Can't Authorize ADE 3.0 on Windows 8.1 64 bit - Error is E-Auth Not Ready

The laptop is brand new, never had ADE authorized before. I've had this problem on other PCs as well and haven't been able to solve it.

ZOMG! YAY! GOT IT INSTALLED!
I was just about to wipe and start over and try installing .NET 3.5 as the first thing before any updates etc... when I thought I'd do one last search.
I then found an MS article that said about doing an offline install for Win8, I took a look only to discover they referred to the DISM method. However I double checked the DISM command and it was the same as what I had been trying except for 1 thing, the
/limitaccess argument on the article was *after* the /source argument where as I had placed it before.
I mounted the Win8.1 Pro 64bit ISO again, ran DISM with the arguments in the same order as the MS article and it did its usual thing of going straight to 65.5% complete and then it stays there for a while. I was waiting for about a minute, then 2 minutes,
my hope was growing, and then I nearly shed a tear when the progress went up to 66.5% and eventually 100%.

Follow these steps,
1. Launch Adobe Digital Editions
2. Keeping ADE program active on your screen, Hold Ctrl+Shift+D keys.
- you will get a prompt window to Erase Authorization (ADE 2.0) & Deauthorize (ADE 1.7.2)
- Deauthorize ADE and Re-launch it.
3. Navigate to Help > Authorize Computer (in ADE 2.0) & Library > Authorize ( in ADE 1.7.2, usually you will be prompted to authorize when you launch the program ) .

I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, Adobe 8.1 Professional, ActivClient Agent, with CAC card
Trying to sign a document digitally however I keep getting : The windows Cryptographic service provider an error: the keyset is not defined. Error code: 2148073497
-I have tried by deleting my certificates off the computer and reinstalling, this did not help.
-I have tried rebooting the computer, this did not help.
-I google the error message and can't locate any step by step instructions to fix this problem.
Could use some assistance. Please do not assume I'm top of line knowledgeable in Adobe when giving me a fix. That is the reason I am looking for step by step instructions. Thanks.

It's really a Microsoft error, not a Acrobat error, but I know that doesn't make the inability to sign any less frustrating. This probably has something to do with the communication bridge between Acrobat, Windows, and the CAC software. I know you're not responsible for software upgrades, but is there any chance you can download the free Adobe Reader (Adobe Reader Install for all versions). Even though Reader doesn't have the same editing capability as Acrobat Pro, it will allow you to sign a PDF file, and what I'm looking to see is if this is somehow related to the age of version 8.1, which is well past its end-of life. Even version 9 in longer supported.

Try completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all related components; you may need to do this multiple times. It won't normally affect the iTunes library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I can't install ADE 2.0 in Windows 8

I have successfully installed ADE 2.0 in Windows 7 but can't do so on my Windows 8 (64 bit) computer. After repeated attempts I always receive the same error message: "Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 has stopped working. A problem caused this program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." The only option from here is to click the button "Close program." The computer then returns to the Desktop, no solution ever given. The only result from the failed installation is that an ADE 2.0 icon is added to the Desktop. But clicking on this icon gives the same error message as on installation.

Thanks for this suggestion too. But I've figured out and solved my very strang problem.
I'm visually impaired and use the Magnifier in Window's Ease of Access. Certain incompatibilities have often confronted me in Windows 7 in connection with MS Magnifier, particularly when using Aero visualization features. I had hoped these problems would have been resolved in Windows 8. But this is not the case. I still don't know exactly where my problem resides but it is somewhere within the triangle of my HP TouchSmart 610 PC (and its graphic card), the nVidia driver (for which I have the latest version) and the MS Magnifier in Windows 8. Rather surprisingly, I cannot load ADE 2.0 when my MS Magnifier is running in the Docked mode but I can install it (and have now done so) when the Magnifier is in the Lens mode. Likewise, I find other problems that have been hautnting my computer are now resolved in light of this same circumstance. For instance, the HP Support Assistant often stops working when the Magnifier is in Docked mode but it has never done so when the Magnifier is in Lens mode. So it now seems a video conflict in my computer was responsible for my inability of installing Adobe Digital Editions. Once this problem was dealt with, the installation of ADE 2.0 on Windows 8 was smooth as silk.

The "Deauthorize All" command is only available if iTunes thinks you are currently using 5 authorizations.
Otherwise, you can only deauthorize the old computer by using "Deauthorize this computer" from the computer itself.
If the old computer is no longer operable, you can't deauthorize it, but that is not a problem.

Can't install CS4 Design Premium on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Hi All,
I've been scouring forums, and trying suggested fixes to no avail. I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on a brand new internal hard drive. I'm in the process of removing all my apps from Vista and reinstalling on this OS. Here's a breakdown on what I've done regarding CS4 Design Premium:
1) Deactivated the install from Vista.
2) Verified with Customer Support that my license key is available for install and activation.
3) Disabled User Account Control setting in Windows 7.
4) Tried installing from the discs, only to get the error: "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."
5) Reattempted installation, as I've read that sometimes a second attempt will work fine. No good.
6) Downloaded and ran the Win CS5 Cleanup Script (which has an add-on utility for CS3 and CS4) in order to get rid of trace registry files. This did its job successfully.
7) Found an official trial of CS4 Design Premium, which downloaded straight from Adobe's website. Tried installing that, as I've read that the trial can be successful over the discs. No good.
Does anyone have any other help they can offer? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It’s a head-scratcher. It appears that you took spsaxena’s advice and renamed the Config.Msi folder and then, during installation, a new new Config.Msi folder was created, but you weren’t allowed access to it?
You then “took ownership” of the new Config.Msi and still the install program stated it couldn’t write to a file in the folder? Was it able to write any “rbf” files in Config.Msi?
I’m on CS5 now, but I was running CS4 on an in-place upgrade to Windows 7, 64-bit — but I don’t recall that Apple supported CS4 installation on Window 7 That may be part of the problem.
It’s a long shot, but you could try setting the setup file to compatibility mode for Windows Vista 32-bit: right-click the executable, click the Compatibility tab, checkmark Run this program in compatibility mode for:, and select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) from the drop-down list (or the others, you can play with them all). You can also check-mark Run this program as an administrator.

Pse trial v12 installed but when opening the editor it shuts down after 2 seconds, what can be the problem? I have windows 8.1 64 bit with the latest video drivers installed. Thanks

PSE trial 12 installed just fine but when i start the editor it opens and shuts down after about 2 seconds without an error, the only thing that appears is a message with 'continue trial'.
I have windows 8.1 64 bit and i already installed the latest video drivers, intel hd 4000 and nvidia geforce 710M.
I also installed premiere elements version 12 with the same problem.
What can be the problem here, please help?

Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

Nope. Not unless you are on the subscription model, that is. Before the Cloud subscriptions, Photoshop licenses were strictly platform specific. You could ask for a platform swatch, but that involves signing a letter of destruction of the Windows versions.

PS: the System Image went fine for the same laptop on another older 1Tb WD
My Book Essential External HDD.
Please help me as i tried the following but still the problem exists:
1. Stripped the drive to 2Tb
2. Stripped the drive to 1Tb
3. Formatted the drive in Windows to NTFS

If there is no error after the disk checking, please temporary disable antivirus, update BIOS and device drivers such as hard drive from computer manufacturer’s
website to check the result.
If the issue persists, I suggest you boot in Safe Mode, and clear the temp folder. Delete every files that can be deleted.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp
