certral (CCMS)?.
What are the effects if we have both.
I think it is possible to maintain xi specific alerts to specific mail ID's . But basis is finiding difficult in doing this.
Let me know suggestions if you have any in this case.Yes you can have your own PI specific alerts.
You do this via ALRTCATDEF (as stated earlier)
You can edit the message header so you know if it's PI generated or if you log in as PISUPER to configure this then the sender will be PISUPER
Alternatively, why dont you ask BASIS to turn off monitoring for XI and allow you do a more fine-tuned version of this monitoring.
Or even better, dont create any local alerts but have BASIS finetune the central alerts so that the affected system is included in the subject header, also have them create roles for these systems and ensure messages are only sent to the impacted role. Blindly sending messages for all system to all system owners is really lazy config. -
I have an OS X 10.6.8 and have had problems with my mail. I have changed my account settings with my mail provider, but they suggest I now delete my account and add a new account with the same email address. Will this delete my email history? Can anyone please advise?
I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

No, your ID is essentially your account. You can have email aliases and you can have multiple accounts, but I don't think that's what you are asking. -

Multiple accounts with same email can't acces original account
ok, so i created a new skype. I was messing with skype account on my desktop and wound up unlinking and re linking the account basically i made 2 extra accounts and they have my live: random.namehere_1 and live: random.namehere_2 and i cant log into my original one anymore also when i try to do a recovery it says i have 2-3 skype accounts on my email and i cant log into my accounts by typing in the live:random.namehere and the password it just says ooops something went wrong basicallly saying the pw and account name are wrong when they arent i made sure of it. so how do i eliminate the cloned accounts and log into the main one.
Actually this morning I was able to log on the account from an iPad with no fuss but the pc refuses to sign in^^^!???! "Skype couldn't connect" - What is going on???
I also found out that I could sign in via a browser but not via skype program... So I uninstalled it and installed it again and it's working now...
I have now changed the email so I don't have 3 accounts with the same primary email as Skype seems to not being able to handle multiple accounts with same email!!! -
Have two computers. One has Thunderbird working fine. Other won't let me sign on to Thunderbird, despite ALL info being exactly the same (incoming server, outgoing server, ports, password, etc) Very frustrating. Any suggestions?
Delete your browser history,
Hold the Alt key down and type these letters TD, (or Gear symbol on the top right/ Internet options/ Delete button)
Check All of the boxes and Uncheck the very top box,
Click on Delete.
Close ie,
Reset ie9 or ie10 manually,
Click the Start button on the Taskbar,
Click on Control panel,
Click on Internet options,
Go to the Advanced section,
Click on Reset button on the bottom,
Check the box to Delete personal settings,
Use the recommended setup and install options.
Shut down your machine.

I made a test in our testing enviroment, please just add a mail account you have, when added successfully, you can choose to add a new mail account, it contains the settings for IMAP you can choose.

You can still continue to share your existing AppleID for iTunes and App Store purchases. -

I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2To expand on what Mr X said. Active Directory allows you to assign just about anything to the userPrincipalName attribute, as long as the value is unique. The value of this attribute is generally referred to as the UPN. But you could assign values with no
"@" symbol, for example, or more than one "@" symbol. Also, Active Directory does not require that any value be assigned. It is an optional attribute.
If no value is assigned to the userPrincipalName attribute, then the user can use a "default" UPN, which is <sAMAccountName>@<DNS domain name>, where <sAMAccountName> is the "pre-Windows 2000 logon" name of the user
(the value of the sAMAccountName attribute), and <DNS domain name> is the DNS name of the domain.
If a user has a value assigned to userPrincipalName that does not match this "default" form, then they can logon with either UPN, as long as no one else has either value assigned to their userPrincipalName attribute. You will note that Active
Directory enforces uniqueness in the domain on sAMAccountName values.
If in domain "domain.com" a user has a sAMAccountName of "jsmith" but userPrincipalName "[email protected]", then another user can have userPrincipalName of "[email protected]" (as long as no one else
has that value assigned to userPrincipalName). They can each logon with their assigned values for userPrincipalName. But the first user can no longer also logon with their "default" value, based on their sAMAccountName, because it is now
used by someone else. But if you attempt to assign a value to userPrincipalName that is also assigned to another user, you get an error.
Bottom line, only one person can logon with any given UPN.

I have multiple accounts with same email
The one that has all my contacts is the one attached to FB but for some odd reason I can no longer access this specific account
When I try to reset my password, it only keeps asking me to change my FB password
Once I try logging in on Skype, it keeps asking my FB to connect to the other 2 Skype accounts, completely diffente usernames
I am only interested in the one that originally connected to my FB as it has all my contacts

My old MobileMe account surfaced when I was on a support call. I didn't discover it until the case was closed. How can I replace this obsolete account with my current iCloud account?
Do you mean that you were using the Apple ID which is your ex-MobileMe address? It's still an Apple ID, even though MobileMe itself is dead, and there's nothing to stop you from using it as an ID with Support, or logging in here or in iTunes with it. You should make sure you have a functioning non-Apple email address associated with it.
Did you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before 1 August last? If so, you can set up an iCloud account using it, or if you have already set up a new and separate iCloud account you can still log in with it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars so that it runs alongside your iCloud account.
If you didn't migrate you can still reactivate the address the same way.
Anything where you've logged in with the ex-MobileMe address, such as support for something you registered using it or a server such as iTunes, will need to continue using it. -

I read the link you send me and thanks, but the thing is that I still can't get into my Adobe Id, because when I try they ask me to reset my password in an email they will send me to my old account and there is the problem, because I don't have acces to that old acount, [email protected]
now this is my new email, because the las one it was hacked and I just can't get back to it.
So I would like to have access to my account and update this new email account, to have acces to my CC account.
