Can't add webmail to iphone 3GS

Question

I have been trying unsuccessfully to add my work email to my iphone. I am able to access webmail from my iphone using safari.
To logon with webmail I go to my company outlook webmail website eg: https:\\mail.mywork.ca
Then log on with my username: JSmith
and password ******
No problem
BUT when I try to add the mail to my iphone (in settings, add account, microsoft exchange), I am unable to connect. Here is what I've tried
email: [email protected]
domain: mywork
username: jsmith
password: ***
server: https://mail.mywork.ca
I get message "exhange account verification failed"
I've tried a bunch of different combinations for the server (after spending hours searching for solutions):
mail.mywork.ca
mail.mywork.ca/exchange
https://mail.mywork.ca
Can anyone help me find a solution?

I venture to say it is not.
RIM has not licensed ActiveSync from Microsoft for use with a Blackberry as Apple has done for the iPhone and with Snow Leopard on a Mac.
RIM has a dedicated email delivery service for the Blackberry with your company using Blackberry Enterprise Service on the Exchange Server for Blackberry access, which costs your company extra on an annual basis. ActiveSync doesn't cost your company anything extra, which is included with Exchange Server software.
Not sure why you don't want to involve the IT Dept. unless you are trying to sneak this by, which is impossible. Unless it is against company policy to access a company Exchange account via ActiveSync with a personal device or with a personal computer at home, this shouldn't be a problem. You must involve the IT Dept. to ensure that ActiveSync is enabled at the Exchange Server for your account.
