Can't add music to iPhone 5s and songs not deleting off phone

Tried restarting phone several times and this has not resolved the issue.
I have deleted a bunch of music off of my phone... when I plug into iTunes, the songs do not show in iTunes but remain on my phone... also when I try to add new music - it won't add the songs(not even in a grayed out state) the file icon just sort kicks back as if iTunes is laughing at me, saying "NOPE! Not today, son!"
'had this issue a few weeks ago and it seemed to resolve itself magically... now it's happening again. Very frustrating.

Also, just updated the phone's software today, and iTunes' software is already up to date.

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

  • HT1420 Can I add music to my iPod that woz not bought from iTunes?

Can I add music to my iPod that woz not bought on iTunes?

Yes. Import it into the iTunes library, convert it if needed, and sync the iPod with that iTunes library.
iTunes will not import or convert protected WMA or WMV content.

  • Can't add musics to Iphone 4

Hi, since i've updated my iTunes to 11.0.4 i just can't add musics to my iphone 4. I can add everything else, and that makes me think if something changed when it comes to adding music to the iphone. With my ipad i don't have this problem, i add musics and delete them with no problems, but when it comes to my iphone, i try to sync the library, i try to add them manually but all my tries are unsuccessful.
Does anyone have the same problem?
    Cheers

    Try a
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

  • Upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2.12 and now I can't add music to iPhone 4.3.2

I recently upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2.12 and now cannot add music to my iPhone (4.3.2 sw). Really would prefer not to uninstall iTunes and re-initialize my library if I can avoid it. If I try to drag one song to my phone, it highlights my phone but won't actually add it. If I select several songs to drag onto my phone, it shows the invalid icon (circle w/ line through it). I can still add songs to my iPod touch.
    Anyone else seen this?

  • Can't add music to iphone

Help! I have a 3G iPhone. I have some music on it, but I can't add any more. I have it set up to manually manage music and ring tones. Any suggestions? I'm using a MacBook Pro and have the latest software on all devices.

Roamingnome just helped me find an obvious solution... that I was not aware of.
The "Manage music manually" box is on the 'Summary' page of your Iphone in Itunes, NOT under the "Music" tab.
If that sounds completely condescending, I don't mean it to be. I spent two hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get music on my Iphone until I looked at the "Summary" page. I would have expected a button like that to be under the Music tab.
I'm interested to know if you ever got it worked out some other way. Let me know.

  • Can't add music to iPhone 5 from iTunes 11

I am trying to manually add music to my iPhone 5 from iTunes 11. After dragging and dropping music onto the device, it appears under the music section of the device, except it is greyed out. I can't play the music, and when I check on the phone, the music isn't there.

    I figured it out...
Go to the playlist on your computer that you want to add to your device.
    1. Hightlight the song so you see the arrow and click on it.
    2. Click "Add To" and select the device and playlist you want to add it to.
You may have to create a new playlist on the device first and THEN add the music from your computer to the device.
Or highlight all the songs, right-click on the selection, and tell it to add to the playlist on the device...

  • New Computer can't add music to iPhone

I have an iPhone 4 and last year bought a new Macbook Pro Retina. I just tried adding some new music to my iPhone and it won't let me unless I delete everything off of it! This is insane. Is there any way around this crap? The retina doesn't fit all my old music, so all it has is 2 new albums I put on there. I don't want to have to dig through hard-drives to find music to put back on the iPhone after it deletes everything.
It is so frustrating to deal with Apple intentionally limiting features when you just gave them an extra $3-4,000 for a new computer. Completely unacceptable.

"I just tried adding some new music to my iPhone and it won't let me unless I delete everything off of it! "
Correct.  It has always been this way Iphone will sync with one and only one computer at a time. Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content.

  • Music in iPhone 4 and iTunes not in sync.  Have 2000 songs on iPhone that iTunes does not know about.

I have an iPhone 4.  I recently moved to a new laptop.  I have about 2000 songs stuck on my iPhone that iTunes does NOT recognize.  I've tried several things.  I've went back and forth between "manually manage music and videos." I've checked/unchecked Sync Music.  I've checked/unchecked playlists, artists, etc.  At this point, iTunes doesn't think I have any music on my iPhone EXCEPT for the Capacity.  The Capacity seems to be right. At this point, without deleting every artist individually and manually, I'd like to delete the 2000 songs and start over.  Any tips?

Updating is not suppose to wipe any media or apps.
It may happen because sometimes things just go wrong.
I would back everything up first.

  • Can't add music to iphone 4s on iOS 7 from mac

I've added some music in a playlist, it appears on the iphone, but only a list of music names, not the the music. How should this be resolved?
    Thanks.

It doesn't work if you just click on the Sync button on the main iphone device page.
Resolved by going to menu File->Device->Sync iphone.

  • Had 3G, moved to 3GS.  Backed up 3G and restored 3GS from backup with no problem.  When I want to add songs, I get itunes message that the new iphone is synced to another computer and now wants to erase everything.  How can I add music?

Had 3G, moved to 3GS.  Backed up 3G and restored 3GS from backup with no problem on a Dell computer.  But now when I want to add songs, I get itunes message of death that the new iphone is synced to another computer and now wants to erase everything.  How can I add music without erasing everything on my new iphone?

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me.  Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

  • I recently purchased a new laptop and have some music on it that I would like to add to my iphone. And vice versa so I can sync them.  What is the best way?

I recently purchased a new laptop and have some music on it that I would like to add to my iphone. And vice versa so I can sync them.  What is the best way?

    iDevices are not backup devices.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer, then sync the device to the computer.
Attempts to sync the device to the new computer will remove all content from the device and replace it with content from the new computer/library.

  • When I connect my iPhone (5s) to my computer it says that it's storage is full and that I have over 4,000 pictures even though I have deleted all of them. It won't allow me to add music or anything else either because it says my phone is full.

It won't allow me to add music or anything else either because it says my phone is full. I have restarted my phone and the computer multiple times, but it still tells me that my phone is full.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

  • Old laptop stolen, can't add music from new laptop to iPhone

Basically, my old laptop was stolen out of my car, so bought a new one. I've put all my backed up music onto my new laptop, but can't add music from my new laptop to my iPhone. I've deauthorised my old laptop and authorised my new one, but iTunes wont let me drag music across into my iPhone. What do I need to do to add music to the phone?
