Can't adjust color in placed image layer?

I used File > Place to bring in some images, which are now layers. I want to adjust the colors of the layers but in Image > Adjustments everything is grayed out (except Shadows and HDR). The original layer allows full adjustments. The images I placed are .psd files. I tried flattening one of the images but that didn't fix the problem. If I open the original files I can make full adjustments. What should I do?

Those layers are smart objects, which can't be edited directly. Three options:
1. Rasterize the layer to turn it into a normal layer (Layer > Smart Object).
2. Use adjustment layers clipped to the layer you want to adjust.
3. Open the smart object by double-clicking the layer thumbnail, do your edits and resave it.

I never tried importing from the iPhoto library as referenced images. I wonder if Aperture can access images stored in an iPhoto library package? Even if it would work, it sounds like a bad thing to do.
You might consider starting over and this time have Aperture manage the images. That will copy them to the Aperture library, leaving the iPhoto library untouched. This assumes you have sufficient space to make a complete copy of all the images in your iPhoto library plus another copy of each image that Aperture makes as the preview image. You can then back up your iPhoto library (two backup copies, just to be sure) then remove it from your hard drive when you start getting too low on space. As I write this I don't know where your iPhoto or Aperture libraries are/will be located so I'm assuming you have them on your HD.

Adding color to placed image

In InDesign CS3, I'm placing Photoshop grayscale and bitmap images (logos) that I want all to be a certain cmyk color. I don't see any provision to do so in the Swatches palette. What tool can do this? Thank you.

ID will recognize a clipping path in a .psd, as well as an alpha channel and transparent layers. Using the native file allows you to use layer comps in ID as well as turn layers on or off inidvidually so one file can be used in multiple ways, and you save space since you don't need both the native and eps versions. There can be other issues at output with eps, like generation of plates you don't expect, since ID cannot manipulate the file in the same way it can deal with the native formats (no print to composite gray, for example, on a color eps). If working in Photoshop and you also need vector informatyion inthe file, save as Photoshop PDF rather than .psd (and change the extension to .pdp so ID knows to edit original in Photoshop), and place that in ID to preserve the vector content.

Can I adjust color channels individually?

In photoshop, if I have a photograph and want to select the color green, I get out my magic wand and select the color green. I can control the amount of selection by adjusting the wand settings.
Can i do anything like that in FCPro?
If I have video footage of a woman wearing a white dress standing in a field of grass (but the grass is a little too brown because it's almost winter here in Texas) can I just adjust the green channel of the grass and make it more green without affecting the green in the dress and skin of the woman?
I've been playing around with the 3 way color filter but it adjust everything on the screen. I just want to adjust certain items.

Photoshop has much better selection tools than FCP. You'll want to layer your clip and then put a mask over what you do not want to color. apply the rgb balance (I think there are some other channel filters but I'm not remembering and can't look at the moment) and then tweak away on the green channel.
for a bit more control, apply the 3 way and then finagle the limiter to what you want.

I can't adjust the duration of iMovie videos and images with precision on iPhone. It gets back at 0,3 seconds.

During my iMovie project, after 2 minutes. I can't adjust the length of images or videos with precision as normal. If I sweep it a little bit, it gets to 20 or more minutes. Can you help me out?

I am a recent convert from Apple Aperture, where one can brush adjustment masks onto an images highlights, mid tones, or shadows individually. Can this be done in Lightroom? It makes adjustments around trees, for instance, so easy to do precisely...

The answer to your question is:
No. (masking based on specified tonal range(s) is not supported).
And, yes - auto-masking brush is tone-sensitive and will mask, to some extent, based on tone (also color, I think, and who knows what else.. - it doesn't work very well in my opinion).

Adjusting color in part of an image in a photo.

Hi, just bought Photoshop CC and am stuck. I just received a photo of my uncle that was taken through the glass of the frame it was in. The right side of his face is lighter than the rest of his face. How do I adjust this color? You can also see some lightening of the lower right portion of his hat. Other issues have been corrected. Can an Image Layer be opened in Photoshop?

There are instances where images in a PDF need to be color corrected.
Once all images are placed a layer can the layer be opened in PS for corrections?
There are times when there are 40-50+ images in a PDF. Opening each individually is not possible.

PDF "layers" are absolutely not the same as layers in Creative Suite applications. They are merely lists of things on a page marked as "optional" - hence their correct name "optional content groups" or OCGs. Opening a PDF in Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. will not respect OCGs.

From your question, I assume you know how to do it for all persons :
Menu : Enhance/Adjust color/adjust color for skin tones
So what you have to do is to do the color correction on a layer copy. Concentrate on the person to enhance and ignore the rest of the picture.
When you are satisfied, add a mask to the layer copy and fill it with black.
Set your foreground color to white
In the layer palette, click on the mask icon on the right of the layer icon.
Then use a brush to paint white on the skin of the person to reveal the correction.

you can apply color threshold and extract the required color in the image. Try color threshold in vision assistant.

How can I change the color of interactive image label box background.

Interactive image labels are a bit overwhelming in appearance. Can I change the label background color or make it partially transparent? I have tried several things and looked this up on Lynda.com training but no info.

don't know how much this might help but you can change some colors using the Inspector as follows:
from the text menu you can control paragraph and character colors, from the text menu you can control the text color.

Hmmm, I wonder if that window is hidden or off screen? Have you moved the pic window around to look under it?
Might try this...
Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...

The requirement that you have stated is not a standard feature in ISA CRM. In order to do the same, you will need to modify the standard ISA code in Java. A common path for the solution would be as follows:
1. Colours
    a. Maintain a text type for Color under the object - PCAT_ITM in Customizing.
    b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search within your new text type as well. (In standard it only searches in Description.
   c. Maintain all shirts colour data in the new type created in step a.
   d. Your requirement will be done!
2. Price
a. Use list prices for your shop and assign the appropriate condition type, acces in your catalog.
b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search on the list prices as well.
c. This too will be done!
3. Accessories - This is very tricky, and will require some exploration. However, here's my opinion,
a. Search for the standard function module, which will return the accessories when provided the product as an input.
b. Modify this function module according to your requirement and ensure that it can be accessed remotely.
c. Modify the JSP as in steps 1b and 2b above to call this new remote-enabled function module.
d. Now you're done!!
The ISA modification part is not so simple, you need a really good guy like "Sateesh Chandra" who'll be able to handle your requirements. This is all I could manage, hope it is some help to you!

Help! I can't get rid of background in placed images

I have placed images that fade to 0%cmyk. When I print I can see the rectangle of the image box rather than 0%.
Any suggestions?

if you are doing ths with a gradient filled opacity mask the it s to be expected as the very last step in the gradient is 100% of white o black!.
What I did was create a rectangle the height of the image plus some of top and bottom.
Then gave it a ample feather
then positioned it half over the edge that should fade to zero selected the Masked image and the blurred Rectangle
then selected both the opacity masked image and the feathered rectangle
then made an opacity masked of that as well
