The Creative Decoder DDTS-100 is a digital decoder that will turn any 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 powered speaker system into an advanced digital home theater. It incorporates the latest digital technologies from Dolby® and DTS®, including Dolby Pro Logic® II and DTS Neo:6, which will create 5.1 or 6.1 surround sound from stereo input (from games, music or movies).
The DDTS-100 accepts up to seven selectable input sources to support every device in the living room. It has great extra features like dual headphone jacks and Dynamic Mode (for late-night listening, reducing the volume difference between the loud parts and the quiet parts). And it also comes with a switch box to allow you to connect the decoder and a PC with a 5.1/6.1/7.1 sound card to the same speaker system.

Thanks for the input; you are all correct - especially Gig - in that FCS is a significant upward change. I have used it, purchased it for some schools and kick myself every day i didn't get the 199 update info in time. i know they offered it for a while, but I was changing residences and missed out. I begged Apple to make an exception, but they refused. It's business. Truthfully, i need to just suck it up and get the FCS and yes - more gigs, Gig!
For now, live with my woes...most of work currently is done through a day job in the business, so my side businesses are not the priority any way. As you said G, I am sure I could make it back fairly quickly...
So quit whining, BH Weber!
Thanks as always guys...

If out of warranty and mechanically inclined, you can get parts and how-to at www.ifixit.com.
The 4 Series are relatively easy to open and service, I've replaced batteries on two 4s.  The 5 Series are a nightmare.

  • Can you use time capsule for your mac and have readynas backup your pc's on the same network

Can you use time capsule for your mac and use readynas to back up your pc's on the same network

Sure, that is trivial setup.. they both have different names and IP addresses.
You should be able to use ReadyNas for TM backup but you should check the latest state of play for that.

  • How can I create digital signatures for my users using Windows 2008 Active Directory Certificate Services?

    Hi,
I need to create local digital signatures for my users. How can I do that using W2k8 Active Directory Certificate Services? We are gonna sign Office 2010 documents.
What company offers cheap digital signatures solutions?
    Thanks in advanced

    Consider the following:
if you use your local CA server to issue digital signature certificates, there is no cost, because you are eligible to issue so many certificates as you need. However, documents signed by these certificates will be considered trusted only within your AD
forest and other machines that explicitly trust your local CA. Any external client will not trust your signatures.
If you want to make your signature trusted outside your network (say, in worldwide), you need to pruchase a certificate from trusted commercial CA (VeriSign, GoDaddy, GlobalSign, StartCom, etc) according to respective vendor price list. In that case you
don't need to have your local CA server, because it is not used. All certificate management is performed by the external CA. A most common scenario is to purchase signing certificate for particular departament principals (head managers) or few certificates
for a whole company (all documents are revised by a responsible person or persons who holds signing certificate and sign them after review).
so, it is not clear from your post what exactly you need.

  • Can I create digital signatures for other people?

I am trying to determine if there are rules/software limitations that prohibit me from creating a digital signature for other people on my PC. As an example, I support a Vice President-can I create his digital signature and store it to use on his behalf? I would also have my own signature created and stored.  Thanks.

  • I can't afford an MXO for a monitor, what to do?

I am color correcting my short film using Apple's Color on my iMac. I can't afford a Matrox MXO for accurately balancing my color. How can I best set up my monitor to get as close as possible to a broadcast display?
    Thanks,
    cja

I tried the Apple Calibrator tool. I couldn't make it work out. I set up the profile to RGB. I balance using the scopes and I balance the skin tones. My only other option is to finish, send to FCP, use my attached CRT Monitor and then go back to Color with changes.
that's what a budget does to you.

  • Can you increase the fonts for your iphone 5s

I can increase the fonts for my email and texts but can you increase the fonts for everything on your iphone, example apps

If by "for the Apps" you mean the app labels? No. But you might try experimenting with Accessibility settings to see if you can acheive something that will help. As for the size of text within an app, that would depend on whether the app provides that configuration setting.

