THe e_auth_not_ready can be fixed by deleting your authorization (yes you have one even though it doesn't show) and then reauthorizing. After launching ADE hit CONTROL+SHIFT+D and say yes to delete authoriztion. Then go back in and reqauthorize your computer. You may want to also connect any devices and delete and reauthorize them.
I found this in one of the forums.

  • Cant authorise Digital Editions

Hi. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium ver 6.1 and I can’t Authorise Digital Editions 2.01. Keep getting Error: “could not connect to the activation server”. I am connected to the internet. I already have an Adobe Account which I can access OK. Shockwave is already installed. Tried previous version Digital Editions (1.7?), but that did not work either. Have clean de-installed – pulling out all the “junk items” using Revo uninstaller. Then re-installed Shockwave then re-installed Digital Editions 2.01 as Administrator. Using Ctrl+Shift+D does not bring up a De-Authorise Dialog Box. Registry won’t allow me to delete the key in Adept. Can’t see anything in Task Manager that might be using the Key. I don't really know where to go from here. Thanks.

Sorry for posting a wrong URL. Firewall, anti-virus, and proxy software can intercept the activation request from Adobe Digital Editions to the activation server. You try the below steps to confirm whether you are able to connect the activation server.
Choose Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall.
    Do one of the following:
Windows Vista, Windows 7: In the sidebar, select the option for Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. Click Allow Another Program.
Windows XP: Select the Exceptions tab. Click Add Program.
From the Add A Program menu, select Adobe Digital Editions.
Approve the prompts that appear to complete the process.
To test the firewall settings, go to http://adeactivate.adobe.com/. If you see a page that says "Welcome to Digital Editions," your machine can now connect to the activation server.

  • Can't activate Digital Editions

Can't activate Digital Editions. Error:  E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/Activate 2012-09-02T13:32:48-07:00%20(1346617968000)%20is%20before%202012-09-02T14:06:49-07:00%20( 1346620009678) I checked date and  time zone of computer (and tried all possibilities. I have moved from Ghana to Europe to Canada in recent years). Also activated immediately after download, so 'good until' time should not have passed. What now?

Thanks A LOT!! I have been going crazy for the past hour trying to understand why I kept getting that error message when I tried to authorize my computer. I even contacted customer service through chat but they couldn't help me.
So yes, same thing as you : the way to finally manage to authorize the computer was to CHANGE THE TIME. Actually, funnily enough, what worked for me was changing the Time Zone. I think it's based on what address or city you give when you register.
For example, for me, I had the right time for my city, but the wrong Time Zone. Once everything matched, it worked.
So for those of you who get that "REQUEST_EXPIRED" error message, you now know what to do!

  • I have a Kobo N416  E-Reader. It is no longer supported by Kobo and is outdated. I was told that I can use Adobe Digital Editions Desktop App to download book to this Kobo N416 E-Reader . How do I do this ? Thanks

Question;  How do I download Ebooks to my Kobo N416 e-reader using Adobe Digital Editions App ? I have already tried to get help from Kobo Techs but they say the Kobo N416 E-Reader is no longer supported by Kobo and is outdated. Kobo told me to use Adobe Digital Editions to download the books I bought on Kobo to my Kobo N416 E-Reader. I have already contacted Adobe Digital Editions for help but they could not help me and told me to go to Adobe Forums.

I didnt't say that our business is using Linux Desktops. I wrote, our main clientele is. And what our customers do like to use is something we cannot control...
    >What difference does it make to you if Adobe releases a new version of Reader that is not supported on Linux?
a new Adobe Reader version that's supported on Linux would be nice. a dialogue between Adobe and Linux developers would be nice...
    >As long as the old versions can open the files correctly, that's all that matters, no?
No, not if our staff is trained to use the newest Adobe Acrobat (trainings are usually for the newest versions) and uses that to produce forms. Now the files open correctly. But what will be in some months or years? Do people working on Linux do have to print the forms then again to fill in?
So do you recommend that we stop the process of producing electronic forms and stay with paper-fill-in forms? Is that the goal of Adobe? (maybe not so clever for your "financial viability"?!?!? ... ein schuss ins eigene bein?!?!)
    >Adobe is a public company and therefore it's not going to maintain a version of its software at great cost if it's not financially viable. It's as simple as that...
So it is to be interpreted that Adobe is interested in killing Linux cause if users cannot work with let's say forms, they will have to switch to something that can do that for them...
We definitely don't want to force Windows or Mac on our clientele. So as far as I get it, we will go back to paper forms and terminate our licence agreements with Adobe and deinstall it...

  • How can I deploy Digital Edition 2.0 through SCCM?

    Hello all,
I would like to know how I can deploy Digital Edition through my company's SCCM solution. When I create my usual setup for new software to be deployed, I get the Digital Edition package sent out correctly to my test machines, but nothing gets installed. It just stands forever and tries to install, then when I reset the machines, it gives me an error that I reset doing installation. But I know it wasn't even really trying to install the software.
Is there an msi file somewhere I can download and distribute to my users?
    Kind regards,
    Kasper

Moving this discussion to the Adobe Digital Editions forum.
Kwy28 the Adobe Digital Editions software was not designed to be deployed.  You will either want to ask the users who need to use the software to install it individually or install it on one system and then use a utility like Norton Ghost to make an image of that computer.

  • ?I can't download digital editions. I have Windows 7 and am registered with Adobe.

?I can't download adobe digital editions. I have Windows 7 and am registered with Adobe. My browser is Internet explorer 8

Win 7 has given many people some 'issues'.  There are postings to the forum
that point out you have to set your security so that it will allow
downloads from certain sites, and I seem to recall that these settings need
to recognize Adobe as a source and allow it through the firewall.  Wish I
had the exact post, but I do not.  But I'd bet a search on Windows 7 will
    pull up some more information.

