Can't Authorize music on new computer

Replaced a G4 with a MacBok Pro and can't seem to authorize some of my music.  Itunes asks for authorization under an older user name, but when I enter PW it doesn't like it.  When I tell it to send the PW to my email address of record I never get it.  Have even searched old email accounts just in case.  When I go the personal information route, it asks for my birthday.  When I put it my birthday it says that's not right!!  I KNOW when my birthday is.  I'm all out of options.  isn't there some live person I can talk to and prove who I am.  what do I do now??
Itunes 11.1.3

Found out how from an old discussion.  Here it is:
This can be resolved through a phone call to Apple, provided you can pass the verification process:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
You'll need to speak to someone in Account Security.

  • Can't transfer music to new computer, please help

My old computer crashed so I can't connect it to my new one to transfer my songs. I plugged my ipod into the new comp before downloading itunes and I save my playlists onto it in My Music. Then I downloaded itunes and tried to transfer my music into my library. It says theres an error and the songs can't transfer. Also, the ipod's songs pop up when I click on the ipod but they're gray and I can't highlight, move, play, or acceses them in anyway. I reeaallly don't want to download my 800+ songs all over again so any tips will be appreciated!

I'm new to this Discussions Forum but I've notice so many people with the same problem as u...I guess I'll just post my solution here n hope it relieves some of everyone's headaches..
I've discovered a way to preserve my ipod songs n transfer it into my new computer. It took
me quite a while to figure it out so if it also work for u, please give credits where
    credit is due~ ^_^ MyMyMai
Follow these steps for Windows XP users:
    1) Go to "Start"
    2) Go to "Control Panel" n click on it.
    3) Click on "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices"
    4) Click on "Portable Media Devices", then a list of ur portable devices should pull up,
    including ur ipod.
    5) Click on ur ipod, then it should pull up folders named "Calendars" "Contacts" "Notes"
    "iPod_Control" n "Photos"
    6) Click on the "iPod_Control" folder, it should pull up several folders named "Artwork"
    "Device" "iTunes" n "Music"
    7) Click on the "Music" folder which would bring up several folders named "F00" "F01" "F02"
and so on and so forth.
    8) All you have to do is copy n paste ALL the folders onto ur new hard drive, like ur
    desktop or "My Music" folder.
    9) Open up ur new itune on ur new computer, go to "file", "add folder to library", and
click on ur "My Music" folder or each "F00" folders on ur desktop.
All the songs should transfer into ur new iTune library. Hope this helps!

  • Can't authorize lightroom on new computer

I paid for Lightroom 5 and installed it on my old computer when it first came out. Since then, I've bought a new computer and when I try to authorize LR 5 on my new computer, it's telling me that my serial number is invalid. I'm copying the serial number directly from the adobe website, so that seems unlikely. What can I do? I don't want to sign up for Creative Cloud because I only use LR and I already have it. Why should I pay $10/month for something I already own?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The old computer has died, so while I tried de-authorizing LR from the old computer, I don't believe it worked and that computer is now an expensive paperweight.

It seems that recently several people have made the mistake of downloading and installing the CC version of Lightroom when they were expecting the standalone version. The CC version will not accept a serial number. If you think you may have made this same mistake, you can uninstall it and get the appropriate version from this link: Product updates

  • Can't play music on new computer

I successfully installed the latest version of itunes on my new windows vista computer. I used a zip drive to import all of my library/playlists. Everytime I click on a song, the following message comes up: "The song '...' could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" No matter what I try I can't get it to play. I even tried putting the original cd in, and it still would not play. Please help

When you add stuff from a disc to your library, you use File -> Add to library... or simply drag and drop onto iTunes. Importing only works for ripping stuff from CDs. So I assume you didn't actually "import" right?
OK go to your iTunes preferences. Click the Advanced tab. There is a check box for an option to "Copy Files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to Library". Is that checked? If not, there is your problem.
When it isn't checked, iTunes will add the tracks to your library catalog but access the media files from where ever they were added from instead of making its own copy in the iTunes Music folder. So if you dropped them in off the Zip drive, it will expect to be able to play them from that location later.
One way to check is pick one of the problem songs. Do a Get Info. In the Summary panel, at the bottom is the path showing the location of the media file where iTunes expects the file to be. Is it showing the location of your removable drive?

  • TS2972 How do you move your music within itunes from your regular library to the homeshares library so that you can import it to your new computer?

How do you move your music within itunes from your regular library to the homeshares library so that you can import it to your new computer?

You do not have to move it as such. Here are the steps to setup HomeSharing
    1) Ctrl B to turn on the top menu
    2) File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share enter your apple id and password, click create
    3) repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other computer and create home share using the same apple id and password
On your new machine if you have turned on the left hand sidebar the Shared Library should be about halfway down like this.
Select the songs you want and click import at the bottom right. If you want all songs then I would select one song nad Ctrl A to select all
Finally if you have a lot of songs to transfer Switch off the wifi on the old computer. Leave the wifi on the new one. Connect with an ehternet network cable. The copying speed is way faster.
Click import and grab a coffee

  • Ipod nano help with syncing music to new computer?

I have two ipod nanos, one 6th gen. the other 7th gen, and the laptop I had all the music on and synced from cant be accessed anymore, so how can I get the music onto a different computer and be able to sync new music to them?

Thanks!  I did it again using my iPod again.  (I couldn't find an external drive large enough)
What am I supposed to do with the iTunes folder that is now on my desktop from the step below:
    Copy music to new computer
To copy all your music files (including the library file that holds all your playlists and other settings) to your new computer:
Locate your Music folder (Mac OS X) or your My Music folder (Windows) on your new computer:
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Drag the iTunes folder in this location out to the desktop.
    Can I just delete that?

I just purchased an iPod Touch 5 for my brother for Xmas.  Can I transfer music from my computer to the iPod Touch without messing it up for him when he plugs it into his computer for the 1st time?  Dave

No since you can only sync with one computer.
    To switch syncing computers:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

  • Help with moving music to new computer

I have run into a problem while following the iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer support artical.  I believe I followed the instructions using my iPod as an external hard drive but when I finally went back to iTunes, the songs are listed, but they do not open.  Instead, I get a pop up that says, "The song "xyz" could not be used because the original file could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?"  This is the case for about 500 songs that were previously on my old computer in iTunes
I have a new window's 8 computer and had just downloaded iTunes onto it.  I was so worried about losing my songs that I specifically looked for help on how to seamlessly accomplish this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

You cannot. iTunes purchases remain on the iTunes account they were purchased with.

  • How can i download music from my computer to my i phone

how can i download music from my computer to my i phone?

If the music you are wanting to have on your iphone was purchased through itunes you can then go to your front display to settings>itunes and app store from there you have a toggled switch that allows you to automatically download music and apps by toggling the switch. You will need to toggle the switch below these switchs that allows for cellular data to be enabled if this has not already been enabled. This then will automatically download music and apps directly to your device with no additional charge to you.
    Good luck.
