Can't adjust the alarm volume

Why is it that the alarm volume does not change if you change the phone volume setting on the 1-30 scale. The alarm volume level is insanely loud, and s always the same whether you phone volume setting is on 1 or 30.
It would be very nice if the volume of the alarm could be changed as well as currently it scares the s..t out of me every morning when it goes off.

Currently there is no way to adjust the volume of the alarm clock sound. Even with GDR2 installed.
All i can suggest is for you to choose an alarm sound that isn't so disturbing.
I do agree though that the ability to adjust the alarm volume should be there along with the ability to have separate volume controls for other aspects of the phone's sound system.

    Hello, Miryam Maria.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I see you are experiencing issues with sound on applications when playing video/audio content.  If this is the case, the first thing I would check is if the side switch is set to silent as this can cause applications to be mute.  Below I have included an article that covers adjusting the  settings for the side switch.  Also, make sure to close all applications in Multitasking and power cycle the device.  Test the sound issue after processing these steps.

  • When adjusting the audio volume in a selected region, why does it give me a curved line instead of straight and why cant I change it like i can with a fade in our out?

When adjusting the audio volume in a selected region, why does it give me a curved line as a transition instead of straight, and why cant I change the fade shape like i can with a fade in our out? When I slide thet volume all the way down it makes a very abrupt down curve. It's audibly noticdible.
    Thank you.

Use the range selection tool and select the portion of the clip you want to change the volume on. Drag the volume line down and FCP will create keyframes which you can adjust as you want to get a fade shape.

    1. Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.

  • Help! Can't adjust the volume of my ipad 2 - volume button not appearing

Hi. My ipad has no sound - especially when playing music. The volume button is just broken (not the one on the side but on the music app itself) - I can't adjust the volume, the round thing to adjust it is just gone, and it's just gray and no sound at all. But when I ask Siri/adjust the ringer, there's still a sound. So I don't really get it.
Even when I plug in the earphones, there's still no sound and I still can't adjust the volume
The volume buttongs on the side doesn't do anything
    I tried reseting my ipad

  • Is there any function to automatically adjust the voice volume in the multitrack

I'm trying to mix voice sounds and music files into one track. Sounds easy! But almost every music has its loud parts(for example the climax) and quiet parts. Therefore when i listen to the voice and the music at the same time, the voice files are sometimes relatively too quiet and sometimes to loud. I don want to adjust the volume pan one part after another because I have a lot of files to mix. Could you tell me is there any function I can use to automatically adjust the voice volume to make it always 'just a bit higher than the music'? Or can I read some documents about this problem?
    Thank you very much!

Sounds like you want to do what is called "ducking" & "side chaining".
First try using a compressor and or limiter on the voice tracks to get a more even volume.
Google: Audio Ducking tons of stuff on how to.
I myself have never tried this with Audition, or the compressors that come with it. I have done it in other multitrack software and older versions of Dave Browns Compressor.

  • I am unable to adjust the Master volume in the Audio MIDI Setup utility.

For either built-in Input or Output. The systems effected are:
    MacBook Pro, 13-inch, Mid 2012 (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 11E2617).
    iMac, 20-inch, Mid 2007 (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 11E53).
The volume can otherwise be adjusted via the Sound sytem preferences or the volume control in the Finder's menu bar. I can even adjust the volume for the individual channels for Buil-in Input and Output within Audio MIDI Setup. It is only the Mater volume that can't be adjusted.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this might be? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I have Iphone4s 16GB, IOS7.0.4 updates having a problem , that when i press + or - volume keys while my iphone is ringing my iphone 4s goes silent .
Whereas you know silent key is used to make the ringing phone silent. This button is working ok while only problem is my iphone goes silent while pressing + or - volume keys as these keys should increase / lower the ringing volume . These keys were ok working in IOS 6.
Where as these keys are also working ok  in music player of iphone for IOS 7, the only problem is for ringing.

  • Is there a way to pre-set the alarm volume on iPhone?

Is there a way to pre-set the alarm volume on iPhone? Every evening I have to remember to adjust the volume to 3 bars, versus full volume during the day.

