Can't add a new email account to E72

Hi,
I have a Nokia E72-2 and I have configured an office account (mail for exchange), gmail and hotmail email. i also had configured a yahoo account but as it didn't work, I went o the settings and removed it.
Since that day, I have not been able to add any new account to the program. Whenever I go to add a new account I open the New mailbox, select anthing on the next screen (yahoo/gmail), it promps to enter email id and password, which i do. then there is a message "detecting email settings" and then it goes back to the screen where I selected yahoo/gmail. No new account is ever added.
Any help will be good.

with the first email id which u setup in mobile first.
thereafter u will see all ur configured accounts and option to add another.
click add another and setup mailbox which u want to setup.
now sync the email client on mobile and u will find added mailbox.

For unknown reason, I can't add any new email account, I get stuck with when I have entrered my email address and password. In fact, the system says " checking" but nothing is happening. Do you have any idea?

I finally found the reason, it was linked with my email suffix which was a shorten version. When I put the long one, my email address has been recognized. The strange things is the fact, I have set up earlier the same account in pop instead of imap without any issue. I need to fight with the server name too as my standard incoming server was not recogized on imap (no reason as it works with other system). However, I found my way and it works.

I had a family pack but now I am not able to reach my son's email account. How can I find and transfer it? Or how can I open a new email account for my son through my icloud id. Actually it seems as if there is an oprating email account under his name but e-we cannot receive any emails or cannot reach the account settings...

Each sub-account of a MobileMe Family Pack should have been individually migrated to iCloud before August 1st last. Assuming that you didn't do this, you should be able to reactivate the address (though not retrieve its previous contents) by signing in with it in System Preferences>iCloud and enabling Mail - your son should do this on his own Mac or his own user account if he is using your Mac. It's not clear whether he will be able to reactivate the @me.com version or only get an @icloud.com version. (It would be useful to know, when he tries it.)
If he did migrate the account to iCloud then signing in in the same way should retrieve the contents and the @me.com address should work.
Alternatively he can just create a new Apple ID (for which he will need a new non-Apple email address) if he doesn't already have one, and sign in with that, enabling Mail and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
You should note that in none of these cases does his account have anything to do with yours (there is no need for a Family Pack equivalent in iCloud as it's free at basic level).
You could add an email alias to your account, but it's not a good idea as it will mix his emails up with yours and he won't be able to detach it later.

Cannot add a new email account, and hence icloud account. When i go into Settings - Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud Settings ghosted (unclickable). Cannot change in itunes also.

I had the same problem with iOS 4.3 but i had no email account to create as i set both up when i bought the iPhone 4. After adding a company email and a gmail account (both wok perfectly) i noticed that the option to create more email accounts had been ghosted (unclickable). This didn't worry me at the time. However, iCloud needs me to create one in here so i can access the cloud which i desperately want the ability to do. When i go into Settings -> Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud in the iPhone Settings ghosted (unclickable). I have same problem in itunes on Mac OSX. Surely restoring isn't the solution as i restored my iphone when changing from iOS 4.3 -> 5. Please help?

General,
Restrictions, type in your Restriction Password,
Accounts, tick Allow Changes.
Press the back key a few times till you're back in Settings, you should see iCloud is now highlight able, now go to Mail Contacts and Calenders and add your email account as per norm.

Can I add my icloud email account to my phone if my phone is not an iPhone?

While these apps aren't free, if your phone is an android, you could also look into using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars to sync your iCloud contacts and calendars.

How do I add a new email account?

