Can't add SonyEricsson W800i to isync devices?

When I try and add my W800i to isync devices via bluetooth it finds the device but says "This device is not supported by iSync"
The W800i is listed as a compatible device with iSync.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
PowerBook G4 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Try to pair it first. If you've done that already, delete the device from isyc and/bluetooth system preferences and pair again.
Had the same problem and that solved it. Now sync is perfect.
good luck,

  • Can't add my Palm in iSync

    Hi,
if you are not using English as your default language, you may check the thread "iSync Conduit not visible in HotSync Conduit Manager" (last posts) - the mentioned workaround may help you, eventually...

  • Can't add my e815 to iSync

I just got a new Moto e815 (specifically b/c it is supposed to be supported by iSync). When I add a new device, iSync sees the e815, but says it is not supported.
    Any ideas?

The Motorola E815 mobile handset was not initially supported by iSync 2, which if you are running Mac OS X 10.4.2, you are probably using. The answer: upgrade to at least Mac OS X 10.4.3 and iSync 2.1 to get support for your handset. [Current releases are Mac OS X 10.4.5 and iSync 2.1.1] Applying the Mac OS X 10.4.3 Combo updater will achieve both objectives, or you can update iSync 2 to 2.1 alone, as 2.1 requires only Mac OS X 10.4 to install.
Although these additional issues are not related to iSync, you should be aware of them if your handset is supplied by Verizon: You will not be able to transfer files to and from it as the OBEX profile is not supported, nor will you be able to use it to connect your computer to the internet, as it is a V CAST device and that technology is not compatible with the DUN profile.

  • Can not add nokia 6670 to isync after 10.4.7

with 10.4.6 it worked. Pairing no problem and also Adressbook was accessible. In 10.4.7 I can pair the phone with the mac, but only isync and internet acces are mentioned in the bluetoothe connection assistent.
when I open isync and trying to add a new device, it finds the phone with a "yellow button", but says it cannot add it because it canot esatblish a connection.
Does anyone have this problem, too?
    thanks,
    wolf

    It did not work.
Deleted all the pairing. Paired again. (Adressbook
support was not mentioned again, only isync)
Restarted macbook and nokia. Tried to add it to isync
again. Isync said it can not connect to the Nokia
    (yellow dot)
Not I don't know what else to do. It seemed to work
    under 10.4.6.
    Weird!

I have the same phone, a Mac Pro and an old G4 and am having the same problem and I know why. There are two versions of the Nokia 6670: a Nokia 6670 and a Nokia 6670b... we have the 6670b and it isn't supported by iSync.
On older versions of iSync, you could hack iSync to see the 6670b as a 6670 by adding a few lines of code but it doesn't work on the latest versions of iSync. On my old G4, I kept the last iSync version that worked, out of the Application folder to use and din't use the updated iSync in the Application folder that get's updated on every OS updates and security updates.
Now, zoom forward to last week when I got my Mac Pro... The UB iSync cannot be hacked and the old PowerPC iSync that worked won't work on the Mac Pro. So I need to remote control my old G4 and sync it with my phone, then sync the two computers. A serious PITA!

  • Can't add device

I am trying so hard to read and search all forums before posting...
    Regarding this post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=672048&#672048
I think my conduits are set perfectly.
I can't add a device now. I have scanned, still nothing.
My T|E has not synced since my accidental hard re-set.
I have: re-installed iSync 2 from my original Mac OS X 10.4 Install using Pacifist, then updated it to iSync 2.3 using Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo updater.
Everything looks good, except I can't add a device.

This is often an indication that your iSync Palm Conduit—simply labeled Apple, in the Finder—is installed in a unique, non-standard folder located here:
    Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync
Usually, four folders appear at that level. They are named: Conduits, Disabled Conduits, Notifiers and Transports.
If a fifth folder labeled iSync Disabled Conduits appears, move its contents into the Disabled Conduits folder and discard the now empty iSync Disabled Conduits folder.
Your iSync Palm Conduit should be installed in the folder labeled Conduits. You may instead find that the iSync Palm Conduit is installed in a folder with another label, often a set of Japanese language characters. Move it from any such non-standard folder and into the active Conduits folder, discard the now empty non-standard folder, then launch the HotSync Manager or use the HotSync menu in the Palm Desktop to configure the conduit, and synchronize.

  • MacBookPro:Can you add firewire drive & video device at same time?

