Can't add AD groups in ACS 5.2

I've run into an annoying issue with my ACS 5.2 install.
I can no longer add directory groups in the AD settings, the ACS comes back with "The item you  are trying to delete is referenced by other items. You must remove all references to this item before it can be deleted." but I am not deleting any group, just adding.
Could probably be cleared with removing the AD setup completely, which for obvious reasons is not something I want to do.

When you say logs have you tried to set the logging level debug on the acs and downloading the support bundle?
You can create a tac case or try to find the issue yourself by doing the following:
after logging into the cli, issue the acs-config command (you will login again but this time webgui credentials)
then issue the debug-log runtime level debug.
Reproduce the issue and download the support bundle. Check with the acsRuntime.log and see if you notice any errors.

Tarik

  • Can you add a group in LDAP as owners for a calendar?

The documentation indicates that you can create a group calendar by adding
owners to a calendar. The set_calprops
WCAP command allows you to specify
a list of owners for the calendar. However, I would like to know if there is
a way to add a group in LDAP as owners for a calendar.
    <P>
No, you cannot reference an LDAP group in this version of the iPlanet Calendar
    Server.

Has this problem been resolved in Update 3 ?
I just set up LDAP ACL with OpenLdap v 2.4.10 . Every thing work fine so far, except that I can't add a user or group by Admin Console ,
    It response this :
{color:#ff0000}for host x.x.x.x trying to POST /admingui/admingui/newUserDialog, service-j2ee reports: Exception : ADMIN3132: Error while communicating to the LDAP server: ldap://127.0.0.1:389/dc=xxx,dc=xxx,dc=xxx
    {color}
Though I can do this task in other tool . It will be good for SJSWS to support OpenLdap .

  • Can not add members to a Group as Group Administrator

    Hi,
My collegue has created a Group 'WE_PM_group' and added me to that Group with role 'Group Administrator'.
But when I connect to the 'Create Group Or Add New Members' tool, then after SSO and acknowledging the 'read and understood Beehive Online Guidelines', it does not show the 'WE_PM_group' (it shows no Groups) and I can only Create a group.
My question : how can I add members to the Group that my collegue created and for which I am Group Administrator ?
Note : When I connect to the BeehiveOnline Administration Tool, I indeed see my e-mail address within the Group 'WE_PM_group' and with the correct role (Group Administrator)
    Thanks for your help,
    Peter

If you go to the APEX app and have any group - like your Administrator - you will have a list of group - each of them is a hyperlink. Click on the group and the Group settings will be displayed - one of the fields is the Manager email. Get him/her to puit your email in that field, separated by a comma, and you are good to go.

  • Can't see calander group's or add a new group in ical 5.0 (lion)

    Help.
Can't add a new group or see my groups when i click on calander in Lion version of ical. Any idea's why?
    Thanks

Info taken from other discussion threads on Win not recognizing iPhone:
    NOT SEEN IN ITUNES:
Windows 7 uses a MTP driver instead of the USBAAPL by default, and what you need is an 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' which you might not have in 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' (check it and see).
Update the driver by expanding 'Portable Devices' from the list, right click Apple iPhone/iPhone and select 'Update Driver Software'. Then select 'Browse My computer...'
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers - then hit 'Next'.
    NOT SEEN AS CAMERA:
Open Device Manager: Right click on My Computer and select Properties from the drop down menu. This will open System Properties as shown below. System Properties opens on the General tab so you will need to click on the Hardware tab.
Remove iPhone USB Driver: called Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. We want to remove this driver by expanding the list of USB drivers which can be done by clicking the + next to Universal Serial Bus controllers. Now right click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver and select Uninstall from the drop down menu. A confirmation will require you confirm you want to remove the iPhone USB driver.Click the OK button on the pop up confirmation window which will remove the driver.
Reinstall iPhone Driver: Once the driver has been removed you should unplug the iPhone from the USB cable. To reinstall the iPhone USB driver plug it back into the USB cable and the reinstalling of the driver will start automatically. There will be numerous pop up messages displayed near the system clock in the lower right corner of your Windows desktop. Once you see the pop up message confirming that your new device is ready to use everything should be working properly again.
Verify iPhone Camera Detected: Open My Computer now to verify that the iPhone is displayed and you can click on it as you previously were able to do.

  • Can't add a new group

When I try to add a new group as per instructions, AB fails to add that group. No error messages, nothing. It does not add the group even if I delete a few old ones. Can anyone help?