  • Unable to authorise digital editions

I use digital editions to read books from my public library. Suddenly when it was downloading a borrowed book it gave my an error as follows: "Connection error detected - Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet". The internet is fine so I uninstalled Digital Editions and re-installed it. When I tried to authorize it it gave me the same error as above. I contacted my library who said I should switch my firewall off and try again. Did this and unfortunately it didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

OK- I was given the answer by a user on another forum, For anyone else - I must have had some kind of information on the PC that made Adobe think I had an activation already (despite the fact that I've never used Digitial Editions before) so running the "erase authorisation" first did the trick, seems you need to do this the first time you setup an account even if you haven't had an account before.

  • I can´t download digital edition on my notebook!

Can you help me, i can´t download the digital edition. a window ist opening with run us.. and i must give a password ???

It is a possiblity that the laptop overheated causing the shutdown. Pick up a can of compressed air and clean all ports, vents, etc thoroughly to ensure good airflow. You could even direct a small fan at the laptop while trying to run Recovery again.
Another possibilty is hard drive failing. Use Diagnostics to test it and the memory. You should have Diagnostics in BIOS (F10 at power on) or System Diagnostics (F2 at power on)

  • Can't install Digital Editions

Downloaded Digital Editions 2.0 and clicked Run, I agreed to EULA, accecpted the default install option, it appeared to install OK and Digital Editions started but did not ask me to activate.  I clicked on Help and a message appeared "Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  I have tried uninstalling and re downloading with the same problem.  Computer is an AMD 2800+, Win XP Home SP3.  Any Suggestions?

    Hi
Here is the link I was given:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403051/attachments/setup.exe
I have now tested it by downloading one of the books from adobe's sample ebook library.  It opened in ADE fine but I haven't tried transfering to my ereader yet.
    Good luck

  • Can't get digital editions to connect to new nook

how do i get digital editions to recognize our new nook?

Is this a dedicated ereader, or a tablet with ereader capabilities.
A dedicated ereader should show up as a device in the left pane of ADE (Digital Editions).
You must then register the device,  Make sure ADE itself is authorized, then use 'menu/Help/Authorize Device' ('Library/Authorize Device' on the older more reliable ADE1.7.2)
Most tablets don't get seen by ADE at all.
You need to install an Adobe DRM compatible app (Bluefire seems most reliable, there are also Aldiko and Overdrive) and register that with your Adobe ID.
Then transfer books from then computer using file manager (Windows Explorer, Mac Finder) to the tablet which should show up as a mounted drive when plugged in by USB.

  • I can't get digital editions to let me log in to authorise my computer, error message " e auth not ready, any ideas?

I'm trying to get this to allow me to share ebooks from my computer with my ereader, but this error just won't go away! I've reinstalled, I've rebooted, nothing helped. Any ideas?

  • Can't run Digital Editions 4.0.

Have tried uninstall, reboot, install to no avail. From my Visual Studio debugger I get: An unhandled Microsoft .NET Framework exception occurred in DigitalEditions.exe[1576]
    Running on XP Pro

Please update to extended .NET Framework 4 or 4.5.  It should work after this.
However, I am not sure if this update is available for XP Pro.

    Hi
I had installation problems with ADE 2 due to using an older AMD processor.  After several tries at Chat I was given a link to ADE 1.7.   Here it is:

  • Install and use Adobe Digital Editions on a computer without internet access ?

    Hello,
I have a pair of PCs, one of them, with Windows Vista, has never been connected to the internet since many years. It is used for word processing mostly. I didn't even bother to plug an ethernet cable inside or think about a Wifi USB key, in a way it's better that way, no useless distractions and no security threats.
I want to use that offline PC for work, and it would require to use Adobe Digital Editions on that machine. I downloaded the offline standalone installer from adobe.com without problems, however, apparently, Adobe only accepts us to use the program after we have activated it through internet access.
Does that mean there is simply no way out, and I can't use Digital Editions on my offline computer ?
Would you perhaps know a solution to this issue ?
Thank you VERY MUCH if you can help !
    Kind regards

I don't think there is a way out.
You could use it for non-DRM books without authorizing, but there are much better options (such as the free Calibre) for that anyway. http://calibre-ebook.com/
If you make a temporary internet connection, then once authorized, you should not need internet access to read books you have got elsewhere and copied to it.

  • Download error in digital editions

I have had some problems downloading ebooks to digital editions.
Two purchased books, and at least one book from Gutenberg have caused a problem. In the case of the purchased books it happens when I am downloading the book from the site, and in the case of the Gutenberg book it is when I copy it from a disk location. In all cases I receive the following window
This document appears to have minor erros that might
cause it to be displayed incorrectly
    ---errorListChange---
The transfer fails and the book is not transferred. With the first purchased book I was informed by the supplier that they saw no problems at their end.
This message is really useless. Is there somewhere that I can see what Digital Editions thinks the problem is (like a log or trace file)? Or can anyone tell me where to look to solve this?
I am on a low speed modem connection. With the first book, I had the errors during low speed download. However when I did connect high-speed it worked. I will be trying to do this with the second purchased book. However the Gutengerg book was transferred internal to the computer.
    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum, however this one is for discussing, well the forums, themselves.
I would Move your post, but am not 100% certain, where it should go.
I think that you want this forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_reader_forums/ios?view=discussions
but maybe others can direct you. If that IS the correct forum, then I, or someone else can Move the post for you.
