Can't attach a file in push email

hi all,
i have a blackberry 8520, it is working fine.. but, strange thing happend though..
chronogically its like this..
compose an email,
write the recipient address
type the subject
and write whatever messages right.. and so, i would like to attach a file (.doc file)
so i press the menu button and choose "attach file"
however, the notification poped up saying  "The attachment file may be reduced in size."
then it just ask me to select pictures from my pictures directory only, and i was unable to browse my .doc file that is located in my documents directory, since there is no "up" option in the menu.
I am using OS
Platform: 5.2.0.76
App Version: 5.0.0.822(1385)
can u help please.

Ok, I think I found the right way how to solve the mystery of "The attachment files may be reduced in size" error.........
You have to RELEASE YOUR PIN from BIS temporary, how to do this? well, simply call your phone operator / carrier i.e AT&T, Sprint etc, and ask them to release your pin from BIS, after 1x24 hour (at least) your pin will be released from BIS server and you have to make a new ID from your device , simply go to email setting, and create an ID there...
After your new ID is finished, push your previous mail or just make a new email using your device, don't use PC! this is the step by step I did !
My wife can send emails on her 9700 right now, and she is so happy! I hope everybody or anybody who tried this method will post the result here, let this post tells anyone who happened to stress with this problem!
KUDOS!

  • I can't attach dwg file format to email

When I attach a dwg file to an email in Outlook it shows up a message: The file is not a picture and can't be inserted inline.
I'm attaching the file from the menu Insert > Files as as attachments
My Firefox version is 28.0 on Windows 7 SP1 x86.

After more testing the problem reapeared when i downloaded a dwg atachment from my email account, and in the mimeTypes.rdf was added a entry for the MIME for the dwg files, which is '''image'''/vnd.dwg.
In the end it seems that Microsoft should fix this.
    Sorry for my english.

  • Why can't I attach any files to my email

I downloaded firefox 5 and yesterday, and now I am unable to attach any files to my email.
I create artwork and can not attach any illustrator or photoshop files. Why?

I just solved my own problem a few minutes ago. There was a little switch on the bottom of the Traveldrive. Locked or unlocked (the little lock symbols were so small I couldn't read them without a magnifying glass.
Thank you for responding, sorry to trouble you.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only Guest login created by Find My Mac.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The Guest login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • My friend, who is blind and navigates his computer largely via hotkeys, has asked me to try to discover whether there is a hotkey for attaching a file to an email in Firefox. I cannot find this on the web. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I don't know what other details I should provide. My friend has a program installed which lets him know out loud what is happening as he navigates, but it's been quite a process for him to attach files; he often requires help and it would certainly be easier with a hotkey.
I did check the hotkeys list on this site and discovered a whole lot of hotkeys I never knew existed, but none for attaching a file to an email. Any ideas that might be helpful are welcome, however I should say up front that I'm not nearly at the technical level most people on here obviously are. I can, however, follow clear instructions. :-)

  • Can't attach garageband file

Hi, a bit of a strange question.  I don't have garageband, I'm a logic user, but I have a client who wants to send me a garageband file.  The file is not an export from garageband, it's not a wave or mp3 or aac, it is a native garageband file.  I am hoping I will be able to open it, as I need to edit the midi data and send it back (via midi file, I would think).
Problem is, she says that when she tries to attach the file to an email, the file is greyed out, and she can't select it.  Other files are selectable, but not this.
Might anyone have a guess why this is happening, and how I might advise her to get the file to me?  She's on a year old MBP with 10.6.
    thanks everyone-  Darcy

Control-click it in the Finder and choose to compress or archive it. Packages look like files, but they're actually folders and can't be attached directly.
If the file is larger than about 20MB after compression, you may need to use a service such as YouSendIt, Skype, or iChat instead of email to send it.

  • I can't attach any files in safari browser

I have the last update of safari in macbook pro but I can't attach any files on any website or mils but in another browser like chrome ..ext, I can attach files . so I need help
    thanks

    Hi...
Since you are using a web based email client it's not Apple's responsibility.
But you can try deleting cookies.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences > Privacy
    Click:  Remove All Website Data...
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try attaching a file.

  • I can't attach a file in ISP's WebMail. Was no Problem before. It is OK in MS IE v8x

I use my ISP's WebMail. I am now unable to attach any files to any eMails. It was OK up until about a month ago. I don't rember making any change about then that would of caused this.
I can browse for it and select the file, but when I try to 'add it' to the list of files to attach, it does not add it and the file name that I browsed and selected is empty as it was before I selected it.
I have no such problem in MicroSoft's InterNet Explorer v8x

Is your ISP's site powered by Yahoo or one of the other popular sites that someone could test?

  • Attaching numbers files in an email

I recently switched from PC to iMac and moved all my Excel files. Once I open them, edit, and resave, they become numbers files. When I attempt to attach one of these new numbers files to an email it is grayed out and cannot be attached. Only my old, pre-existing Excel files can be attached. Why? My email is msn hotmail and it has never had any problems with attachments previously. Does msn have difficulty interfacing with a numbers file?

Numbers files are actually packages (folders) with contents in the folders. You may have to zip the file first before sending. Here is an example:
    Select file then Control-Select -
    View of files' contents -

    Hello experts,
I just got an iPad 3 and I am trying to figure out how to attach a file to an email that is already drafted or while replying to a mail.

  • I can't attach a file or photo in hotmail or windows live please help

[http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=1960871&f=38 Useful thread where I got my solution]
The Gingerbreadman on in that link seems he knows his stuff.
I had the same problem and most of Mozilla's answers on here were so useless.
Anyway - I think your problem is likely to be the Add-On 'Silverlight' - disable it and see if you can then select the attachments link.
    Tools>Add Ons>Plugins> Disable Silverlight :)

  • All of a sudden I am unable to attach a file to my email without compressing

All of a sudden I am unable to attach a file to my email without compressing. The email will show no attached file and then freezes and I am unable to add any content to body of email or change any of the content. I have to just delete the email and start over. If I zip the file it will show up in the body of the email and I am able to add content and send the email. This just stared happening, I had not changed any preferences or anything so I have no idea what happened.

Want to explain - makes no sense  since they share the exact same library