I want to buy a MacBook Pro 15" to edit on FCP and FCXpress, but i am concerned that there is only one Firewire Bus (and plug). I have a Canopus AVC 100 and an external firewire 400 drive and want to use both at the same time. I have always been told that you have been told you can not add a firewire video input source or a hard drive on the same firewire bus. The internal drive is not big enough for my projects and I want to capture directly to the external drive. I have been looking at several solutions, such as adding an ExpressCard-ePCI to give me an additional Firewire Bus. (The FireWire 800 addition would also be a bonus.) Are the two Firewire ports (400 & 800)on the 17" MacBook Pro on the same bus (resolving this problem)? I am looking to see what other editors are doing to solve this issue?

You shouldn't have any problems either
I field dozens of questions each week with issues on desktops and laptops due to the single FW bus limitation.
Glad it works for you, but please don't assume it will work in all configurations.
Some cams and FW devices do not play well together.
For less than $80.00 you can get a ExpressCard/34 firewire card.
I believe it's a good investment, particularly for the high overhead in FCS 5.1.

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation issue - no longer able to view Device in iTunes?  I can't add, Sync, Back Up or Restore?

The PC’s I use have Windows 7 installed along with the latest version of iTunes.  I have
previously deleted all components of iTunes and re-installed.  This made no difference. The PC’s do not recognise my iPod in the Windows Device Manager using ‘devmgmt.msc’.  and still nothing in iTunes.
    Also C:\Program files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers / - do notlist ‘usbaapl64’.
The folders listed are ‘usbaapl.cat’, ‘usbaapl.inf’,‘usbaapl.sys’ and ‘usbaaplrc.dll’.
Whether this makes a difference I do not know.
iTunes doesn’t recognise my iPod either however it recognises my attached iPhones OK
(iTunes/File/Devices) with the options of Sync; Transfer Purchases and Back Up being available.
When my iPod is connected, iTunes shows the File ‘Devices’ sections as being inaccessibly greyed out.
So to reiterate, I have tried multiple computers and a variety of Windows operating systems (but I’m running Windows 7) with absolutely no success; the ‘Device Manager/Universal Serial Bus controllers/Apple Mobile Device USB Driver’ appears with my iPhone but nothing for my iPod; the Apple Mobile Device Support is installed;  all my USB cables work OK; the device does not appear in Windows or in iTunes; iTunes has been fully uninstalled and reinstalled; the version of iTunes is up to date; the iOS of the iPod Touch shows it is up to date at version 6.1.6 (and cannot be changed) and even a hard reset has been tried.  Everything tried and suggested with complete failure.
I can use a USB port to charge up my iPod and can still receive e-mails, updates to apps and can play songs but I can’t add any new songs or update iOS.  There are no error codes because as far as the computer and/or iTunes is concerned, there is no connected iPod. My iPod used to work perfectly.   Also I tried the Apple iPod forum without success and was advised to try the iTunes community support.
    Please help!  Thank you.

I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. After the update my iPod synched and wiped all my music off - apps & podcasts weren't affected. Restored it a couple of times and that didn't work.
I tried copying a couple of albums over and it would do a couple of songs then the rest of the album would look like it had copied instantly. I tried playing the songs and it would play the first couple of songs once, then it came up with ! Beside every song (including the ones I'd just played and said they weren't on my iPod.
I've removed iTunes from my laptop and downloaded the few iTunes bought albums over WiFi to my iPod. The rest of my music is from cds or mixes/podcasts downloaded from soundcloud so I've had to use a different program to copy some of this music to my iPod for the time being until I can see how to sort this out.

Correct.  When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box.  This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands.  It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.
10.6 software is not downloadable.  You must purchase a DVD disc.  You can order it from the on-line apple store

  • I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my computer that just bit the dust...If I don't replace the computer, can I still add stuff to these two devices?

I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my PC and basically managed my photos and music, etc. from there.  However recently my computer died and I am considering replacing it with an ipad eventually.  Can I still add stuff onto my two devices?  And if so, am I limited to apple store purchases only?  Can I retain all the photos and non-apple store downloaded music that is presently on these two devices?  Any guidance in this area will be very welcome!

You have to have enabled Find My iPhone on your phone before it was lost in order for it to be located.  If you did, you could play a loud two minute sound on it even if it was on slient, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f19b5.