Hmmm...I don't know....I wonder whether this could be a file permissions or ownership problem?
    In Terminal.app, when you type
    ls -alTk Library/Application\ Support/AddressBook
what do you get? When I type that, I get:
    drwxrw-rw- 12 jv user 408 Aug 30 09:23:46 2006 .
    drwx------ 12 jv user 408 Aug 29 21:11:26 2006 ..
    -rw-rw-rw- 1 jv user 6148 Aug 5 22:56:55 2005 .DS_Store
    -rw------- 1 jv user 10 Aug 30 09:23:46 2006 .database.lockN
    -rw------- 1 jv user 10 Aug 29 18:26:44 2006 .skIndex.ABPerson.lockN
    -rw------- 1 jv user 10 Sep 4 11:58:13 2005 .skIndex.ABSubscribedPerson.lockN
    -rw------- 1 jv user 147456 Aug 21 22:36:20 2005 ABPerson.index
    -rw------- 1 jv user 139264 Aug 29 18:26:44 2006 ABPerson.skIndexInverted
    -rw------- 1 jv user 6144 Sep 4 11:58:13 2005 ABSubscribedPerson.skIndexInverted
    -rw------- 1 jv user 942735 Aug 30 09:08:48 2006 AddressBook.data
    -rw------- 1 jv user 139361 Aug 17 18:19:33 2006 AddressBook.data.previous
    -rw-r--r-- 1 jv user 92 Aug 28 20:12:42 2006 LastImport.plist
Are you seeing similar permissions ("-rw-------", etc.) on all your corresponding files of the same names (AddressBook.data, etc.)? Are they showing the same owner and group as the top two "." and ".." entries (in my case, jv and user -- will be different for you)?

  • Can I add a caller DURING a group call?

I am aware that if someone calls me with Skype during a group call, I can bring them into the group right away by simply accepting their call.  However, how does one make it work in the other direction?  When I am on a group call, and the group decides it would like to bring a non-group member in, how is that done?  Steve112

While on a call you can use the "add call" or "Contacts" buttons to get to the Contacts app.  You can then add a new contact or add or edit numbers in existing contacts.  (If the keypad is showing, press "hide" to see the other buttons.)  Press the green bar at the top of the screen to return to the phone screen.  If you are not using the headset, you can switch to speakerphone first, so you can talk while doing this.
If you want to use another app while on the phone, press the home button, then choose the app.  It won't disconnect the call.  If you have a CDMA carrier (Sprint, Verizon) you won't be able to use cellular data while on a call.

  • How can point single user to multiple groups in ACS

    Hi,
we are having almost 150 NDG groups in my ACS Server, in that one group is specifically for Security devices like pix & ASA's.
Now My requirement is that i want to Restrict this Security NDG group to one Specific Group under Group setup menu in ACS.
is it possible in ACS Server.
If it possible how can i point multiple multiple groups to single user.
Because not all users required access to this Security NDG group. only few users require the access.

Give a read to how NAR works, then apply it to the security group on ACS.

  • Can not add Domain User to Local Admin Group Win8.1

    Hello,
I am trying to add a domain user to the local admin account on a Win8.1 Enterprise computer. When I click the check name button it asks me to enter network credentials even though I am signed in to the computer with a domain admin account. When I try to
type in any of my domain admin accounts it says "The Username or Password is incorrect". Even though I used that same account to login with. I can successfully ping all 3 of my DCs from the computer and have tried putting my second DC as the primary
DNS and my third DC as the primary DC and same problem. I have checked for Active Directory errors on the DC and everything says it is running fine on the DC in server manager. I have this problem on multiple computers. Some of the computers it will work on
but 90% of them it won't allow me to add the local user to the local admin group.
DCs are running Win Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

I would suggest you to use Restricted Group(via GPO) to add domain users/group to a local admins group
1)Create a new group in Active Driectory
Create a new group in Active Driectory that you wish to add to every workstations local administrator group. DO NOT add any users to this group at this time.
    2.
    Create a new GPO
Create a new group policy object and link it to the desired OU. Make sure that the GPO you are using covers the OU that the WORKSTATIONS you are wanting to give users local administrative rights over.
    3.
    Edit the newly created GPO
Navigate within the newly created GPO to Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings --> Restricted Groups
    4.
Add your new Active Directory group to the Restricted Group
Right-click the Restricted Groups folder and select "Add Group" to add your new Active Directory group to the Restricted Group. In the Group field, type the name of the newly created Active Directory group and click "OK"
    5.
Add the Restricted Group to the local administrator group
In the Restricted Group Properties windows click "Add" under the section titled "This group is a member of:" Type "Administrators" (without the quotes and yes it is plural), in the Group Membership window and click "OK"
    6.
Wait for GPO updates to apply to the workstations
Once your users receive their updated group policy settings every workstation within the OU you specified will have your new Active Directory group as a member of the local administrators group. If you need to force the GPO update on a specific workstation,
run "gpupdate /force" in a command window on that workstation.
    7.
Add a user or group of users to the Active Directory Restricted Group
When you are ready, or in a position where you need to provide local workstation admin rights you can simply add the users or group of users to the Active Directory group that you created for use with Restricted Groups within your Active Directory Management
    Console.