I cannot believe this problem hasn't been rectified yet!
If I use the pre installed ringtone as an alarm and set it low so I don't jump out of my skin, then my call volume is too low the next day, so have to change it.
If I use a song as an alarm, I have the same problem, but its when I watch a video. I set it quiet, then jump out of my skin the next morning if I've left it tuned up after watching YouTube. Also works the other way if I've watched a video with the sound down, and forget to turn it back up, then I don't hear my alarm, which makes me late!
It could also do with an ascending volume option, so it starts nice and quiet to wake you gradually. My old phones from pre iPhone days had these features and they worked great.
Surely this isn't that much of an issue to sort out. Yet I've seen posts back as far as 2006 complaining about it.
Come on apple pull your finger out!

  • Is there a way to adjust the speaker volume through Settings?

My up volume button is jammed and broken, and I'm running ios 7.0.4 on an iphone 4s.  I can adjust the ringer volume through settings, and music volume through the interface, but on a speaker phone call, how can I turn up the volume?
Is there a way through settings?
    Thank you!

It doens't. Music volume on Full, headphone volume on full, ringer volume on full, speaker volume on really really quiet.

  • How can I increase the bluetooth volume?

I use a bluetooth device to send audio to my hearing aids. However, the iPad bluetooth signal is very low in the available audio dynamic range.  Consequently, the volume level at my hearing aids is very low. I have adjusted the iPad volume control to maximum; but it's not enough.
Any suggestions? It is purely a software issue that Apple could adjust.

I can't say it is a software problem or not. Last week i purchased iPad2 from Stanford Shopping Center. Its really cool. No Bluetooth problems but the person who explains me the uses and fuctions of  my iPad2 told me that you need iTunes software to use bluetooth perfectly. You can download iTunes directly from apple website but for download it will ask you your credit card number or iTune gift card $15.
Try Install iTunes and see if it helps you hope i should.

  • How can I change the alarm ring sound?

I had to reboot my entire iPhone system yesterday, and now I can't figure out how to change the sound or the volume of the alarm, neither in the manual nor on the phone. Thanks in advance.

To change the sound associated with an alarm, when setting the alarm, go to the Sound area and select your sound from there. You can set an individual sound for each alarm. The alarm volume is the same as the ringer volume. Set it when the phone is awake in the home screen, you can set it with the volume buttons on the side of the phone.

  • Why I am unable to adjust the ringer volume by the side buttons and there is no ringer with the Mute button OFF

With the mute switch OFF - I am unable to adjust the ringer volume by the side buttons.
When someone calls/texts there is no sound coming from the speaker.
The headphone jack works when I listen to the Ipod and the speaker works when I change the ringer volume through settings.  So i know that the speaker does work
Headphone jack seems clean and dust free
I heard that there may be a Skype issue than can control the speaker volume - so i deleted it but i still cannot get any sound from regular functions.
When I play the Ipod through the speaker with no headphones there is no option to change the volume and no sound.
If it works when i go through settings to set my ring volume, my ringtone plays - then why does it not work otherwise?

I have Iphone4s 16GB, IOS7.0.4 updates having a problem , that when i press + or - volume keys while my iphone is ringing my iphone 4s goes silent .
Whereas you know silent key is used to make the ringing phone silent. This button is working ok while only problem is my iphone goes silent while pressing + or - volume keys as these keys should increase / lower the ringing volume . These keys were ok working in IOS 6.

  • Any way to avoid adjusting the ring volume?

Any way to avoid adjusting the ring volume? Don't know how but after using the phone for a day or two, the ring volume is adjusted. Is it because I adjust the volume of iPod or other apps. Is there a way to fix the ring volume at a constant level and won't be changed until actually changing the ring volume setting itself?
    Anyone?
    Thanks
    Gaston

The ring volume is seperate from the iPod or 3rd party apps volume. You can have these at seperate levels. As a test, I made sure the ringer volume is at 100%. I started playing a song and lowered the iPod volume to 50%. I stopped the song and checked the ringer volume which remained at 100%.
There is no lock setting for this. If you adjust the volume when not using the iPod or when not playing a 3rd party app, it will adjust the ringer volume.