  • Digital Speakers for my Imac 20"

    Hi,
My 20" iMac Intel Core 2 Duo comes with a s/p dif (digital) audio input/output, and i'm looking at all speakers sold by apple on their web site - NONE OF THEM ARE DIGITAL SPEAKERS, the usual input is standard stereo pin.
I'm looking for some good speakers for my iMac which make use of the digital output provided.
    Please advice
    Sajid

ya digital speakers are cool! i have some boston acoustics 2.1 speakers that sound sweet. if you dont plug them into a digital 1/4" mini jack no sound comes out. lol gotta luv digital speakers eh? good point man!
Yes, and they connect to a
    "Amplifier: Ultra-linear, high-capacity analog"
    so what's the point?
    Regards

  • HT4325 Can you do multiple speakers for ipod touch 4 gen?

Can you do multiple speakers from ipod touch 4 gen ?

You are not addressing Apple here. We are all just users like yourself. Based on previous updates, I would not expect anymore update for the 4G.

  • VISTA - can;t find device driver for your IPOD - read the solution here!

It would appear that VISTA is rather stupid when it comes to the Ipod - it can't find the driver for itself. Do the normal autmatic way of trying to find the driver (that doesn't find the device) then look in the hardware device list (control panel) you should see you Ipod listed under other devices with a yellow triangle next to it. Right click this line and select "properties". then click "update device driver". Then, DON'T do the automatic find, instead click "I will choose the device from a list". Click on "storage device" and voila! VISTA now finds a USB mass storage device and installs it - JOB DONE! HOORAY!
    good luck!
    Mark.
Ipod 5G video colour   Other OS   WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE

When you are prompted to look for a driver input
C:\WINDOWS\System32 and browse it will find a generic
    volume that fixes it.
I tried this as well. I can find a Generic Volume (I think it lists SD, MMC- neither of which seem correct), but neither of those helps. iPod still isn't recognized as a drive even in disc mode. I started another thread after not finding this one. I'm not sure why USB Mass Storage device isn't one of the options.

  • Can you have multiple users for your ipad

can you have multiple users on your iPad

We do. We each sign in our out with our own Apple ID's and we can share the same iPad that way.

  • I have the old clear apple pro speakers, and I want to find an adapter so I can use them as speakers for my iPad

Is there an adapter I can use for the apple pro speakers that will allow me to connect them to my iPad

It would be so much simpler if you'd provide some elementary detail in these sorts of questions, things like what do those speakers use for audio input now? If you're someone who doesn't already know the answer to that question, someone like me for example, then pretty much all I can do is this .....

  • Can't Afford Thunderbolt Display for New MacMini, Next Best Brand?

Anybody have options? I dug up an older 2002 Gateway monitor, but haven't got a power cable yet for it. Is there a possibility of hooking up through my Windows XP Toshiba Satellite laptop? I still have my old eMac buried in the dining room, would I be able to hook up to that? I also have a Seagate external HD that is supposed to be able to work for both Mac and Windows, though I don't think they mean simultaneously.

One thing to keep in mind when it comes to displays is
the actual resolution and not necessarily size.  A vast
majority of monitors out there in the low to mid price range
have a resolution of 1920x1080.  Reason, this is a standard
    HDTV resolution.
So, 21.5", 24", 27" will have the same number of pixels, and the
larger screen sizes will have bigger pixels. So, you won't get any
more desktop on the screen with  a 27" than you will with a 21.5".
The reason the Apple display and others like it are so expensive
because they pack more pixels into the display (33% more in
both vertical and horizontal).  For example on Amazon (all 27", 2560x1440):
    NEC PA271w-bk   $952
Dell Ultrasharp  U2711  $785 (on sale reg. $949)
HP ZR2740w  $706 (also on sale reg. $860)
    to mention a few.
The result of the higher resolution is it can pack a little more desktop
on the screen (really helpful if you work with schematics or architectural
drawings) and images and such will appear sharper.
Just something to keep in mind when making your final decision
    that size isn't everything.

  • Can't Select Multiple speakers for AirTunes

I have had a problem for the past few days now where i can't select to use multiple speakers when using AirTunes.
This has never happened before, and was fine after the update to iTunes 7.
Is there something i need to change / select in my AirPort preferences to make multiple speakers enabled?

Do you have the latest Firmware of the AirPort Express V6.3?
There could be a problem with older versions of the firmware and the new iTunes 7. Then I would also update iTunes to the newest version 7.0.1.