I installed Thunderbird today and have no email accounts set up yet. That is because by following the instructions in the help files, I was lead straight into a brick wall.
I can't find a way to insert a screenshot of the help page. It says to:
First open the Account Settings (In BOLD Tools|Account Settings). Each email or Newsgroup account
that has already been configured is listed on the left side of the Account Settings dialogue. These
accounts correspond to the top-level folders displayed in the "All Folders" list.
As said, I have no accounts set up yet and my "All-Folders" list is blank.
This is followed by a sample dialogue box showing the captions properly filled in:

Email Address: [email protected]
Password: ********
Checked Box Remember Password
Cancel Continue
Click the (BOLD) Account Settings (End Bold) button and select (BOLD) Add Mail Account.
What I actually see is a bit different. Tools|Account Settings opens another dialogue box with one button at the bottom that says Account Actions. Clicking on that button shows a drop down menu of

Add Feed Account...
Add Other Account...
Set as Default
Remove Account
Unfortunately, only the Add Chat, Feed, and Other, choices bring up another option while clicking on the Add Mail Account does absolutely nothing and that is the brick wall I mentioned. I even had a friend who has been using Thunderbird for several years could not find a way to add an Email Account. Your help will be appreciated.

I almost responded by telling you I had already done all that but decided you are trying to help and the least I can do is give it a shot. I am fairly capable around computers but I have a friend who not only works in the computer industry but has been using Thunderbird for several years.
When my problem began, I called him and we connected using TeamViewer. I recently bought a Toshiba Qosmio laptop which would not allow me to get Windows 7, I had to take Windows 8.1 (Total garbage IMHO) My friend will not install W8 and is not familiar with it.
Anyway, he tried several things to no avail and then uninstalled TBird and the Maintenance Program and reinstalled both. The problem remained.
Today, I uninstalled both again and clicked on your link. I saw immediately that it was the same place I originally installed from. I reinstalled TBird with the Maintenance Program and clicked on File|New|Existing Mail Account... and saw the same as the screenshot I posted yesterday.
After clicking on Existing Mail Account... I saw the screenshot below with no place to enter anything about my Existing Mail Accounts. Being new to TBird is one thing, but I am amazed at the similarity of what both you and my friend had to say after experiencing that 'brick wall' I mentioned in my initial post here.
If you have any other advice or instructions, bring it on, I will try anything and I appreciate your attempt to help me here.

Hello riopeltravel, let's solve this mystery! What make & model phone do you have? Also, have you tried deleting the email account off of the phone and re-adding with the username and password? How long have the email accounts stopped working? Keep us posted!

Can't add one particular email account to my curve

Hi there,
Until last week, I was able to access emails from my own domain without any problems but I had to perform a device wipe and now i am unable to add this account - the email setup produces the error "unable to your password or email address"
even addding the mail server address (both name or IP address)
I can add my google, msn and yahoo addresses no problem.
I can access the problem email via Thunderbird and also webmail.
I'm not sureif this has any bearing on things but the server is a UKHost4u server (bluelynx5.ukhost4u.com) and i am wondering if RIM would have any block on this server.
I have tried with 2 different SIM cards (tesco mobile and T-Mobile)
Anyone have any ideas or who would I be able to contact

Does icloud only work with my .me account or can I add my other email accounts?

I have been trying for a couple of days now, looking thru settings and logging in ti the cloud from multiple computers but I cant find a way to add my other e-mail accounts to my icloud. Is it realey exclusive to the apple mail account?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
iCloud will only sync your iCloud mail. It does this because it is an IMAP email account not a POP email account.
If you want other email addresses to do the same thing, contact the provider to see if they can change your email account to an IMAP account. (This is what I did)

OK, your reply started a thought: On my iPhone 4s: I have a Comcast email account (for years, on my business cards), and an iCloud account (relatively new). both are active on my iPhone, and MacBook Pro. When viewing a email on the iPhone, that came in to my Comcast email account, I am unable to save it in any of the MBP Comcast mailboxes. BUT if, while viewing the message (on the phone) I want to save, I click on the mailbox folder icon (bottom of the screen), THEN click on accounts tab at the top of the screen, it takes me to my Accounts. If I change to iCloud account, I can THEN move the email to a mailbox in the iCloud list; which seems to more accurately mirror what's on my MBP. a "work around" ?
